Sam gerrans and Monotheist translation translates "Ar-Rahman" as "The Almighty". The context of the instances where this term is used seems to be more in line with this translation. just wanted to let you know. You can check it out.

The arabs used to be polytheists that's why they didn't acknowledge Arahman, when people are resurrected since they now will face the truth they adress Allah as Arahman because they know nothing can save them except if he has mercy on them.
