One cool thing is if a DeathWatch member survives and chooses to retire their watch, they keep their Left arm as a trophy when they return to their chapter, and it’s seen as a huge Medal of Honor.
Incroyable.
excuse me, health experts to exist in 40k
diagnostics : heresy
treatment : bolter
Also medical practioners who think massive intimidating buzz saws and drills are more essential than field dressings and antiseptic.
Blood angels: "Yo, what if we team with Necrons?"
Admech: "Ayy, 'crons got some cool stuff right here"
Deathwatch: "XENO IS XENO"
There is a bit of fluff actually about something similar to that. Imperial forces broke an alliance with the ynnari to defeat chaos. The deathwatch rock up, completely unaware of this agreement and get to work taking out the eldar. This ultimately decimated both allies and chaos proved victorious. The price of secrecy
Well, in terms of such agreements, the Deathwatch puts the "no" in "xeno". :
Raven Guard: FUCK THE TAU
Meanwhile the Ordos Xenos is supplying their Death Watch with powerful xeno tech weaponry of questionable xenos sources. "If it kills well, use it. Just keep quiet about it! "

Aren't the Death Watch more or less the Reasonable Marines? They wear mostly black, meaning they don't stand out, they make use of more advanced technology, which they are constantly upgrading and improving, even using some xeno tech and their tactics and battle doctrine is constantly improving to be more efficient at slaughtering that isn't human.
nope they are proto retributors from astartes series. reso marines detest "GLORIOUS" melee combat like Tau
Yeah, I always thought them as the Black Ops of 40k
Rezzy's also ally with various "friendly" Xeno groups
@@giuseppedagostino6854 i think the definiton of black ops is most suited for the raven guard and of course reso marines if it is canon
they are the reasonable parts of their OG chapter, so uber reasonable marines

@@Overlord99762 Yup.
The Imperial Fist would be playing with blocks. They are builders. The Iron Warriors were the trench diggers.
The Death Watch is the “Bad Batch” of Space Marines, and I love everything about it.

More like the Avengers.
Like "taking the black" but in 40k
Why a Bad Batch?
This is just too funny, sorry if the spelling is wrong

Artemis (Unknown): I can see the FUTURE!

Chad 40k Deathwatch vs Virgin Star Wars Deathwatch
Hey pelinal how's the dead boyfriend
Awesome!!!
Andrew Whiting you haven’t heard? ORIGINALLY the Deathwatch was a faction of mandalorians in the Jango Fett comics where Jango’s backstory is told. The Deathwatch wanted to basically be huge dicks and try to kill everything again but the Super Commandos wanted to preserve the mandalorian life style of being rugged badass mercs. In the new Canon the Deathwatch are Mandalorian rebels/clan who want to preserve mandalore’s fighting culture while the Super Commando’s are Maul’s lacky.
They are also kinda dicks in the Disney canon.
@@PelinalWhitestrake36 funny enough, Disney Deathwatch want to uphold the traditional martial culture of the Mandalorians in comparison to the pacifism of the Duchess.
Compared to the Legends Deathwatch, they probably would get along with the Jango's faction.
I imagine that when marines are chosen for the Deathwatch, they have a meeting with the chapter master whos like, "alright I've got some NDA's for you to sign".
Imagine being a blood angel and not being able to spill blood

It's hard to imagine 90 percent of star wars characters lasting longer than a day in 40k.

@@casualthurs3243 the high level force users would stand a pretty good chance. Certainly not on their own and not without extreme danger, but those who'd manage to get allies (so mostly human sith) would be pretty capable (10% might be a very accurate guess).

If there was ever a videogame GW should get behind with no financial limits it would have to be a Death watch game. Just imagine fully fleshed out gears of war style production game series. It's a no brainer
One the fun story plots they have are Black-Shield Marines, marines that have removed their original chapter heraldry and serve the death watch to redeem themselves from a past mistake without shaming their chapter, but it's also hinted that there's loyalist survivors of the traitor legions also serving as these Black-Shields.
Love the Death Watch, I'm currently building an army of them with an attached Imperial Guard/Inquisition force.
if TTS emperor see this video i bet hes just gonna say "what i get out of this video is watch watch watch watch watch watch watch watch watch and watch"
The deathwatch would be a great place to bring back c captain titus
far as we know, he's master of his own successor chapter (least that was the planned story)
The X-COM of the 40k universe.
Here is my head canon of how Deathwatch came to be. The war of the beast was just a drug trip of a Lord Inquisitor. After rehab he became utterly paranoid of xeno so he set up deathwatch so that he can sleep again peacefully. Every space marine chapter agreed to this idea as a excuse to get rid of their most obnoxious members.
Well, now I know where all my pencils went.
Siefer Zeed is my favorite Deathwatch member. Complete badass, if a bit too cocky.
Should have mentioned how Cyrus learned how to produce infinite explosives during his time with them
I'm actually happy to hear rhe lamenters having a battle brother in the deathwatch.
Ah yes. The Octarius War. Kryptman's biggest screw up that got him kicked out of the Inquisition. An infinite food source and infinitely growing Ork horde going at it.
For those wanting to know Artemis is from the Mortificators which is an Ultramarines successor chapter
As a chronomancer, I approve of the Deathwatch's emphasis on watches instead of death. Wait, not that kind of watch? Lame. Deathwatch is still hella cool though.
Weren’t they first introduced in Dan Abnett’s Eisenhorn novel Xenos. Keep in mind that book was the only reason why I heard of DeathWatch. The captain in the first Eisenhorn book was quite hilarious
It's an alright "chapter". Had to serve in it for a dozen years.
Have this Kill Team box set. Much more painting detail than expected. Silver on black is bad ass.
True coolness lies in not trying so hard to be cool. Calling everything death(___) would have been very tryhard.
The rpg is what introduced me to the deathwatch, it’s basically the same lore.
The second Deathwatch book got me back into 40k for a while.
Why is this the first time i've seen your channel XD " I like to say i like a spastic " to funny my man XD
Looking forward to the new Codex. May they get the rest of the Phobos Marines already.
The Deathwatch was always a favorite of mine. It combined ideals, upgraded tech and tact, and strove to fight together as a single unit, rather then 5 or 6 random marines fighting with but not alongside eachother. I am actually working on a Deathwatch campaign, and need to develop a command squad for the PCs to get missions from.
Ha love the "end of ze world" reference

Lamenter Dreadnought when joining Death Watch: finally a fucking holiday
Excellent content. Subscribed.
"Do not ask why I kill the alien; rather ask why not." Is kind of a great quote because of the built in ambiguities. Basically it sets killing xeno as the default but leaves open the possibility of not killing if a great prize may be won later. It satisfies the hard core xenophobics while not completely boxing you into one set strategy. Great quote 👍
Edit: letter replacement and added a couple words.
Dreadnoughts should be Called battle grandpas.
You make Charon sound like a vengeful Mermaid Man
"EEEEEEEEVIIIL!"
Basically, if deathwatch was around during the HH, Loken wouldve been a member
cheers for the video. Small note; Deathwatch is also formed out of loyalist marines that come from traitor legions. Not only from loyalist chapters ;)

*Death Watch exists*
Alpha Legionnaire: its free real estate.
An episode on the different alliance made in w40k could be interesting
DW also has an aspect of the French Foreign Legion to them
as in, an astartes can come to the DW base and request audience and admittance, no questions asked. they only need to have an interview with the DW astartes in charge, which is confidential, and if the commander says yes that is it.
and it doesn't matter much their past or legion/chapter of origin
As an asperger with Anger Management issues, I feel somehow left out of that expert evaluation.
