The year is 1968, and the Vietnam war is in full swing. While the global audience watches the horror on their tv sets or reads about it in their newspaper columns, for you, the experience is all too real. Your tiny village tucked away in the Vietnamese mountains has not been spared from the carnage. Throughout the day and throughout the night, helicopters fly overhead, while the sound of napalm being dropped in the distance is your wake-up call. Machine gunfire can be heard through the dense jungle and the screams of those maimed or injured. You wish for life to go back to normal, but unfortunately, peace does not look to be on the horizon any time soon.

This is what my grandfather hears when he is drifting to sleep. Cheers for the well-done video.
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching!
My grandfather trying to call up your grandfather by ak47 lol :))))))😂😂😂😂
@@copsinh4924🤣🤣😭
I was expecting fortunate son to start playing lol
Great song, I would have put it in but then I'd have to deal with copyright issues. Thanks for watching!
Tex: “Damn! It’s gonna piss on us all night …”
Barnes: “Yo! Saddle up! Lock and load!”
April 3rd, 1968
It had only been about 7 years since me and my friend got drafted to Vietnam. I'll be honest, it's nice without all the battle and bloodshed. If it wasn't for a lack of coordination, and a lack of worthy supplies, we wouldn't have lost some of our squad, named "Honey Turkey". It's also kind of hard to sleep with all the battle shit going on in the distance, and consistently thinking about the Charlie in the trees popping out and killing every one of us. But for now, the best order to follow is to stay close, and keep moving. Soon, once this is all done, we'll go home.. All of us...
Nice piece of writing👍
@@ambientescapade3746 Thanks. I plan on doing the same for other videos like this🙂
America only sent troops to Nam after the Tonkin incident in 1964
Hm. Didn't know. Well think of this as a fictionalized story in which America starts drafts in 1961.
@gemgo22 that is completely false, the U.S. started sending Military advisors as far back as 1954 to help the south Vietnamese fight against the north
Exactly what I needed to get to sleep! Thanks!
My great uncle was a POW in Vietnam. He used to inspect fox holes. That’s all I know, he didn’t really talk about it much.
I'm sure it was a difficult thing to talk about. Thanks for stopping by!
Inspect fox holes? What?
@@Hex180 Soldiers would dig out holes chest high or neck high for cover, making them hard to hit while providing somewhere to rest or wait.
I think you meant he was a tunnel rat. Fox holes don't make sense. Tunnel rats searched VC tunnels deep underground for the enemy and intelligence. Extremely dangerous job. The most dangerous actually
@@Hex180I believe he meant tunnel rat. Either that or he was a fox proctologist
My uncle was a helicopter pilot in Vietnam.
I'm sure he had some insane stories, thanks for watching!
@@ambientescapade3746 he doesn’t like to talk about and I fully understand why.
@@TheTruthFadeswithTime28 shame man. Would love to hear those stories. But as you say he has every right not to wanna speak about it
Jungle black ops 1😩
Suddenly you hear GOOD MORNING VIETNAM 😂😂
Keep doing what you're doing! Love from the netherlands
Raindrop therapy: a natural stress reliever.
I listened to this every night helps me sleep
My grandpas PTSD finna kick in if he hears this💀
Love the videos, I got a challenge for you. I understand that it's playing on a loop. But if you could put some roaming guards on duty... now they don't really have to talk but I know that we would hear them (even if it's faintly) walk by the sleeping point. Even check in with the other fighting positions by softly calling/talking to them.
Noted!
@@ambientescapade3746vietnam style radio chatter like your In the command hole/bunker
Bet this is great for people with PTSD.
0:52 BRO AS SOOON AS THAT LOUD BANG HAPPEN THUNDER STRUCK AND MY WHOLE HOUSE SHAKED
Good timing👍
I listen to this every night minus the helicopter 🚁 sleep like a baby
My grandfather was a medic in Vietnam
I'm sure he has quite a few interesting stories!
THERE IN THE TREES
huh?
Surely everyone who comes here is lonely
My Grandfather fought for the Viet Cong from 1959-1975. He told me about how he would have to live in the tunnels, and everytime a bomb would hit nearby, the dust from the tunnel roofs would come loose. I recently learned his kill count was pretty high for someone his age. About 86... Real sorry to all the families my Grandfather may have ruined, I am still proud of him for fighting for our independence. He even got to meet Ho Chi Minh. He told me that Uncle Ho was just about the wisest man he had ever met. Peace be with all veterans, fallen and returned.
Damn, He Survived 16 years in the VC.........He must have been really good............and very lucky.....
My momma always said, life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get
I must watch Forest Gump again soon, thanks for listening
@@ambientescapade3746 idk why this made me think of it 😭 just finished watching it again after commenting this lol
@@TropicalThunder21 Maybe because the movie took place during the vietnam war
They need to come out with another vietnam video game
I still replay WaW.
@@KILLERMEXICAN210 WaW the most realistic COD since. Sounds, visuals, feel. Actual war not cartoonish fps. I'd kill to be able to play online again
@@love2chiefs MW3 was good too
@@UltraGamma25 I loved MW3 but it didnt have the darkness only a ww2 game could give.
You should all play hell let loose. Thats as real as it gets. Also next Vietnam game to play will be bad lands
I love these kinds of ambiance but the rain reminded me of blood dripping after being hit with a shotgun to the face so it kinda terrified me for a bit
Such lies
Such deception
Imma show this to my grandpa
Bros beefing with his grandpa 😂
Don't do pappy like that bruh
Oh no 😁
I was Barnes from Platoon in a past life.
I must watch that again sometime soon.
We definitely weren’t sleeping during something like this. Haha.
No, I wouldnt imagine so 😄
@adamberner8053 same here, but only fighting guerrillas in Guatemala
Is it ok I'm sleeping under this sound? 😢its sad but its a fact
June 4th 1969
I just realized that 25 years ago today, Dan Gallery caught himself the U-505. Now, here I am, riding down a river, doing what the Government of the country I love has had me doing for two hundred years: search out the anomalous/unexplained, and either contain, or terminate. We found and contacted the leader of the dragons, Thăng Long Quân, a descendent of the original Dragonking, Lạc Long Quân. He and his kind devoutly emphasized their neutrality in the conflict.
More like you're not sleeping through all this
For reality.... put some radio communications 3th Royal 22 Regiment infantry Canada
Maybe in a future Vietnam one. Thanks for the suggestion and thanks for listening.
This is amazing! Thank you.
Tough sh*t.....Tough sh*t....Your kid got greased.....What the F--ck...He was just a grunt....At last he"s found some peace...........
I don't appreciate comments like that. Keep it civil.
Would those be INFANT Hueys? Not sure there was a lot of night flying especially in bad weather. Let me know if I am wrong.
I am not sure🤔
Certainly not ideal conditions to fly in but not unheard of to fly in them.
John Paul Vann was an American adviser in south Vietnam who was flying in bad weather after the battle of Kontum in 1972, when poor weather caused the helicopter to crash.
I accidentally played this in front of my grandfather and he had a stroke any idea why?
No Fortunate Son. Therefore not realistic.
Where the fortunate son?
This is fake😅
I'd be done for copyright. One of my favourite songs though:)
