New to the ebike scene, I got a grizzly v2 a couple months ago. It's been great but now I'm ready to mod. Just got recommended this video and loved this instructional video. Quick, to the point, and easily understandable. Subscribing and looking forward to future videos as well as watching your past ones.
Great job. Thanks for the vid.
haha loved the intro "FIRST THING...TIMIE TO VOID THE WARRANTY" lmao. love these bikes man.
Nice I dig it🤘 subbed!!
You are legit so adorable, and this is a great vid.
I was patiently waiting for you to show us a speed test at the end of the video :(
Sorry man i totally should have done that. Im going to do a riding video to show its power and speed soon!
ya i was waiting also maybe next video
@@MrJamessjones it was only right
Very interested in this build. I have a 48v x class and want to do the same. I need more spec on the battery, mileage, speed, and waiting for your test ride video.
Thank you for this video. I do have 1 question. Why not just buy the cheaper 48 volt X-class, if you're going to a 72 volt battery setup? I'm running some numbers, to also do this build.
Ariel Rider pretty much discontinued making the regular X class, leaving only the used market.
whats the top speed on this build? and can I use a battery blender to use my stock battery as well as the new one?
Having the controller in the bag, does it not have heat issues, typically you would want to install it where it gets good air ventilation?
I don’t think you have to remove the caliper to takeoff the back wheel. You could loosen the mounting bolts prior to putting the new wheel back on so that the rotor will slide in and then you can reposition it but I don’t think it’s necessary to remove the caliper.
I just started watching your channel and I think you’re a very smart guy. I just got a grizzly bike for Christmas 2022 and I got some new tires for the bike, but my only issue is i can't find the wire to disconnect the front tire from the motor from the wheel. I reached out to Ariel and they gave me a picture along with some instruction but not very good details. i was wondering if you can make a video for dummies like myself to show us how and where to find that wire to disconnect the front tire so that we can change our tires for ourselves I’d really appreciate it if you would be so kind to do that for a dummy like me. Thank you so much man.
I think there are some videos on CZcams that outline installing the Grizzly but usually the motor wire is located along the frame. Check the forks where they have zip ties wrapped around. You'll see a think connector with a silver ring around it.
Hey what about the brakes?? How did you run the x class brake sensors to your controller??
Did you have to buy a separate 72v battery to work with the controller? Can you please share the link.
Good Show I just found your Channel
What size drill bit did you use for the torque arm?
What did you do with the 52volt battery? Is it running to the motor or did you replace it or what
Jesus Christ that's dope, you didn't have to alter the frame in any way then huh? Still got room for a rear rack or two seater too. I'm impressed I'm buying an x class next month and wanted to find a way to upgrade and it looks like I just did. What size is that battery? And what kind of range do you get on it as well as cost so I know what I'm gonna be spending
0:45 LMFAOOOO 😭
What controller does the x class come with, do you remember?
Great video. I also checked out the video about programming. This is my second build, and still I can’t seem to get speed/mileage to display on the screen. I unplugged the 3 wire connector, programmed and worked, replaced 3 wires and still no speed. I also don’t have the single wire speed sensors going to anything from the controller. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have a 42v x-class. I would love to upgrade to this 72v.
Can you put the 5000w motor kit on the xclass?, and does the 5000w motor in your website come with the throttle?
Hi all. Be aware that the NB power does not honor their warranty, and in case of any trouble when contacting their technical support you may receive totally unqualified help (which in my case burnt/shorted the whole system). I purchased the 72v 3000-5000w kit form NB Power for my Sondors Madmods Scrambler. The kit is this Sabvoton 80a controller (SVMC7280) paired iwth NP power's own motor, which they call fatmotor 3-5k. I asked for 4T winding to get more torque than speed (have lots of hills). I have a 72v batttery with 80a daly bms. The pack is built with 160pcs of p421 Molicells (21700) in a 20s8p configuration amounting to 72v 33.6 ah. I installed the setup and the bike was running beatiful for 20 minutes. I was a happy camper. Parked and the next day I tried the bike the wheel had constant drag and vibration (usually damaged hall sensor). Tried both hall sensors, same issue. Contacted NB power and their technician would not believe there was a probelm with the motor, despite the permanent drag and vibration (plus noise during operation, again, typical of hall sensor damage). The NB power technician kept asking to change some parameters and test again, changed ofset andgles several times, nothing helped. He eventually said the bike was working properly (despite drag and noise and vibration) and asked me to test ride it. During the testing immediately as I gave it throttle the display shut off and wouldn't turn back on. I had to connect and reconnect from the battery (I am using QS8 antispark connectors), but it gave a spark. Tried second time, and it gave a spark again, so I disconnected everything and tested my battery first with a multimeter. Battery tests ok, and the voltage matches what the daly bms displays through the bluetooth app. So now I tessted the controller and the positive and negative wires are short circuited. Also by running basic tests I can see the short circuit on the blue and green phase wires of the controller. NB power did not honor their warranty, though it has been on ly 5 months since purchase (just took me a while to build the battery pack, the kit actually worked only for 20 minutes). So beware that when buying from NB power you are taking a chance.
Same thing with ariel rider support
They changed my battery and controller after 2week my top speed when from 33mph to 25
But they say is normal
Send them countless vid of the bike performance...
They won't help....
Becarful with all the hype
I been stock with ariel bck and for since the xclass 48v first generation
They shit when so bad they ended up replacing it with the 52v...
Yo would this be compatible with a juiced hyperscorpion?
Great video. When upgrading the mototr to the 3000w motor, wod i need to add an extra batter? And also how much faster is it? Thank you
It can run off of one 72V, 20ah battery and still get to about 50+ mph but with more aggressive riding your range will decrease. An additional battery does help with overall range.
I'm almost sold on buying a Griz or X but have a few ?'s. I'm at 300lbs/6' and I'm wanting a primary ride that serves as a commuter for work(12 mile round trip). I also wanted to be able to take my son(100lbs)on mini trips around the city. My ? Is.... Is my weight going to put serius stress on bike. Which bike between the 2 would be the best(I have a healthy respect for 2 wheeled rides but like the customability of A.Rs) so I'm interested in what i could do to upgrade to fit my size if a go.
I have a question for you. I have an x class 52v step thru cause in a shorter rider. the bike is great and exceeded my expectations in every way. but by design and the positioning of the frame, how would you suggest going about this upgrade on it? ...battery under the seat maybe? can you help me out good brother?
I also want to upgrade my X-Clads step thru. 60v downtube battery, 3k motor controller under the seat.
Is the 100 amp Nb triangle battery 100 amp continuous or 100 amp peak?
This is one of the best Ariel Rider X-class upgrades i've seen. What is the width of the rear drop out? I want to do this build.
The dropout for the X-Class is 170 mm
I have the bag and the battery but I never seen you put it on and I got everything in the video
Would the 3000watt kit work on the OG 52v battery for the short term. I understand it won’t be optimal to take advantage of the motor, but would it work, or not big enough of a BMS?
Unfortunately not because of the amount of current needed to power the motor. 72V is the way to go for sure. BMS is also a factor but only when you upgrade the battery. The required BMS for this motor is an 80 rated.
I have two questions, did you connect the stock battery with the new on and use both of them? And can you take the triangle battery out to charge it?
For my more recent builds I actually remove the stock so it gives more room for the new 72V one. You can technically keep the stock battery on to power the brake lights and headlight (since the stock controller is in the frame), but you're just adding extra weight by keeping the stock parts.
Hey I tried dm-img a few days ago about your batteries and install. Let me know when you get a chance bro.
Where did you message me? Facebook or on my web-sight is the best place to get a fast answer.
Can you make a video on how to change the controller and all that
Now I need a way to get this on my stepthru.
That would be awesome on a step-thru!
Hey, I have the 52v x class and I want to buy the 5000w motor and upgrade everything to 72v. I also want to upgrade the front forks. Any suggestions? While I'm at it, the rear shock has to go. Any suggestions on that as well?
If you upgrade would you sell your motor, I need one
@E-StreetBikes What city are you working in. Also I would like to put one of those kits on a Juiced Bikes City Scrambler. And if so how much is for the kit. What is the top speeds I’ll get having that kit on my bike.
I also want to put this kit on my bike as well. I have a juiced hyperscorpion. Hopefully it'll work.
Did you “thread” the rear dropout for the torque plate?
I threaded it my self just with a drill bit and the screw. Drilled a slightly smaller hole then worked the screw in.
Hey can you tell me what you have set your settings at for your control !!! Thanks
Soon as i set my bikes set up first ill reset to default settings, then do the hull test then ill enable “flux weaken enable” and then the “flux current” to 50a. I like having the power their if i need it but for the most part i ride pretty conservatively.
how fast will the nb power 2000 w hub ebike kit go 52 v
28 to 30
How bout installing a front motor with the stock back motor? Will it go faster. Sorry I'm new to this.
We don’t do high power duel motor set ups. I feel they’re dangerous. A high powered E Bike is already kinda sketchy once you start going 50mph +. The front wheel can make it jerky. But a second motor isnt needed for more speed or power. This 3000w Motor Kit is already incredibly powerful and fast. The 3000w can do about 55mph and the 5000w can do 60mph+. Its easy to pop a wheelie with just cracking the throttle alone.
I have a 1000 watt front motor 20 amp HR 52 volt battery on my X and separate throttle for safety controlling the front drive is the way to go
im gonna buy from you guys, if my hub motor dies out, but not yet soon
No worries man, just contact me when you're ready.
Yo! I am getting my first ebike, specifically to go on long adventures with my kid - I saw in a JB 360 video you have an X-Class with a trailer. I was about to pull the trigger on a Kepler just because it has the back rack for a child seat, but now I'm thinking I can get the Xclass (my preferred style) and slap on a cool kid trailer. How do you like that setup, and could you post a link to the trailer you got? Thanks, and have fun out there!
The trailer is awesome and I set it up so the hitch by the rear wheel is always there so I can just mount the carrier easily and secure it without removing the bolt. I'll try and find it and post the link here.
@@e-streetbikes6381 Thank you, I appreciate the insight, going to go that route for sure - it won't be long until I'm on your shop site looking to beast this thing out, and I haven't even got it delivered yet. Looking forward to checking out more of your work, peace!
Hey I wanted to buy the qs motor kit 3000w from u guys for the riel ride xclass 52v but I was told the qs motor is not for my bike what do I do???
The QS motors do not support the rear dropout for the X-Class but mainly for Stealth Bomber type bikes. The main motor options for the X-Class are the 3000w Fat Tire motor or 5000w version
Im not sure which dropout size I need to put down for this kit.
Hi Rick, for the X-Class the dropout will be 170mm
are you selling that x class motor? If so, let me know! I’m in the area.
yo planning on getting one of your kits in the future for the x class, just wondering what did you do with the excess wiring from the x class
I stripped everything. Im about to make a video on how my bike is set up now. Its pretty awesome. maybe another 2 weeks.
@@e-streetbikes6381 I want to buy from ur site I'm interested in the 46Ah X-Class Full Frame Molicel 72V 300A BMS Battery
What's the top speed?
@@dimitrimcintosh8858 Depends on the motor your getting as well as the controller. Our popular 3kw motor with 80amp Sabvoton can get you over 55mph+.
@@e-streetbikes6381 how much?
if i brought my x class 52 to your shop could you install it for another fee?
I can do a free install for ya. Im doing 5 free right now and theirs 3 openings left. Give me a shout on facebook or at the message center on my web-sight.
Yo this fits an Ariel X-Class 52V? Been looking at getting one of them.
Correct this fits both the 48V and 52V versions.
Which model Sabvoton is this?
This is just the 80a version
Does greenpath have more xclass v52? Do they always got em in stock?
If you want one you should call them ASAP because they go very fast! But i did get both my X Classes fron GreenPath.
@@e-streetbikes6381 they already sold out till September
@@dannybozz9764 Thats a bummer. Keep an eye out on FB market place ive bought a few X Class of there.
I hope the controller in that bag is safe from overheating/catching the bag on fire
Yes it works great actually, have had this bag setup for almost about a year now and the controller hasn't reached high temps even when pushing the motor.
Broooooo what’s the top speeed?
where did you get that tank bag?
This was actually from Amazon

Hi! I have a city scrambler. Looking into getting a motor kit for it. Hit me up when you have time? I’d like to ask you some info! Thanks!
Is that the 21 Pilots drummer?
Thanks guys! I first found your 52V on Facebook and will definitely set mine up like yours when my black x-class 52V is delivered soon. Well, at least I’ll try lol..
Which motor kit did you use? On the website I see from 2000w to 5000w. I’m leaning towards the 5000w 🔥😂
Could you provide the link for the bag where you placed the motor in? 🙏🏽
The motor kits have recently changed the 3000w goes around 55mph. The 5000w goes 60+. All triangle batteries come with a bag. Ive spent alot of time trying to find ways to mount other style batteries but the only clean set up for a X Class is a triangle battery. The 3000w is 80a and the 5000w is 100a. So any battery thats going to push that many amps is going to be real big. But if them are very torquey! Ive built alot of X Class bikes if ya need any thing feel free to shoot me a message on FB or on the web-sight.
Hi just saw your video I want the same hook up...how much does it cost ?
Check out my site e-streetbikes.store
Is that bag included in the kit?
Unfortunately not but we are now offering an option to get a custom bag. If you want the one from the video, it was actually purchased on Amazon here
