I actually don't mind the throttle delay. It allows me to choose whether I wanna creep at a low speed (smoothly, without jerking), or just take off. The stock X-Class is pretty versatile.
I'd rather have pedals with pedal assist on mine in case i don't pay attention to battery usage and it dies, i can still pedal it home instead of walking it. i already wanted one of these so bad before when it went up to 30mph...now i want it even more! lol I'd be pretty unsure whether i should even ride it on trails at all though at that point since it's capable of going that fast. yes it's still a class 2, but it can go almost 40mph. that's passing vehicles unless you're on main/busier roads, out in the country and highways. i hardly get to 20mph (top speed of my current bike) unless I'm going downhill or riding in late evening when there's hardly any traffic to look for. that and I'm used to the twist throttle on the ebike i have now, I've heard a lot of people say thumb throttles are easier. I'm yet to try out an ebike with that. also the one i have now folds and i can barely lift it at 45 pounds. i sure as heck won't be able to lift an ebike around 60? pounds like this one. it probably wouldn't fit in the backseat or trunk of my car so...a lot of pros and cons for me.

Really nice job with your machine! I've got a bike from China with a 2000W rear hub motor. It's pretty fast, but only a 48V battery. I wish I could up that V, but I do not have the skills to do it.

I bet there would be huge gains (acceleration) even with a 52v system with programming like this one has. Get them to make a 52v version as well, with high start current. I'll be the first customer 😎
Jack, I keep coming back to this video and reading the comments as well. This has to be one of my favorite X-Class videos on CZcams. I like the thumb throttle as well. I had a thumb throttle on my Super73 and liked it so much I put the thumb adapter over the twist throttle on my X-Class. What are you plans for replacement tires on your bike? I went for the Shinko 244 as they are lighter than the 241's. The 244 weighs 5.89 pounds and the 241 comes in at 6.29 pounds. I looked at the Shinko 567 street tires and I really love them but they weigh 8.4 pounds each. The flimsy original tires that I pulled off my bike only weighed 2.5 pounds each. I've read that one pound of rotational weight is equal to about 8.4 pounds of static weight. So my Shinko's have added about 28 pounds of static weight per tire. Luckily for me, I'm finally on a strict diet and have lost 28 pounds in the last month. I've got two more Static tire weights to go and get to my goal of 195 pounds! LOL My stock X-Class would still go 31 mph even with the heavy Shinkos and my fat 280 pound ass sitting atop it. Of course acceleration was slowed a little and it cut battery travel range by 30%.
Yea I'm not sure yet of which tire but finding the lightest is my aim. Thanks for sharing your findings on weight. I was wondering what the stock tires weigh. I would love to try some speedster tires but not if they increase rolling mass.
Did you mention the ah size of the battery? Is that battery the same case size as the original.. Or is it taller? I'm not sure I can get over 15 ah on the Kepler step through. The top frame is right over the stock 20 ah now 1 inch space on top of the battery left. Of course a wider battery case is no problem up to a point.
Was it a mistake to remove the pedals? Now you need a license plate, motorcycle driver's license, insurance, and can't ride on most bike paths. Because now you DO have a motorcycle.
Is your thumb throttle mostly an on/off or more able to modulate your speed. Really seems to me ebikes take a lot more power to go faster than 20 mph or so. Above 30 mph it takes way more amps and watts to get to 40.
anything over 20mph is less efficent the faster you go and the high surge adds up but people love taking a good thing and ruining it. There will be more stupid people, more who think they dont have to follow certain rules, and more who get into acidents. The point of ebikes is that you don't have register them but most want more speed yet dont want to deal with a motorcycle.

Hey Jack does the battery have a 50amp capable bms? If not your controller will only ever see what the battery bms can deliver. My calculations say that bms is still delivering 30amps. With a full 50amps at 67v you should see close to 3400w.
Yes, the controller has a 50a limit and the screen displays amperage. In these runs the controller is hitting 47-48a and at top speed settles in at 25-28a as the motor reaches its peak speed.

im hoping i can use but have to see plugs? i bought a mini 500c from a guy ar modded and i saw several people buy for xclass and said same as kepler but the display turns on gets right voltage but speedo or nothing else works and like stuck in locked, pas 2 position. but i switch to 52v 28rim and boosted speed but nothing and never heard again. i PRAY IT WORKS ON A KEPLER. i have two batteries 58.8v20h each i want to swicth to 60volt ahs?

Are you not required to have the “bike” registered, thus requiring annual state inspections, since there are no pedals? I prefer pedals as well as a grip throttle versus the thumb throttle.
Jack, I really wish you would wear some better shoes along with some gloves, shin, knee and elbow pads man. Some animal or some person is gonna jump out in front of you and you’re gonna land on your joints and hands.
Hmm.. My Kepler shows 46.4 mph with only 72% battery when I lift the rear wheel off the ground. I see no reason you couldn't add a second battery and even vent that controller box. Maybe I can do this with the Kepler to get another 5 mph or so? Nice!

The throttle response on my stock x class is quite quick. I suppose there is a tiny bit of lag but it is much quicker than most ebikes
Hook a 3000 watt 80 amp controller to it and run the 72 volt battery and see what happens

What made you do a 60V upgrade and not the 72V upgrade 3000W motor? I’ve seen videos of the 72V x class going 59 mph
I think the bike is too light to go 60 . At 35 sometimes seems a bit sketch. Not enough weight. I wouldn't want to go over 40 on it
I currently have a 52v x class with additional battery running parallel with a blender. If I changed to this controller would I get better top speed.

The controller works with 52v as well. You can select voltage in the menu.

It's very sensitive. I might try a full twist but i do like the thumb

That's no ebike. No pedals. I have the ultimate. Santa Cruz V10cc and bafang 2000w mid drive. I pedal up piles of boulders.
