We need to educate our Seniors. Everyday something needs to be made available to them to understand the depth of scamming, and how to avoid it.
I think the worst part about these scammers is they're getting really smart and it's not just old people getting scammed anymore. I've come really close to being scammed a couple times and I am in my mid-20s. These scammers are getting super sophisticated especially when you look at card skimmer technology.
@@floozyifywe tell my grandpa all the time about scammers :( he still falls for stuff though.. anytime he gets a call when I’m around we answer and try to shame the callers as much as we can.. my gramps is 92!!! Doesn’t need to deal with that stuff!!!!

I'm so sick of scammers. I work as a call center representative for a big company and I always receive scam calls. They pretend to be our "Valued" customers saying they wanted to cancel "their" subscription not even knowing what that subscription is specifically. The worst part is, they use abusive words to try and scare us when we start to verify the account. They thought we could easily give out customer information without verifying first. Sorry people we don't, we are very keen in protecting our customer information. We can't even see the account details if the account is not verified. It's all a blank screen. I only wish that the customers appreciate what we do when we verify the account coz it's for their own protection.

We live in a time where privacy is sooo important but scammers can call or text you on your own phone....ridiculous.

I have been doing precisely this since early 2000s after working as a TTY operator and seeing scams go through that service. She's doing it right!

Yes. My 87 year old father was scammed for $40,000.
someone tried to scam my mom’s dad recently by calling him and telling him my sister had been in a car accident and was in a life threatening condition at a hospital. at first he was just panicked and trying to find out more, then started suspecting it was a scam when they started talking insurance issues and saying she needed financial support. he did the right thing and hung up then and there and then called her. she didn’t answer because she had been safely at her job working the whole time. then he called my mom who confirmed my sister was at work and fine. absolutely ridiculous what scammers attempt to pull over on older people. disgusting and grotesque the way they try to use fear! think with your head not your emotions!
I hate these scammers with a passion. Rosie is great in the scam busting community and she does great voice impressions and her siri voice is great. Rosie is one cool lady. Keep on doing good work Rosie and take care.

If people simply let calls from unknown numbers go straight to voicemail, the vast majority of these scammers would go out of business.
Except now they are using common local area code VOIP numbers, or just spoofing numbers fairly close to yours to make u think it actually is a local call and not from the opposite end of the world.

If a number is not in your contact list, just don't answer the call.

I don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize.
If people would just answer these calls and waste as much of the scammers time as possible, they would never make a dime, and would go out of business. Letting them go to VM just allows them to quickly move on to the next potential victim.
