Comparison reviews are the best because they provide relative difference in across various criteria. Please keep making more comparison reviews. I'm waiting for Corolla Cross review and its comparison against other compact SUVs.
The Palisade suspension tuning is very American and Kia Carnival is a bit more OZ firm tuning. I personally like to drive on winding mountain roads and know how bad the surface can be on those roads, however given this is a 8seater comparison, handling on winding roads should be right down the bottom of priority list. So I prefer palisade's approach in suspension. There is no reason to criticize Palisade handling on urban roads, just different feelings in terms of responsiveness and wobblenes, nothing to do with the actual grip or controllability.
We love our kia carnival platinum - room for 3 carseats and 5 adults plus a boot full of gear. Amazing in the review you said "calm" because with 3 kids that's how we still feel in the kia. Sliding doors 🤗
Imagine telling someone twenty years ago that a Kia and a Hyundai would beat a Mercedes-Benz in a comparison 😄😄 Awesome review!! Really detailed and informative but also really entertaining 😃👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Oh and I agree with the Carnival being the winner 👍🏼😃
Great video Richard & Nedahl This type of comparative review is great. Anyone buying these type of vehicles with a petrol motor, clearly likes spending big $$$ on petrol. Diesel is the go. Power, Torque and Economy. Carnival is the best, but with diesel motor..
I think you guys have hit a good medium here with Richard & Nedahl. Nedahl tends to gloss over some things that Richard won't. Definitely caters to both types of buyers.
Why was 3rd row access not talked about more? For example you can remove the middle seat of the 2nd row in the carnival to create a walkway to allow you to use car seats on every seat without removing one to fold down a seat for 3rd row access. Do the others do that or anything similar? I genuinely don't know.
i guessed kia carnival would have enough space to fit all that stuff because my auntie has that car and when the family went camping they had a lot of stuff like an esky a tent stretcher beds blowup mattresses and a lot more and they fit it all in there carnival platnium
No mention of towing capacity but the least powerful vehicle, the Mercedes Valente has a tow capacity of 2500 kgs, followed by Palisade 2200 kgs and Carnival 2000 kgs. Toyota Granvia 1500 kgs.
Love to see a comparison or a review of the Carnival 7 seat with the captains chair and ottoman, and the digital dash (dual 12.3screens), which I heard is not available in Australia yet, is it going to be there soon?
Circular knobs are not safe. Also buttons facing upward on the console is poor design for cleaning. Dust, dirt ,crumbs falls on flat surfaces and get between buttons. All should offer shift or circular shift. Turning a knob requires looking down and figuring how many notches turned. My husband has a circular turn shift. My opinion is its dangerous.
Not that it would have made a huge difference. Definitely not enough for it to beat the KIA Carnival. Why didn't you lift the false floor of the Palisade and use the extra 'bucket compartment' for space?
Hi Guys, thanks for your wonderful comparison video but it would've been great if you have included the Toyota Sienna, Honda Odyssey and Chrysler Pacifica to the contest. Mercedes was not at all a good contestant for this..I've ordered myself top most trim of Carnival and waiting for the delivery of the vehicle. Greetings from Toronto.
If you’re comparing top spec Kia and Hyundai you really should compare to the V-Class, even though the price difference then blows out. You can’t compare apples to oranges just because of price.
Not only Kia Sorento the Hyundai Santa Fe is in the same boat of the airbags not extending to the third row. So not sure why would you not mention the Santa Fe for this shortcoming?
Funnily enough. I have owned all three makes on test new, had problems with all of them within the first twelve months. Since then I have owned a Mitsubishi and Toyota both three years old no issues at all just saying.
od only Kia makes hybrid carnival and sell it also in Europe. Great for family. only complain is that there is no way to have child seat in ISOFIX and get to 3rd row. Nissan has it on pathfinder, VW in atlas. still I want hybrid one in EU
Should have used the Mbenz Viano for this comparison The Viano is built specifically as a people mover, and therefore has refinement etc, unlike the Valente, which is based on this vehicle in a commercial van spec. Viano, not Valente... 🤷🏻♂️
Thanks for the great video, but I think the Mercedes-Benz V-Class should not be here. It should be compared with Volkswagen Multivan and Toyota Granvia, because they are all derived from the van.
The open middle instead of a council is great for getting to babies in back. Otherwise you must get out open the door to get to a babie in need. It's a feature I miss.
SUV - check! AWD - check! Most fuel efficient - check! Most luxurious NAPA leather - check! Most comfortable and good looking - check! Guys Palisade won hands down. I mean who wants to drive a van or bus just because it has bigger cargo boot lol??? Come on now, let's be real. This is why SUVs sell like hot cakes and vans are dying breed.
This has been one of the best video on this channel. Need more of these review, the differing point of view balances it out.
I was looking for a carnival for my family however my wife was reluctant, so after watching this video, she agreed with me. Thanks

Would love to see a review of the 7 seater Toyota Alphard
No chance they’ll review a parallel import. They’ll upset the official importers and risk future exclusives and access
Six figure sum.

My son in-law and his family are looking for the Palisade and they going to love it when they buy it!

The 2 best journo's on this channel.
Should of mentioned how the Pali is on a global suspension tune. Happy to be corrected.
Imagine telling someone twenty years ago that a Kia and a Hyundai would beat a Mercedes-Benz in a comparison 😄😄

This is a great comparison of the ones we've been looking at. Thank you!
Great video! Amazing. Would have like to see you compare the 2.2D Carnival
Really appreciate your comments on body roll! It's a reason I'll be looking at the Kia, but in AWD... and after the car drought has broken
Yep! Palisade!
I always enjoy your collaboration. What an excellent presentation 👏
Great video Richard & Nedahl
This type of comparative review is great.

I like shifters. Turn knob are the ones that can cause accidents.

Would love to get a carnival however no awd is a deal breaker so it would be a palisade
yeah same for me if only the carnival comes with awd
I have palisade, best car in the world
i guessed kia carnival would have enough space to fit all that stuff because my auntie has that car and when the family went camping they had a lot of stuff like an esky a tent stretcher beds blowup mattresses and a lot more and they fit it all in there carnival platnium
Good one...very comprehensive...I think it's a review that adds value to buyers decision making process
Well i like this video, its more like a program than a vlog and with a documentary touch. Its a carnival of reviews.
No mention of towing capacity but the least powerful vehicle, the Mercedes Valente has a tow capacity of 2500 kgs, followed by Palisade 2200 kgs and Carnival 2000 kgs. Toyota Granvia 1500 kgs.
The man in the back of the Valente like a super stalker 😅😅😅😅

A great review with great people really enjoyed it
Excited to own the carnival 2021
Its time to do the comaparison again, bit now with huyndai Sataria. I really want to see that
Russian Volga had buttons for shifts - 1 2 3 4 and R, N, P

The Valente would be great for a Sports coach transporting the team, but not for the average large family.
Wonder how many are choosing the top of the range cars....not many I think and its a load of money.
You can't compare they are 3 different class
Not that it would have made a huge difference. Definitely not enough for it to beat the KIA Carnival. Why didn't you lift the false floor of the Palisade and use the extra 'bucket compartment' for space?
Such a good review from both Mum and Dad perspectives!

There is a person at the back where you drove the Valente
Well done guys. Very good review. Really enjoy watching it! #TeamKIA
Glad you enjoyed it!
20:50 about to refer to the Hyundai as the current premier of QLD? I get it, they’re very similar to each other.
Hi please tell me about snow drive experience
Awesome comparison video

17 l per 100k that is a lot what was the average on the highway?
Not only Kia Sorento the Hyundai Santa Fe is in the same boat of the airbags not extending to the third row. So not sure why would you not mention the Santa Fe for this shortcoming?
Yes it sure is the best vehicle I've EVER owned kia carnival
And I love the hp it has 290 most out of all the vans
...third row is for Nedahl sized people or kids 😎
Hyundai Staria is going to change everything yet again
Nah still fwd and looks rubbish perfer Hyundai imax over that
@@magicheats8291 way to trash talk cause u hate hyundai
Funnily enough. I have owned all three makes on test new, had problems with all of them within the first twelve months. Since then I have owned a Mitsubishi and Toyota both three years old no issues at all just saying.
Would be keen to learn about the issues you experienced with the Palisade and Carnival.
17:35 this is absolute BS. The stick doesn’t work when above a certain speed. Certainly not at lane change speeds.
od only Kia makes hybrid carnival and sell it also in Europe. Great for family. only complain is that there is no way to have child seat in ISOFIX and get to 3rd row. Nissan has it on pathfinder, VW in atlas. still I want hybrid one in EU
Is the Valente just below the Viano in the Mercedes line up?
Kia Carnival is fabulous
But loves the fuels it’s only negative about this.
Great to drive very comfortable for a family.
There's the diesel powerplant option, which would have put it on an even keel to the other two vehicles in this comparison.
Good information😀
Should have used the Mbenz Viano for this comparison
The Viano is built specifically as a people mover, and therefore has refinement etc, unlike the Valente, which is based on this vehicle in a commercial van spec.
Viano, not Valente...
🤷🏻♂️
The via o is replaced by the V class/Valente
Thanks for the great video, but I think the Mercedes-Benz V-Class should not be here. It should be compared with Volkswagen Multivan and Toyota Granvia, because they are all derived from the van.
I love KIA Carnival brand new near $ 50 K
Wonder how Subaru will go making a minivan
Woa those fuel usage figures are horrible! I thought Subaru Outback XT was bad but it seems to still be better than Kia Carnival.
At least in US the prestige only comes in leather seats
Why wouldn’t yous compare the Kia with diesel! Doesn’t make sense tbh
Where is the Toyota granvia or Toyota Land Cruiser or Nissan Patrol or Lexus lx or Hyundai IMAX
I wish that I could watch your video a week earlier , I just bought a valente and it really did not impressed me.
I guess the staria wasn't out yet shoulda been an all Korean affair.
The open middle instead of a council is great for getting to babies in back. Otherwise you must get out open the door to get to a babie in need. It's a feature I miss.
Test drive the Toyota Granvia vx
If thats what I am getting in a mercedes, I may aswell never look back at the brand especially at that price!
It isn’t the usual affair for merc. Essentially it is a van with seats. Like a hi-ace with seats.
Kia and MB have leatherette seating. Is it Jaguar (or Range Rover) that dresses that up as vegan leather?
The Mercedes park brake 😂
As if nobody notices it's simply a huge caravan
SUV - check! AWD - check! Most fuel efficient - check! Most luxurious NAPA leather - check! Most comfortable and good looking - check! Guys Palisade won hands down. I mean who wants to drive a van or bus just because it has bigger cargo boot lol??? Come on now, let's be real. This is why SUVs sell like hot cakes and vans are dying breed.
Well if you care for driver’s pleasure, buy palisade but if you care for other 7 family member’s comfort on long journeys buy Carnival
@@honeyb3603 lol the whole reason you buy a big vehicle is for the family on those long drives
The Valento is clearly the poor mans car here. Seriously overrated badge & under done in this department. No match for the Koreans.
.....no iMax....
buy carnival and put Mercedes badge. solution
The male presenter is annoying. He thinks he is funny .. but far from it
The palisade has less power and torque than a CX5 and its a bigger car LOL. Mazdas have always had better engines in their SUV'S than Hyundai and kia.
