Yeah well $100k peice of equipment you reley apon for your livelyhood shouldn't fail on you constantly. Emissions controls are the biggest scam. Ask yourself why cargo freighters don't have emissions controls.

I was in a jam and so far this helped me out. Driving a 2014 Hino 195H. Keeping track of how long this is working, until my mechanics & dealer come up with solution. Thank you again!

Didn’t work for me. I run a trash company and I’ve had nothing but DEF issues even on new trucks. I’m at the shop dropping off a 2020 that likes going into limp mode. I’ve had bad luck with all my Hinos. Wish we could go back to pre DEF systems.

  • @awperonline6576

How long does doing this last for? A week? Month? Day? Is it a serious problem that needs to be fixed or just a faulty sensor?

Yeah the problem is a pain in the ass. Happens to me a bunch of times. When little turtle comes on without warning and your on the highway it frigging dangerous. I drive a Hi no flat bed tow truck for a Montreal tow outfit. I hate that light. Basically the engine performance changes and I go from cruising speed to about 85 km (55 mph), then 45kms (35 mph), to 20kms (about 25 mph). No warning just low performance and trying to get off the highway before I get to 25 mph. When our garage took it to the dealer it wouldn't go faster than 12 km (about 15 mph). It's annoying to think this system is only for the D.E.F. system. The shuddering and vibration when things go bad and the little turtle light comes on is terrible. I turn the truck off and wait 10 minutes. That usually fixes it for some time. But as its doing it tonight maybe I'll try your solution. I turned it off three times already. Thank you for the info.
