Hi everyone! I see that this video has been getting a lot of traffic lately because of the Taylor Swift rumors so I just wanted to address a few things about Matty. I am a fan (obviously) of the 1975 and was a fan of Matty, I still like him as an artist but not more than that, sadly he has lost a great deal of my respect this year after these scandals. I, as a fan don't condone his behavior and the things he has said. I know he has "apologized" but I rather wish he could actually talk about these problems and give a more sincere apology than the one he gave at the concert in Auckland. I understand that Swifties are appalled by Matty after reading about his latest scandals but I don't allow the comment section to be filled with hate comments, I simply don't want that negativity here. For any consolation to the Swifties is that I think this might be short-lived. Personally I don't see how they fit together and I find this quick rebound relationship quite toxic for both of them but then again I don't have a personal say in celebrities dating life. Either way, I just wanted to voice my opinion about the situation here since this video more or less blew up.
Thanks Steely for the thoughtful remarks and reminders to people posting here. I also don't see Taylor as a 'fit' with Matty. As a huge Swiftie, I can only say let her find her way, and leave it at that.
@@robindebacker thank you for your kind comment. I had to moderate this comment section a lot lately so I felt like I had to say something. The band is not that big so people outside the 1975's fandom don't know how much drama it has been this year because almost every 1975 fan felt extremely let down by Matty. All his past scandals from earlier this year has now blown up even bigger than before because of this "relationship". We wanted to hold Matty accountable for his actions instead of canceling him because it's about time he learn how to behave as a public person with a lot of influence on people. We'll see how all of this pans out, hopefully soon everything will wind down for all of us.
You're one of the "good un's" not just following blindlessly but being critical too. Mad respect to you for that in a world full of the "pied pipered".
Oh they really are ! I got my partner into the 1975 and took him to their recent concert in Sydney and he loved it, said he just loved the energy there ! 10/10 would recommend !
That’s because they are an excellent band, stage show, lighting and sound are absolutely brilliant, and the crowd is always up for it.. Not a huge fan by any means, but would definitely go see them again.
As a fellow Geordie Healy (sadly not related as far as I know) - YES we all for the slightly under the influence chaos and would love to see him live some day!
I just don’t get the hate, yeah he has said some questionable things lately, but who hasn’t said things they may regret at some point. No disputing the fact he is a very talented artist, as are the rest of the band. As far as I’m aware he has been sober for a good few years now, and while he does have some drink, he certainly doesn’t have as much as it appears. The whole 1975 concert experience is a gimmick, just like when he is about to say something and the band cuts him off, I’m sure this is all planned before they take to the stage. Because they (the rest of the band)do it to him all the time. As for all these KARENS who have an issue with him smoking and drinking, get a grip, so I guess NONE of you have a drink, or a smoke?? Get real And finally, all the Taylor Swift fans meltdowns are becoming tedious and embarrassing. They are both adults, if they wanna see each other, I’m sure it’s up to them and not YOU! Get over it, seriously, and if rumours are true that they have decided to not see each other, because of the pressure of fans, then imo that’s seriously messed up. No one should tell you who you can or cannot have a relationship with..
It’s not that serious. Matty and Taylor has been acquaintances for years (started with her being a fan just like Halsey). That spring fling in may was probably just for fun and no hard feelings were involved when they “broke up”. Matty seems healthy on his own now and things will be better for him now he realized how important his career, band mates, family, friends and fans are over being a trickster on and off stage. Even if the hate was bad I hope Matty has learned that the these are the consequences of losing one’s head in public can be like.
