  • Come along with me as we attend the 2024 Kent Williams Bee School with EAS Master beekeeper, Kent Williams. Located on his farm in Wingo, Kentucky, Kent and a few volunteers from the Lake Barkley Beekeepers Association, take the time to demonstrate and teach a variety of beekeeping practices to beekeepers from all over the country. Techniques such as walk-away splits, mite washes, hive inspections, queen grafting , and more are discussed and demonstrated in great detail. A wealth of knowledge, Kent has forgotten more about beekeeping than most people will ever know!
The bee school is every April and lasts for three days. Highly recommended for beekeepers of any age and level of experience. Kent has something for everyone. I can’t wait to go back next year!

Whoop Whoop..”that’s a pretty good larva there” good job! We were going to try grafting this year..we’ve said that for the last 3-4 years..and just ran out of time..we’re in a full on flow now so we possibly may still try in a few weeks but will probably be tied down to slinging for a week or so..maybe next year!! We’ve also wanted to go to Kent’s beeks weekend ever since we met him and were invited probably 6-7 years ago and just haven’t done it!! That’s another “maybe next year” he is so awesome!! And so full of knowledge! I can’t imagine what it would be like to have a memory like his!! Makes my brain hurt thinking about it..and he’s so funny also. Most people that are so smart a lot of the time are not personable, fun to bee around people..but he certainly is! Thanks for sharing!!

It was so great hanging out with him for a few days and following him around like a little puppy. 🤣🤣🤣 He’s a wealth of bee knowledge and I was trying to soak every ounce up like a sponge!! I can’t recommend going enough. Not just because of Kent, but there were so many wonderful people I got to talk to and interact with. And we all love talking about bees endlessly!!!! 😂😂😂 Thanks for watching and I’m glad you liked the video. There’s more of Kent so stay tuned!!!

That was a fun an very educational three day's with a awesome teacher. It was nice meeting you there Josh along with all the other beekeepers, we had good time and learned a lot just listening to a master beekeeper answering questions. Hopefully we can attend next next years bee school.✌️

I tried grafting this year and it is hard to see them! Bright light and a bit of magnification helps. It is daunting but isn’t that hard. If you get one of the wrong age they just won’t make it into a queen cell.

Haha, yes, it requires some good eyesight! And they will canibalize the brood if it’s too old according to Kent.
