No one can hurt you more than the family you love.
So true😢
Absolutely!
bro, unfortunately you are right.
Amen
That's for sure!
To forgive the man who murdered my son was the most difficult, yet freeing thing I have ever done in my life. Because of that Jesus has given me so many graces that probably I never would have received, or even noticed if I hadn’t gone through such a traumatic encounter. And one way to spread this forgiveness is that I will soon be talking in jails about forgiveness to other prisoners and jail staff.
God bless you. I'm so sorry for the pain you had to go through. I am thankful the Lord is using you in his work.
Deepest heartfelt condolences on the loss of your son. May the ministry God has given you result in many conversions and lots of healing 🙏
The lord bless you and your ministry mightily
God bless you for your forgiveness and accepting God's graces, ❤ ✝️
God bless you.
I appreciate this Homily a lot Father Mark. The pain caused by a lack of forgiveness to both parties is so real. Praying for reconciliation within my extended family. 🙏❤️🔥🕊️

Father Mark is a beacon of light in a world full of darkness.
Jesus Christ IS The Light in a world of darkness. No human can supersede Jesus’ light. Except in a human-venerating religion.
I pray for all families to forgive each other if there are any hurts done, so important to the Holy Family, Jesus, Mary and Joseph ! ✝️🙏🥰🇺🇸
The Pater Noster is my go to prayer to help me with forgiveness and it really helps in a profound way.
Especially when I Pray it slowly and sentence by sentence. ❤
We recently discovered my adopted sister took advantage of mom's dementia and went on a month long spending spree with her bank card before disappearing.
Right now, I'm not surprised at Joseph's reaction on encountering his miscreant brothers.
The story of Joseph is so moving.
Brings tears 😢to my eyes.
Every year I cry when I listen to it! It’s my favourite story in the old Gospel!
I still say special prayers for the priest - and will always remember that day - who gave me absolution during my general confession.
The hardest thing is our pride. I will forgive, but it is hard not to forget how much a family member can do so harm with alcoholism
We're not called to forget, only forgiveness..❤❤
Pride iis often at the root of unforgiveness : we hold onto our grudges as though we're victim of a crime of lèse-majesté. Actually, if we only received what we actually deserve, it would be quite a humbling experience.
Grant us not what we truly deserve, Lord, but good health in mind and body?
I love your homilies Father Mark. They re a daily part of my prayer life. Thank you. Gods blessings on all the Companions of the Cross ❤️🕊🔥
Same. Very practical and on point. ❤
Amen and amine!
♥️ “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” (Ephesians 4:32)
♥️ “For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” (Matthew 6:14-15)
♥️ “Then Peter came and said to him, ‘Lord, if another member of the church sins against me, how often should I forgive? As many as seven times?’ Jesus said to him, ‘Not seven times, but, I tell you, seventy-seven times.’” (Matthew 18:21-22)
♥️ “There are many kinds of alms, the giving of which helps us to obtain pardon for our sins; but none is greater than that by which we forgive from our heart a sin that someone has committed against us.” - St. Augustine
Excellent homily!! ♥️ Our Lord Jesus taught us to forgive others, as did the saints. There are numerous examples of the saints expressing forgiveness, such as St. Maria Goretti forgiving her attacker Alessandro, and St. Ignatius of Loyola walking a hundred miles during the winter to nurse an ill man who only a few weeks earlier had stolen St. Ignatius’s small amount of savings. St. John Vianney once said, “The saints have no hatred, no bitterness; they forgive everything, and think they deserve much more for their offenses against God.” The saints were able to honestly admit their own sins so it was easy for them to forgive others, something that must become a way of life for all of us. Thank you Father Mark. God bless you always!!
♥️ “We all need to be forgiven by others, so we must all be ready to forgive.
The only way to peace is forgiveness. Forgiveness demonstrates the presence in the world of the love which is more powerful than sin. Thanks to the healing power of love, even the most wounded heart can experience the liberating encounter with forgiveness.” - Pope St. John Paul II
♥️ “I cannot believe that a soul which has arrived so near to Mercy itself, where she knows what she is, and how many sins God has forgiven her, should not instantly and willingly forgive others, and be pacified and wish well to everyone who has injured her, because she remembers the kindness and favours our Lord has shown her, whereby she has seen proofs of exceeding great love, and she is glad to have an opportunity offered to show some gratitude to her Lord.” - St. Teresa of Avila
♥️ “He who knows how to forgive prepares for himself many graces from God. As often as I look upon the cross, so often will I forgive with all my heart” - St. Faustina (Diary, 390)
♥️ “To err is human, to forgive divine.” - Alexander Pope
♥️ Viva Cristo Rey! ♥️
May healing through love come to all.
Thank you for this, Fr. Mark! I have found time and again that when I am hurt by someone and hold on to that hurt, it feels like a continuous sabotage of my own dignity, brought on by myself, whereas when I forgive the person who hurt me, my dignity returns to me, and yes, I have a feeling of peace too.
Being a child of God gives us true freedom when we live in His light.
We are asked to forgive not 7 times, but 77 times.. hard to forget, but we must all try! Most of all, we have to forgive ourselves. St. Maria Goretti is a good model to emulate
OUTSTANDING Homily today Father!! I am sharing this far and wide. Once I learned that forgiveness does not mean condoning the behavior, it became easier. God bless you for all the good that you do! 🙏🙏🙏
To error is human; to forgive is divine. We definitely need God’s help to truly forgive.
The Lords prayer says, “forgive us as we forgive others”
You are so gifted Fr. Mark. Your homilies are truly messafes from the Holy Spirit. Thank you for not holding back. Viva Cristo Rey
During my awakening back into my faith.. There was a moment... When I was so lost in sorrow about my sins, and the hurt others brought to me.. I was literally feeling the weight and despair of it all..... Then it happened all at once..
It was if I picked it up off me and threw it.. and Suddenly called out.. "I don't care anymore!!"
meaning I forgave.. and asked for forgiveness.. and chucked that huge weight into the trash boiler...
It was an amazing moment.. I still had lots to learn about Forgiveness... and I suggest Father Ubald... a Great man and Priest from Rwanda... Through him I learned how freeing forgiveness is... and that Forgiveness.. is actually for You.. because it's you that carries that burden.. The other person might never even think about it and is just fine.. but you.. you are held down by it and it leads to anger, bitterness... etc.
Forgiveness I believe is the backbone of returning to God and letting go of oneself and the world.. for the Love and Mercy of God.. because as Fr. Mark said... when you forgive.. you are forgiven... God is Faithfull to His Word... always.
God Bless!
Everyday I say this pray which I wrote May the Blood n Water from JESUS CHRIST Curcified n The Tears his MOTHER Shed at the Foot of Cross wash away our Sins n Cleans Our Soul AMEN🙏🙏🙏🙏
🙏JESUS IS THE ALPHA n OMEGA AMEN🙏
This was a very eye opening video. Nice dissection of the stories Father. Thank you for your fiery passion and service.
Amen Amen Amen
He who does not forgive destroys the bridge that he himself must cross.
Lord give me the Grace to always forgive.
Thank you Fr Mark
Love this beautiful Reading so much
Thank you, God bless you all . Praise be to God.
I see when he cried about what they did to him. Poor Joseph.
#26 👍 Thank you Father ! May we all be forgiven !
May we all forgive others.
PRAISE GOD
ITS THE BEST FEELING WHEN YOU FORGIVE , PRAY AND MOVE FORWARD BY THE GRACE OF GOD.
After so many years Joseph's heart was still wounded as he cried loudly as in the reading. We try to block out the memory but it will return. Sometimes the offending person takes advantage because they know as Christians we have to forgive. But there has to be correction.
Thank you, Amen, Amen 🙏🏼🙏🏼🕊📖🕊🦋🦋🦋🦋🩵🩵🌎Father Mark Goring,
Brilliant! Thank you Fr Mark.
Fr Mark,,,I went to confess in the Vatican after 40 years, and from that moment on my life has changed. The sins of the past and present were forgiven and forgotten.Thank you Fr Mark your homilies are always so spot on …👍🦘🙏🏻🦘🫵🦘
Humans hurt, betray and wound. Its bern going on since the beginning of time. ..theres a lesson in the Our Father. I think God knows how painful betrayal is.😢
Please pray for my family
My in-laws have been so indifferent to me for the longest so I prayed to Jesus to show me who these people truly are. It was revealed to me in the most unexplained, glorious way their racist Facebook messages calling blacks the N word. Someone close to me sent me a voice recording of these people calling blacks bad words.
I truly can’t explain it but I know now that God was trying to protect me when they were indifferent towards me. He knew who these people are and was isolating me from them.
I hear you Lord, and I am listening.
Praise be to God🙏
That’s the hard part. I will myself to forgive immediately but the pain sometimes makes me feel I haven’t forgiven. Forgiveness doesn’t take away the pain immediately. So how do you know you have truly forgiven. Yes, I have to forgive as I need forgiveness from God. ❤
Father Roman Pons, SSPX, TOLD me, you forgive by acting AS IF you have forgotten the wounds"......memories will remain but the forgiveness, for love of God, remains.
Love the Blessed Mother! Never, ever let go of her guiding hand that will lead us to Jesus. Pray the Rosary daily for her intentions. Love her by living in the Divine Will of her Son, Jesus.
God Bless
I believe that the hurt family members put on one another run deeper than many others . In my own family i have seen wounds that were never healed. Its so sad. Life is way too short for that.
“rrrrrrrrrrrrrr………….I forgive………..Hail Mary, full of grace”
We are most hurt by the one we love the most.❤❤❤
Alish, you are absolutely “spot on”. But for some it’s “ones”.
Gem!
Guilt does crazy things to people. Some of my worst girl bullies would see me from time to time and would act like we were friends. It threw me off for second because I thought they were planning to do something mean. When I saw them, I used to walk or run the other way. Eventually, I pretended that I did not know them. I was OK with all of this, but they weren’t. They wanted me to pretend we were friends to relieve their guilt, but I could not do it.
I can’t even imagine what Joseph’s brothers went through. They did something very bad which hurt their father. People should really think about the guilt they will feel in the future when they want to do something terrible.
Please understand that I am no saint. I have trolled many conmen on the internet and they have blocked me, which was well deserved.
Gospel for today's daily mass 🙏 forgiveness
It is so true Father Mark what you said in your homily. God bless you.
Gracias, Father Mark.
Thank you Father Mark for explaining this gospel in the Old Testament, at time's forgiveness can be difficult & in prayer asking for God to give us a heart of forgiveness along with the Our Father.
Awesome as always
He forgave us first so we must forgive also
God bless you for your forgiveness and accepting God's forgiveness is a grace as well.❤
This Fr Mark is one of those truly excellent videos I’ll keep because it shows how God work’s through and continues to work through our broken heart’s mind’s spirit’s emotion’s etc. regardless of how much time has passed - I find this truly awesome beautiful and inspirational. God bless. Praise Jesus and Mary always!!!
amen, true "forgiveness comes from Heaven", and with it, our Father's Love (the purest form of Love we will ever experience), accompanies His forgivness, a wonderful, wonderful gift!
Thank you, God bless you all 🙏❤
Amen........ amen......!!!
Keep tellin' it Fr. Mark......!!!
Amen, Father Goring!
I believe in the forgivenes of sins. Ultimately the Holy Spirit decides/ knows whose sins are ret
ained. There will be those 'goats' and then redeemed sheep on Judgement Day. I pray to be on the right side. We shall be healed.
Yes- our LORD has experienced betrayal !!!- He can identify with us in our humanity
Fr. you said it wrong twice: we have to forgive everyone who has hurt us/ not forgiven us!!!
Forgiveness is not an optional extra as widely believed. How many times have we heard, 'I'll never forgive....'
But the traffic analogy..... I will remember that. Thank you Fr. Mark. Viva Christo Rey!
You preach with love and the power of god Viva CRISTO REY 👑
It's funny how life repeats itself😐😑 2000 years later🙂😉🙄☝️
A good sermon brother🙏
Thank you fr Mark Goring 🙏 for the blessed homily talk may God keep you always strong in his hand.
Vengeance is a personal pocession of Our Father God in Heaven. When we forgive we are recognizing that fact, and giving over to Our Father any thoughts of vengeance. So forgive any and all of anything and everything. Our Father God will take care of the repercussions, for vengeance is The Lords.
Amen
Forgiveness has to be ASKED. Too many people think they don't sin. Or justify it.
Start with sincere prayer, ask God to help you forgive. Everything is in his hands
Thank you Father Mark for this homily about forgiveness. I have found in my life that if I can say just a quick prayer, like a Hail Mary (like you said!) for a person that has wronged me, I can go on in peace and leave the other person in the Lord's hands. It's not always easy. But a couple of times when I've done this I later found out the person who hurt me had tremendous pain from wrongs that were done to them. So it kind of amounts to sharing the chain of hurt or breaking that chain and passing on God's goodness.
Maranatha!!
❤
You are right. Not easy but must be done. ❤️
We've got to want to be healed, to go to Our Lord and to accept His forgiveness.
Wonderful sermon on a very very important subject. Thank You Father Mark.
The funny thing is that forgiveness benefits the forgiver most. Thanks so much Fr. Goring for your postings.
Amen 🙏
When someone say’s there’ll never forgive,(it’s usually to do with feeling’s which is wrong - feeling’s will come in time but to begin with it’s an act of the will, yes still hard),but also they are deceived into believing there still hurting the person they won’t forgive which is from satan. The only person you hurt when you don’t forgive is yourself and you are still a slave of the person who hurt you! God bless.
You said a few times “forgive those who’ve ever forgiven us.” Pretty sure you meant “forgive those who’ve ever wronged you.”
Isn’t that beautiful if you think about it? I noticed this also. Fr Mark has forgiveness so ingrained in his mind that he completely forgets the word “wronged”.
Amen!!!!
AVE CHRISTUS REX
Sometimes Your siblings and "friends" ARE the Hot Potato's. You NEED to reject them until they repent. They will kill your soul. Forgive them? YES! Trust them? NO!
If I have no humility then in reality I have no peace with our Lord. I know one thing for sure there is a God and it is not me. No forgiveness then no inner peace and love for Jesus. Of course that is easy to say , hard to carry out.
I know that very well about families
Does anyone else wait for him to say Viva Christo Rey at the end of his homily and then remember it's his homily, not a regular video? 🙄
im no Jacob. In fact I am nobody but Mark is probably my favourite Priest.
Love
I agree with a previous comment that knowingly or unknowingly your family can hurt you the most . Does not have to be directed against me but when I look at my children I often think life could be so different . Being an only child I was begging my parents if my mother didn’t want another child at least adopt one but even that never happened …
Thank you
In other words, learn fast how to truly forgive and forgive asap or now, not when you're dying.
It's not forgiving people who forgive you. You must forgive period, whether people forgive you or not. Forgiveness is unconditional in God's eyes. Forgive as HE has forgiveness us. Because while we were still sinners Christ died for us.
I was called to the Senate of Canada to give submissions and I had the temerity to question the the courts and to report on judicial corruption (I'm quoted a few times in the final report to Parliament called for the sake of the children). For my efforts they took my daughter and knowingly and with malice aforethought placed her in a very abusive home. She is 29 and never worked. On permanent mental disability who threatens suicide far to regular and hates me for not saving her. There are evil people doing evil things in this world. They are in charge. There is a time to heal.
What goes around is on its way back to the roost
Forgivness makes more sense when the perpetrator shows remorse.
Fr. Mark, aren't we supposed to forgive all whether they have forgiven us or not?
👍
🙏🏼✝️✌🏼🛐👍🏻☦️❤️🔥
Hi Fr. Mark. I struggle with unforgiveness towards my nasty neighbours and my troublesome father. I do pray for my father every day and try to pray for these neighbours, but deep down I just wish that the neighbours would die. There's no other way to say it
My father is a very difficult person to love. He's practically dependent on people for everything and yet is so ungrateful and demanding.
I really hate to see my mother suffer from his and the neighbours' antics.
God bless.🙏🙏
Praying and doing sacrifices for those who harm us is what Christ tells us to do. Imagine if they convert and become sweet, Holy, dutiful and wise!!! Wishing for their conversion is healthy. Wishing them to die is toxic for us. God is patient.
I forgive wholeheartedly and if my enemy needs help 'll give it to them lovingly. However, in the presence of crime /abuse of any kind I will not rest my case before justice too is served. Only when that happens can my woundedness and brokenness start to heal. Likewise, I expect and accept from God any anguish that comes to me as a way to do justice to those whom I might have hurt in the past.
🙏🙏🙏♥️♥️♥️😇😇😇🌹🌹🌹
