mans defense was so good he stopped north korea from launch a nuke
bro you are hilarious lol
underrated comment
Most underrated comment bruh😂😂😂😂
Damn, good one.
Nowadays he would team up with North Korea
Rodman didn't even need to score to be an all-star.
FACTS FACTS FACTS
like another pistons ben Wallace.
@God #1 Lebron #2 how did they "stack the deck" idiot? Bulls had Jordan, Pippen and Rodman, the magic had Shaq, penny and Grant. All Bulls did was even the playing field.
@God #1 Lebron #2 um FYI that's what even the playing field means.
@God #1 Lebron #2 in the early 90s there was no such thing as a " big 3" or at least term didn't exist however there were still old Bulls shirts that had Jordan, Pippen and Grant in the front so that showed he was recognized for his contributions to the team.
Defense so good he never needed to prove anything else. Crazy, i can't think of anyone else like him..
You are right bro
Bill Russell is his predecessor. Ben Wallace is another that comes to mind
Nobody like him. Tony Allen defended like him but obviously he wasn't born with the physical gifts.
Scottie pippen
Montrez Harrell. 🌟💯💯
People be all praises to Jordan’s Bulls never realizing how lucky Jordan is playing with 2 of the best defensive guys in the 90s in Rodman and Pippen
Evil Patrick Jordan wasnt a slouch either. Forgot he won DPOY?
@@Ducyaerrday he won that inlet his peak. He wasnt as great a defender by the time rod came around. Not that he was a slouch but he had lost a step after that short retirement. He relied alot more on scottie and rod to take care of alot of the bigger defensive responsibilities in order to sustain his energy.
How lucky rodman playing with the goat..
@@jrbbbb2145 Rodman was a future hofer before he even stepped foot in Chicago. He didnt need Jordan, Jordan needed him.
@@TheIcemanthomas jordan has 3rings before rodman came to the bulls..
Rodman had everyone on lock.. Jordan, Barkley, Shaq, Olajuwon, Magic, Ewing, mailman... he is the best defender of all time..
You are right except the list should not include Jordan...
wouldnt say he had any of them on lock. He was just really good at defending them as opposed to the rest of the league
He was on the pistons
zhugelianges he was on the pistons 🏀 maybe that’s what he was talking about
Def
Dennis Rodman probably the only player in history of basketball to make into the HOF exclusively for defense and rebounding.
Yah, I can't imagine or remember any player can enter HOF due to defense only...Ben Wallace in the future? Probably? Hard to say, man
*1996 Bulls were undoubtedly the best team ever, here's why:* They were the best defensive team of all time. They had arguably 3 of the best defenders ever in Pippen, Rodman and Jordan. They also had Harper and some other pieces who all played great defense. They were extremely tough mentally and physically, they were the most focused, competitive, and cold-blooded team I've ever seen. There were many times where they literally looked like a bunch of possessed savages coming for your soul. They had the greatest player ever in Michael Jordan, who is also, of course, the best offensive player ever. Many times Rodman, by himself, had more rebounds than the opposing team. I mean you could go on, and on, and on ... about 96' Bulls. I've been watching basketball for almost 30 years now, they are without a doubt, the best team of all time. I'm very confident and comfortable saying that
hear hear
Man you are damn right, when you have the GOAT, the best offensive player all time, and the best defensive player all time, you are hard to lose. Don't tell me 2017 Warriors, they can't even beat the Spurs if not for the FUCKING Pachulia
zhugelianges the warriors were better lol who tf did the bulls play in the finals that even came close to the warriors? The game has evolved old man give it a rest.
@@EmperorBeastKaido these players soft Detroit back then would scare new players everything is a foul now
Poor harper in any other team he would have been mentioned as their main star.
Let’s appreciate Rodman locking down Shaw with a 4 inch and probably 65+ pound difference. God damn insane
That's why he's probably one of the defensive GOAT
More like a 6 inch and 100 pound difference
with the inhuman strength, awareness and will , rodman is absolutely a genius in man-to-man defense
And the defensive awareness also
Why don’t people ever talk about him being a top 10 player of all time. He averaged like 16-15 rebounds a game at 6’6. Was the only DVP with less than a steal and block a game (that just Lets you know he was just stopping everybody before he even tried to attempt a steak or block. Made the playoffs with every team he’s been on (except the lakers). He literally had a impact on every team he played on without even scoring. If the media didnt glorify offense so much and let the antics of Rodman clog their view of his actual worth. People would easily rank him top 10 I’ll even say top 5 honestly.
mostly people see value of offense more than defense. But MVP and top 10 offense player in NBA. They are all know how much value rod is .
worm for MVP
I guess one reason is it's hard to quantify a "good defender" since points against, fg% againts, etc etc but if you've seen the worm play in the days you would really understand how much he brings to the team specially on the def side of the ball.
that's because most of the top 15 to 30 players all time were 2 way guys with better resumes than Rodman. Rodman was great at what he did, but he was a one sided player and that's not enough to get u in that type of discussion. The only exception to that is Russel because he was still a decent scorer at 17 a game and passer at 4 a game to go along with his defense.
411ward he not even top 80 all time
In this generation of basketball, Rodman would always get fouled out with that kind of play.. 😂*sigh how I miss the 90's
No he wouldn’t.
Since when Still is. Be quiet.
Kinse De Mayo they dont need to battle rodman every play because they can shoot tons of threes so why deffense ability of the worm is effective today
Nah, fouling was already fucked by then. The moment Jordan entered the league they made sure to crack down on any form of contact so he could get more plays.
Albert Einstein Wrong. Nice sample size.
Like Joe Dumars said, Rodman doesn't just guard for a little, he clamps you down, like shut down the opposing players.
The true defensive master that can defend from 1 to 5
@@zhugelianges Exactly, and they say LeBron guards all position. This is what guarding all position looks like, shutting down Shaq of all people lol.
@@feelcollins4358 I mean lebron has the capability and size to guard all five at times. He cant do it consistently because he relies on his athleticism defensively as opposed to positioning, and IQ on that end. Pretty sure if lebron rely focused defensively he could do what Draymond does but hes inconsistent defensively. Rodmans biggest asset was his relentless effort and his intellect.
@@TheIcemanthomas Being fearless and tenacious is not something that can be taught, LeBron doesn't have that quality Rodman does which is why he can't do the things he did defensively even though he has a larger body. Maybe he can guard and switch but he can never terrorise his man and lock him down most of the game like Rodman did.
@@feelcollins4358 never said it could be taught. Theres a reason I described rodmans strengths. It showcased lebrons lack of effort on defense without saying it full out. I figured it didnt need to be said because its obvious. But lebron has showcased that lockdown abilty when hes focused as I said. Hes always focused on offense first, where as rodmans main tool was always defense because he lacked versatility on the other end. Lebron was almost dpoy twice for a reason. He plays lockdown defense in spurts like most of the greats, but it was never a focus. Only a select few did it as consistently and as relentless as Rodman so it's hard to compare
The true definition of Hustle and Grit. Making defense and rebounding an art form. Thank you Dennis!
Art of defense and defensive G.O.A.T. (could be)
From Dennis Rodman to Hanamichi in Slam Dunk. Love both of them!!! They're the ones who inspired me to play the basketball
I love them both! Period lol
who is hanamichi?
@@firmansby6138 tokoh komik jepang yang juga terinspirasi dengan denis rodman
Sakuragi Hanamichi is Dennis Rodman
@@mdnoszyekov2967 yea the thing im realy impresed is the manga autor put rodman in bulls jersey before rodman got the the bulls

What's most impressive is Dennis Rodman was 34 when he went to the bulls and is probably remembered there most - yet he was killing it for years with the pistons
The days when he was in pistons was probably his best defensive days back then
@@zhugelianges in Pistons he was much faster
Rodman had Karl Malone in jail.
Lol man you are so hilarious
His unfearness,his hustle,his rebounds,blocks etc. Dennis Rodman is a Goat🐐
Probably the top 5 defenders in NBA history
Great player and his passion to the game when playing is one of the best.
You are right~
Man playing defense on Shaq is a titanic task to say the least and Rodman nailed it. RESPECT!!!
Make Basketball Tough Again
that's what I hope for
Dennis Rodman always had indomitable spirit and integrity and alot of perseverance his defense was remarkable and I'll always use his defense as a lesson to me to stride to be better
The best defender ever in nba history
Could be, I do not disagree
Top three behind Russell and Hakeem.

DENNIS R-O-D-M-A-NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In some of these plays, Rodman's head is snapping back from hits but he didn't fall. Nowadays, it's almost like soccer. People flopping for getting flicked on the ear.
Thanks for using some of my clips. It was a nice defense compilation.
You are welcome, bro. It should be me saying thank you. Thanks for uploading so many great clips about NBA defense...You really contribute a lot in that field. RESPECT.

Thanks my bro!

Thanks!
So much heart...Love this guy...he shut down all the greats!!!
No one can crack down his defense, not even Shaq! lol
Great Work Hanamichi!
Lol you are Hanamichi fans too
He always outsmarted his opponents he knew how they played before he played them that's what u call a great
HOT DAMN!
@3:38 Rodman dam near got his whole hand wrapped up but guess what? He still out there on that court. Players today get a small injury and they are quick to sit out games. Players back then played hurt almost every game.
Rodman's hustle plays and work attitude really deserves our respects.
The thing with playing hurt is that if you're unlucky enough, whatever injury you may have is aggravated, in ways that may redefine if not end careers. Just look at Grant Hill.
He was beast one vs one....even he stoned wall on SHAQ...No body is like him in NBA history.
You can't find any replacement for Rodman anymore...
This guy had to defend a prime shaquille in the post 1 on 1 when he's 35, props to him.
Dennis’s combination of heart, effort and basketball IQ have few if any equals. He would step in front of a bus when motivated for his team.
Agree
RODMAN ONE OF A KIND DEFENSIVE SPECIALIST!!!!
Better than just specialist, a strong candidate for GOAT
Such a great player. Thanks to his rebounds, he also allowed Michael Jordan to be a scoring machine when they played in the same team
GOAT DPOY
Thanks for the vid. I did not know that Rodman was able to stop shaq during his prime. Shaq after winning the first ring somehow was overweight.
Dennis Rodman is my favorite player.
Mine too
Rodman was ALL IN 1000%
Greatest. Of. All. Time.
This guy amazing man😂
Lol
Cool vid dude could you also do his rebounding compilation?
Sure, why not¬Stay tune bro!
Thanks dudeeeee
Rodman was so free tattoos in the NBA 90's are not allowed. Yet Rodman had so many.
Truly a free individual.
Rodman successfully defending Shaq 1 on 1 is amazing 💪
Rodman is my favorite Bulls player when i was a kid
#TheGreatestRebounderOfAllTime
True, he is definitely the GOAT of Rebounder in NBA
The genius of Rodman moving on the outside to trap malone inside the paint and force a 3 second violation.
Defensive genius 😆
Magic, Jordan, Pippen, Malone, O'neal....That's rodman's locked down starting 5
Could be the all-time starting 5 tho
He has never locked or even slowed Jordan down. The only player who truly slowed Jordan fown was Gary Payton.
Rodman may be extremely strong but even when he's smaller, he knows exactly when to use his leverage and to give the opponent a bump so they're off balance and/or miss a shot. All of it is subtle.
Dude took them all on, Shaq, Malone, Magic, Alonso, Hakeem, Barkley, MJ, Bird, defended and rebounded like a madman, he was a good passer and a great teamate to have ... he's a once in a lifetime type of player.
True, once in a lifetime type of player, bro!
what a beast.
Rodman trying to stop Shaq is like a man trying to stop a truck that is going downhill, AND ACTUALLY DOING IT.
Idol Dennis Rodman...
My idol too
00:46 that ref allowing those two to just rough it out is everything great about 90s NBA
I love that time's NBA, nowadays NBA players are too girlish...
Man nothing like watching old school guys with skill , footwork, brut strength and physical with mental battle going at in the post. Hopefully 1 day we can add this dimension back into game because this modern NBA guys may jump out the gym and shot farther but intangibles, hustle and awareness missing.
Rodman was swimming 🌊
Great!
This is truly NBA.
And the true NBA had long gone already...
The inspiration for Sakuragi Hanamichi, the Rebound King!
lol I love Sakuragi so much, they are so similar!
who is sakuragi hanamichi?
@@firmansby6138 The main character of Slam Dunk, one of the greatest Sports manga/anime ever! He's a high school delinquent who falls for a girl who loves basketball, then falls in love with it himself. Check it out, it's a great story!

Man 😂 i laughed so hard when i imagine the softness of the NBA today 😂 rodman would easily average 20+ rpg if he play todays game
Yes, today NBA just represent softness...Rodman could eaily shut down most of the NBA players in that era
Mario Jordan, Luigi Pippen and ... The Wall ..Yoshi Rodman 🤯 best ever!
I would love to see dennis rodman shut lebron down
lebron would literally cry
He guarded shaq the most dominant player and schooled him. Lebron would have a worse meltdown compared to the 2011 Dallas game
He wouldn’t be able to Chief sorry.
@@MVSkrazywhytboi lol, if bwonbwon got shut down by jason terry... bwonbwon would cry if dennis guarded him.
@@MVSkrazywhytboi right lebron James didn't do shit when Jason kiddo guarded him. Dennis Rodman arguably the best defender lock down shaq and reggie Miller. Check on the video how good Dennis Rodman is on his prime before you argue. Lechoke wont do shit
Lot of handchecking but Rodman was still a beast
Rodman can be a defensive beast no matter which era he was in
"There will never be another Dennis Rodman"
Was a great player.
it cones from within, tuff,gritt,hAart
True
Dennis is probably the best defender of all time. FACTS
Can't argue with that...
I think the length of Rodmans shorts helps.
By the way,ive never seen Rodman guesting in TNT with Shaq.I think players who has shut down Shaq(Big Ben,Dennis) werent invited.😁😁
The scary thing about Bulls Dennis Rodman is that even though he was great, he was past his prime. Prime Rodman was scary good.
Yes, that's insane, even though he was past his prime, he was still pretty good
damn!! that was a sticky strong defense he had!!!!😦😦😦😦
Still the BEST DEFENDER the NBA ever had!
True
Dennis rodman!!!!!!!!!!! Warrior!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Period!!!!!!!!!!!!
the hearth of champion
80s had Mchale, Parrish, Bird, 90s had Jordan, Rodman and Pippen not often you get a power trio on one team like that playing in synch
He never needed “help” defense even against Shaq.
Yes, very amazing
Superman, Batman, Rodman!
Best Trio ever in the NBA history!
damn only guy who can guard from 1-5. Dennis. Rodman.
True, the real tough guy who can guard from 1-5, not the fucking Draymond...
Even shutting down the big diesel. Shaq would eat draymond alive like the poor dudley lol
Mamba4 Life lol 😂 I can definitely imagine the scene
The defense is good but the recording is bad!😂 Thanks BTW!
You're welcome~!=]
Rodman was such a different beast
Best defensive player ever
Can’t agree more lol
Jordan gets so much credit yet he had a super team for that era on top of an all time great coach
So how would win in 96 bulls or 2016 warriors?
Strong DFS。。。。👍👍👍
DENNIS RODMAN !!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He was a great defensive player but, Towards the end of his career he was way more trouble than he was worth.
Rodman was unbelivable
Yeah surely he was
Did anyone noticed that the 3 defensive jaggernauts in one Team?
That's the most nasty thing for the Bulls team... a Superior Dynasty
Rodman on shaq amazing if shaq play now a days no one would stop him
Except Rodman The Worm lol
I was Bulls fan before Rodman, but when they played Spurs and Bulls I couldn’t watch because I admired the Bulls as a Team and Rodman as a player. Jordan knew how to let him shine and do his thang!!! Phil Jackson said he didn’t give a shit what he wore off the court because he always did his job. It’s a crying shame Robinson hated him so much. Those were truly the glory days of basketball. Jordan, Rodman, Pippin- Robinson, Del Negro- Bird-Johnson-Shaw, Hardaway (sp?) Hakeem Olajuwon(sp?)-Barkley-Kerr-Mason-Stockton-Malone-Thompson-Washington! I don’t know what today’s ball seems to be missing. Those guys are good he’ll, great, but it just seems like it’s lacking. Maybe there is too much personality. Rodman was loud and the Bulls knew it but they meshed well and ALL could shine. Seems like today it’s too much about the fame or power instead of the love of the game shining thru? Idk, there’s just something missing
I don't even know Robinson hate Rodman, I thought they have some conflicts only
Is that music from To Live and Die In LA lol
It's crazy how Rodman was able to guard Shaq in his prime, given that he was 6 inches shorter and about 100 lbs lighter.
Yes, can't even imagine unless you saw those highlights...
the only man who can shut down the big diesel
I feel bad for the other 2, only 3 of them was known.. ron harper sr. Is good too actually its teamwork so they deserved recognition
Rodman was such a great player. He played Shaq perfect he destroyed Seattle in that series. High energy great basketball IQ
Agree
Dennis Rodman was known for being a great defender and rebounder
the original "Sakuragi" real-life anime!!!! rebound king!
Very true, bro 😎
The true rebound king and real Sakuragi!
Btw bro are you Asian?
Dennis the worm rodman
Can lock down any ball handler in this era, he is just too smart too physical, i mean he lock down michael jordan the goat in detroit days, karl malone, shaq, ewing
Resume is there
I mean he playd mental defense
He played mental D, he is probably the defensive GOAT ever, yet he did not lock down MJ, the true GOAT I would have to say...
@@zhugelianges one on one he did in the last 5 mins of the game they would put Rodman on him...and Jordan wouldn't hardly score anything... Isiah got in the dam way when Jordan made that one shot to End the game...But The Pistons Always Put Rodman on him in the Last Quarter because you didn't won't to get Rodman into foul trouble
back when teams were serious about defense
Hard to imagine NBA still have any defense now....
Rodman's jumps are not just high. They are quick.
underated athletically and strong as a bull. Pun intended.

Magic, MJ, Rodman, LeBron, Shaq.......my all time starting 5
