Three Football Kites and an Octopus

- My 2,119th kite video. With some kind of football ("soccer" to some) tournament going on at the moment, I decided to get out my neglected football kites and give them an airing.

That's the tail it came with, Eddy, so I had no choice, but I'm happy that you like it. Good to know you're having some sunshine, and maybe a chance to fly a kite or two.
Nice football kites. Freddy is cute especially with eyes and mouth. He must be happy on this nice day.
I drew those features on him (rather badly) as I thought he looked better with them. Maybe I can improve them sometime.

Watching the tentacles on your Octopus got my imagination going. If you had an Octopus on your football team you wouldn't need any other players.
Perhaps I should try to find some boots that would fit one of my octopus kites, Carl. I'm not entirely convinced that your idea is practical, though.

The sky was full of action. On and Off the "field." Tim and one other from Alaskiters will be at the kite festivval here in August.

Love it!! (Would love to see a video of how you launch your Octopus kite, especially by yourself. I have the same kite (because of one of your earlier video's), and I yet to be able to master the launch.)
Launching is basically just as I showed here. I hold the kite up to let it inflate, then let go and gradually let the line out, pulling from time to time to keep tension on, and it will gradually climb if there's enough breeze (it doesn't need a lot). Making a video to show it in more detail would be tricky, but maybe sometime.

Hey Jim! I was wondering if you could review some kites from Temu Ik they are probably terrible but I would love to hear your thoughts thanks!
Very unlikely, as I very seldom buy kites these days. If I were to buy again from China it would probably be from AliExpress as I have used them many times and know which sellers are most trustworthy. I have no experience of Temu and haven't heard much about them here in New Zealand.
