Bohemians really loved to throw people out of windows.
And we're suprisingly good at beating crusaders.
And they loved rebellions. 1419. 1618 ect.
Can confirm, I´m from Czech republic and my cousin pushed me from 1st story window :D
We still love to do it now and then, we like the word defenestration.
Collin Buckman cuz we are free you fucker!!!
As a Czech, I really must thank you for showing one of the most important parts of our history :)
Hus looks really calm for someone being burned to the stake.
He was he believed his ideas
R Zabala he sang during being burned alive :)
Never heard of that one. But i doubt it.
similar to Jesus
Wich is most peculiar, being burned alive is quite unpleasant, you know!
wait, dudes used hand guns with shields? WHAT SORCERY IS THIS
***** oh, like a pavise then
Sabrowsky SATANIC SORCERY
Well they were pretty much the first to use guns in Europe on such scale. And their armored wagons could be called progenitors of tanks. After all what is a tank but armored transport vehicle with cannon on top right? :D
Žižka has the eye patch of a thousand men!
I wonder if those war wagons could count as the first ever use of armour vehicles on the battlefield? Great video as always thanks.
Nah, I am pretty sure they were used before. For example, Boudicca used them. Also, chariots might count as armored vehicles.
Bohemia OP! Paradox nerf them plox.
Zeke Aaron Bohemia is totally OP though.
our few soldiers today are really OP :-D
Actually, Sigismund was opposed to execution of Hus. The church forced him to execute Hus.
Nope, you think about Vaclav IV. He was against that, but Zikmund was for it.
after playing kingdom come deliverance i feel a personal anger towards Sigismund even though he died hundreds of years ago
I though the "threw em out the windows" stuff was the 30 Years War?
Both actually
Jabzy Goddamn Bohemians with the window-throwing and the rhapsodies
Everyone likes a good defenestration.
Vito G. that was the second one :-)
we czechs did it really often like it's tradition
Ok quick 101 on Czech pronounciation of some of the key names. The letter Ž in the name Žižka or Želivksý. Is pronounced Plea-su-re. The su (phonetically) is the word Ž. This is not criticism, or an hurtful comment. Just a piece of knowledge relevant to this video.
You could help us also with Domažlice at 03:32. I am not Czech but I think it's closer to Do-ma-žleet-seh... definitely not the English -lice sound.
Just press blue "play" button to hear it
Domazlice cs.forvo.com/word/doma%C5%BElice/
Zizka: cs.forvo.com/word/jan_%C5%BEi%C5%BEka/#cs
etc you got the idea from forvo I guess ;)
just use google translator, it can speak czech very good
I just knew from here that Jeanne d'Arc had threatened the Hussites.
If she came to Bohemia, she would get her ass kicked by us like we kicked crusaders asses.
I insta subbed to your channel yesterday when i came across one of your videos. Great to see one though where my historical knowledge is sorely lacking.
Just as I thought these series were dead! Great to see it back!
Pretty well done!
What is wih this window throwing?
Edward Longshanks Of England, Duke of Aquatine We just love throwing some fuckers on spears from windows?
Because Czechs want to fly :D
so how many failed crusades were there? I lost count lol
Five.
There is a nice map video on youtube showing development of this wars - The Bohemian Wars (1419 - 1434) - Every Five Days
Well done Jabzy!!!!
Please do video about Battle of Alcacer Quibir / Battle of 3 Kings 1578. That battle took place on Morocco where 3 nations is involve Portugal, Sultanate of Morocco and The Ottoman 😊😊😊
+jabzy please do video about Battle of Alcacer Quibir 1578
Afifi Hasan Which resulted in King Sebastian of Portugal not being found anywhere, at the age of 24.
isn't this the story of the game Kingdom Come Deliverance is based on?
Kind of, the game starts in 1403, a decade before Hus is put to the torch. Sigismund of Hungary tries to take over the crown of Bohemia at the time though, so events are slowly onfolding and the events of this video is a good example of future sequels.
Maybe we could get a dlc set in the Hussite Wars 🤷♂️
99% sure that's what the sequel will be about. Also a film about Žižka sould be out by 2019 so there's that.
i hope the next Warhorse studios game will be based on hussite wars!
I'm from city next to the Sázava (KCD took place there)
More tossing people out of windows. Aaahhhh... Classic Holy Roman Empire!
i love your Channel
and I love you
+Jabzy best Geordie 2016
Do a video on the Hunnic invasion of Europe under Attila the Hun
two words: everything burns!
Jan Zizka looks like Venom Snake.
'cuz he was. And city of Tábor was his FOB.
Even plan on doing something about the recent wars in the Caucasus?
hey what's the music playing during this? :)
Žižka, Želivský - Ž is /ʒ/
Tábor, Kutná hora - á is /a:/
Domažlice, Poděbrady - damn...
somali civil war next please!
do the battle between cravings and self-restraint, circa everyday in my life :p
Dude do something about Portugal. You still haven´t made one single video about us
Liberation wars is on it way eventually
Love your video just have two minor points:
1.) Jan Želivský wasn't military commander. Calling him radical priest and politician probably suits him better. Also didnt't undestand name of that battle he was supposed to be commanding, please tell me.
2.) Before winning many battle and being known Prokop the Great he was commonly known as Prokop the Shaven. Unlike others priests (yes, he was battle priest lvl 99) those days Prokop didn't have biblical bushy beard but was shaven, only keeping his moustache.
Most time looking like this: husitstvi.cz/wp-content/uploads/SHI-07.jpg
Still I have to thank you for making video about this topic. Historians are mostly oblivious to this topic due to its complexity and lack of unbiased sources.
If you want to learn more about this topic and still have fun I recommend The Hussite book trilogy from Andrzej Sapkowski, also author of The Witcher book series. He really put a lot of research and effort in it ;)
Please make war of the pacific.
is this one of the early stages of the thirty yrs war? before or after reforrmaton?
Thats a seperate war, first half of 15th century
It's an entire century before the reformation, this took place between 1419-1434, while Martin Luther wrote his 95 Theses in 1517. The Thirty Years' War took place an entire century after that, in 1618, and also started with a defenestration in Prague.
JAN ZIZKA!!!
I fail to understand the Czech fascination with the defenestration of unwelcome people...
Well you know doors are for friends only... others have to leave through windows
that moment when you read "hussy wars"
Hussy soldiers going to battle www.zoopark-radonice.cz/images/gallery/landeske-nemecke-nosne-a-ceske-husy.jpg
Is there any major historical event involving Prague that doesn't involve throwing people outside windows??
Cuthboer Prague spring, Velvet revolution? Maybe.
Philippine american war please
do something about Omar Mukhtar its a great story not known well inspiring and interesting for more info watch lion of the desert.
Keep up the good work Jabzy! Have you seen my pledge on patreon? I am happy I can help you out and hopefully it makes your life easier :)
Thanks a lot man
hehe, currybutt
who came here beacuse of kingdom come?
we need DLC with Hus burning quest :-D
Great video - but check (czech- get it?) your pronounciation of the czech names. really disastrous.
I thought he will butcher the names, not that bad :D
Its not Jan Zizka but Jan ŽIŽKA
nemluví česky nedokáže to říct
Not long before the Roman Catholic church comes to power again according to Revelation
Make a video about Armemenia
Windows
What is it with the people of Prague and throwing people out of windows?
What is wrong with you
We (Czechs) are the most drunkest people ever lived on the world and throwing people out of window is just fun.
not first
Sal De'Friez
So the hussites were the bad guys,
I'm glad you do these videos.
Jesus Christ be praised
Slow down, please.
Deus vult!
Imperial Crusader hah i dont have anything anti-crusade but hussite were the wariors of truth here.
Sorry, but Pope John XXIII's papacy actually began in 1958.
Dominic Krone, there were two popes called John XXIII. The first was a pope from 1410 to 1415, the second was a pope from 1958 to 1963. The first John XXIII is considered to be an antipope.
Good but to your speaking much too fast.
