The old fandom never used to be like this, new, younger fans from 2020 onwards seem to be the main people doing the toxic work, especially on X and Instagram. The racism is also a huge issue too.

The sad truth is that no one has any respect for the Eurovision content creators, their boundaries, and their personal lives. People can say that they do, but they really don't. Yeah the hate that people get for simply expressing their opinion or not. It is way too harsh and people should just respect the individuals morals and boundaries. People should just chill out for people’s opinions. Art is art and it isn’t for everybody. This is so sad and it has actually happened with another channel @MegESC1 who is also autistic so it is even harder for her to cope with it all (like it would be for me as I am autistic myself) and it is genuinely horrible when people just their hate at others just for doing what they feel is right you know. I wish we could heal but I genuinely don’t know how we will as a fandom. I have literally been losing sleep over this recently and it is not looking any better in the future and I am not even a reactor or lost on a fansite. I cannot imagine what it’d be like to be you. Hope you are enjoying the season so far and return to make a top and actually I do kind of like it better when you don’t know someone’s opinion on a song prior anywhere because it adds more mystique (that is the best way I can describe it) to what someone thinks. Do what you feel like you have to, and yes we should respect that. I understand if with certain things it can seem like, no matter what you do, someone throws negative things your way, but yes you can't please everyone, and your mood and feelings towards certain things/songs can be affected. I'm glad that your work and social life is doing so well and keep you busy, and yes its not your duty to react,(some things are more important), but some thing you love to do in your spare time, which at the moment you don't seem to have a lot of. I understand its easier to make a quick post on instagram if you have a free moment, than sitting down and putting things together for a reaction video, and I also follow you there, so I know you are doing great it seems. See you here, when you have the propper time for videos, so you can better enjoy it.
The problem, I think, is that there has been a tremendous amount of misinformed hatred directed at a certain country. Many content creators have gone out of their way to show contempt for a single country. When other content creators do not have the time, or try to split the difference and try to play the song without national symbols or the country name, they're attacked from both sides. That, in turn, drags everyone else down.
Luke, so glad to know that you are moving forward successfully with your work and your plans, that is great news! Enjoy life and keep on enjoying the ESC so much as you want to and in any way that you choose to do so. By the way, I do not get all this fuss about the Israeli entry this year. The third and final Israeli entry has no political message at all, people are interpreting too much into the lyrics. Besides, every time the Ukrainian entry has been political, most notably with their 2 winning songs, no one has complained about it, and the EBU has fully tolerated it. Among other things it is this biased attitude of the EBU for some countries, that has turned off my enjoying of this contest. But still, I still follow it, just because I still discover some music gems, like the Italian, the Greek and the Norwegian entry

i actually wrote a massive long reply but decided not to post it i just think saying “we must respect whatever someone chooses to do” is a bit of an ideal and comes from a privileged perspective. i too am privileged as i and no one i know is directly effected by the siege my morals and what’s ongoing in Gaza means i can’t support or “respect” those who choose to rank such a country. we are not in an esc bubble there are people losing their lives one thing you mentioned in a reply and we can agree on though is that this is all the ebu’s doing. their decision to include that country has brought the contest into “disrepute” and has put artists, broadcasters, fans, media, reactors etc. in a position they should’ve never be put in we just want to see the loss of human life end not people ignoring it

Dude you don't have time and you had intention to react to and each and every country and we respect your choices, but you reacted to Georgia which was released in public day after Israel. So something here doesn't add up.
I did explain in the comment section of the Georgia video. But for arguments sake: I was behind because I’m busy. So I reacted to Portugal; as I was doing so - Georgia was released so decided strike while the iron was hot. If you’re not on it asap, you make less of an impact. (This is why I’m in the same clothing)
It does from a content creators view. Georgia is not a big hitter, so to optimise audience - you go as soon as it’s ready, like with San Marino or Slovenia. Israel is a big hitter, you can afford to leave it a few days as it has a wide appeal. Same with Italy, Spain etc.

People are more interested to watch you react to Israel than Georgia especially because almost everyone from your fellow CZcamsrs boycotted Israel so we are lacking reaction to big hitter. From perspective of CZcamsr you would probably gain more views with Israel. More impactful balad, voice but also regarding climate. And it was released day before and if you reacting chronologically this whole year, why stopping with Israel. If you are going to market to buy chocolate, would you buy chocolate from famous brand like fererro, Milka or would you buy chocolate that's being not such a big hitter but is sitting there.

If you can guarantee Israel is a big hitter then you don’t have to rush to do it; I’d be guaranteed the audience for it. Also, If I have a backlog of videos, I’m not precious on the order. When songs have been released on a super Saturday, I film videos when I film them, I don’t make a conscious effort to react chronologically - If they’ve turned out that way, then cool, if not…. Then cool.

Absolutely agree. I would like to see Israel excluded from the competition, in just the same way that Russia has been excluded and for the same reasons, but it's never appropriate to be unkind. Regardless of my political opinions, for as long as Israel is in the competition I hope the Israeli fans enjoy themselves and that the Israeli act is ultimately proud of her performance, because as Joost puts it: at the end of the day, we are all human beings.

I hope that all the commenters for this contest will find the courage to do the right thing and not let the fear of losing followers or hateful comments influence their opinion and voice..I'm sorry but right now it sounds more like an excuse than a justified reason

Unfortunately, its a catch 22 situation and the people I’ve spoken too are concerned either way.

Do what you feel like you have to, and yes we should respect that. I understand if with certain things it can seem like, no matter what you do, someone throws negative things your way, but yes you can't please everyone, and your mood and feelings towards certain things/songs can be affected. I'm glad that your work and social life is doing so well and keep you busy, and yes its not your duty to react,(some things are more important), but some thing you love to do in your spare time, which at the moment you don't seem to have a lot of. The problem, I think, is that there has been a tremendous amount of misinformed hatred directed at a certain country. Many content creators have gone out of their way to show contempt for a single country. When other content creators do not have the time, or try to split the difference and try to play the song without national symbols or the country name, they're attacked from both sides. That, in turn, drags everyone else down.

Enjoy life and keep on enjoying the ESC so much as you want to and in any way that you choose to do so. By the way, I do not get all this fuss about the Israeli entry this year. The third and final Israeli entry has no political message at all, people are interpreting too much into the lyrics. Besides, every time the Ukrainian entry has been political, most notably with their 2 winning songs, no one has complained about it, and the EBU has fully tolerated it. Among other things it is this biased attitude of the EBU for some countries, that has turned off my enjoying of this contest. But still, I still follow it, just because I still discover some music gems, like the Italian, the Greek and the Norwegian entry

i just think saying “we must respect whatever someone chooses to do” is a bit of an ideal and comes from a privileged perspective. i too am privileged as i and no one i know is directly effected by the siege
my morals and what’s ongoing in Gaza means i can’t support or “respect” those who choose to rank such a country. we are not in an esc bubble there are people losing their lives
one thing you mentioned in a reply and we can agree on though is that this is all the ebu’s doing. their decision to include that country has brought the contest into “disrepute” and has put artists, broadcasters, fans, media, reactors etc. in a position they should’ve never be put in

Dude you don't have time and you had intention to react to and each and every country and we respect your choices, but you reacted to Georgia which was released in public day after Israel. So something here doesn't add up.

I was behind because I’m busy. So I reacted to Portugal; as I was doing so - Georgia was released so decided strike while the iron was hot. If you’re not on it asap, you make less of an impact. (This is why I’m in the same clothing)

It does from a content creators view. Georgia is not a big hitter, so to optimise audience - you go as soon as it’s ready, like with San Marino or Slovenia.

And it was released day before and if you reacting chronologically this whole year, why stopping with Israel. If you are going to market to buy chocolate, would you buy chocolate from famous brand like fererro, Milka or would you buy chocolate that's being not such a big hitter but is sitting there.

If you can guarantee Israel is a big hitter then you don’t have to rush to do it; I’d be guaranteed the audience for it.
Also, If I have a backlog of videos, I’m not precious on the order. When songs have been released on a super Saturday, I film videos when I film them, I don’t make a conscious effort to react chronologically - If they’ve turned out that way, then cool, if not…. Then cool.

Absolutely agree. I would like to see Israel excluded from the competition, in just the same way that Russia has been excluded and for the same reasons, but it's never appropriate to be unkind. Regardless of my political opinions, for as long as Israel is in the competition I hope the Israeli fans enjoy themselves and that the Israeli act is ultimately proud of her performance, because as Joost puts it: at the end of the day, we are all human beings.
