Reminds me of my Mama taking care of me with Vicks VapoRub on my feet, toes, and upper chest. My Mama would boil some hot water, add some Vicks to the hot water, put a towel over our head, lean over the pot of water, so we would inhale the vapors. My Mama always knew how to make us all feel better!

Vicks has been used in my life for over 65 years. My mother always used it on us when we were growing up. Depending on our symptoms, at times she would rub it on our chest, under our feet and even a bit in our noses. I always have it at my house. Everytime I smell It, it reminds me of my Mom.❤
I remember my mother putting a towel over my head over a bowl if hot water with Vick's in it for congestion. Best thing out!

Vicks has always worked since I've been I was young, I swear by the stuff. Helps my kids really well with the snivels. On the feet and dab some under the nose. Works great on congestion. The best way we've found to clear congestion in the nasal passages in the UK, is to fill a bowl with hot water and a teaspoon of Vicks mixed in the water. Then put a towl over your head covering your head and the bowl and deeply inhale the vapour that rises in the steam - it works twice as fast.
I use Vicks on my chest when my asthma acts up, it helps!

I had Vicks on my nose and chest , the moment I had a little symptom of a cold, since I was a little kid , and I have never had a bad cold, or flu, or any type of pulmonary issue. I have to attribute it to Vicks. It’s the best, Btw, all Caribbean islands been using Vicks since forever as a remedy. Love it!

I did this last year and now my feet looks like they used too. I put Vicks all over my toes and feet at night.
Then I’d put socks on for the night. Really works! It helps soften your feet and keep your toenails great and vibrant.
It also gets rid of toe fungus.
How long did you use it for toe fungus before fungus went away?
Castor oil on the feet works all sorts of wonders, too!

Oh my goodness, I love Vicks Vaporub. My grandma used to use this on me when I was a kid with a headcold. She always used that on me, and made me potato soup with chopped up garlic to eat for lunch and dinner. While I was home sick from school she would also make me eat oranges. As a kid, my family ate a lot of garlic in our meals and with the oranges during the day for healthy snacks, I was hardly ever sick. I am 50 years old and I still prefer eating healthy and not having too many colds, the old fashioned natural remedies are so much better for us. Thank you for this great information and bringing back memories of my beloved grandma. God bless you for this great information!

Peppermint oil and Himalayan salt works in a fancy way also.
Using it since the 1960's as I was diagnosed with bronchial asthma. It was and is a crucial medicine in the😢 bathroom cabinet for the past 65 years 😊

Most of the allergens were pet dander which does the most damage for my asthma to flare up.
When I was a kid and had a cold my Father would rub camphorphenique (sp?) on my neck and upper chest and pin one of his wool socks around my neck. Learned to love the smell of it and also his tender loving care. ❤️
This is an old remedy! It works! My sons hated it but the next day they were so much better! My grandma did it to me. Where I learned it! I miss her so much!

Melon, cucumber & celery do have properties to make you pee/piss/wee a little excess fluid from your body, but eating something, won’t ease congested sinuses. Put a small amount of Vicks vapour rub into a bowl of Hot water, bend your head over the bowl, -[Not too close or you’ll make your eyes water] drape a towel over your head & the bowl. Breathe in slowly, deeply thru your nose for a few mins. You can reheat the bowl in the microwave later to use again.
Or get a Vicks sinus nasal inhaler and pop it in your pocket.
Failing that, do you have a head cold? Sinus infection? Hay Fever? Other allergies ? If it’s not a virus, go Have a word with your local chemist.
If it is a viral cold or flu virus, it will cure itself in a week or two.
You CanNot cure a virus with antibiotics. They are for more serious infections, like a virus that’s gone,to the lungs so your coughing up phlegm, Not before then, or they’ll be useless to you in the future when your life may depend on them for sepsis!
On the last day of my dog's life..she was very ill (having coughing attacks)..I remembered vick vaporub

I use a CPAP machine for sleep apnea & I put vaporub on my nostrils before bed whenever I have any congestion. It really helps falling asleep & staying asleep.
Over six decades ago I learned from my Mom, i only need Vick's vaporub and for my colds, creomulsion. I'm still here.🤭 Thank you Doctor.
I haven't seen creomulsion in decades but that always worked for me as a child. Vicks is a wonderful product. I use when I'm not sick bc it always makes me sleep soundly and moisturizes my feet.

I’ve done this for years. Vick works best when rubbed on the soles of the feet, and make sure the socks are 100% cotton.
My go-to when I have a bad cold with congested nose and throat... Lots of vitamine C, and applying Vick's VapoRub to my feet, chest, throat and just a tiny bit at each nostril...

My favorite way to use Vick's is to apply it topically on my face to each side of my nose when my sinuses are stopped up. I works SO WELL to unblock my passages and get me breathing. Just remember to avoid your eyes. It does send scent upwards to my eyes and makes them water a bit, but it actually feels soothing. Just don't get it IN you eyes.
It really does help with the coughing and another thing it's great for is when I can't get to sleep I'll inhale the vapors from the jar several times and some how it helps me get to sleep. Amazing!
I never leave home without it. Sinus or allergies it works every time. Same as most we grew up on Vicks. My mother would rub it on our chests, forehead and throat. 60 years later I still do the same thing.

Incredible info. Thank you so much. I will do this even when I don't have a cough. I eat 2 - 5 cloves (size varies and strength varies) per day of RAW GARLIC so I rarely get a cough. I chew it first thing in the day with lots of water. I sniff raw garlic too if congested. The spice called cloves is great to chew on after the garlic and releases the clove scent. I love the smell of Vicks.

It works!! I have neck arthritis since MRI and it is amazing what this has done for me. I had frozen shoulders and I am almost clear of it due to Vicks and Prolozone treatments here on the island of Kauai. Dr Mandell you are awesome. Amen. Everything we have comes from Him, including the plants that our healing oils and medicines come from. Who remembers as a kid running into a patch of stinging nettles and quickly grabbing a handful of dock leaves that ALWAYS grew by the nettle patch, to rub vigorously over your stung legs? Oh the relief when the itching miraculously stopped. How gracious of God to make the dock leaves grow by the nettles, which, by the way, have their own powerful medicinal properties.

I am a refired Podiatrist and have often recommended Vicks. Works well too on fungal nails, when massaged in daily. Not a quickfix, but does work😊

I have neurophy pain, which was brought on by chemotherapy. And I've found that rubbing Vicks on my feet helps ease the pins and needle pains when going to sleep.

@@averyt6521 It feels amazing. I can't speak about it beyond saying that my feet itched a lot post-covid, and the coating of my feet really helped with that. Not sure if it addressed the neuropathy, or took the sensation of itching, but the itchiness of my feet prevented me from sleeping. It has subsided thank God, but I know what I can do to help if it comes back. Might as well try it. Even if it doesn't work in the way you want it to, it really is incredibly soothing. 10/10 recommend.

For all my Hispanics/Latinos we all grew up knowing about the healing properties and majic🤣 of VAPORU when sick.
I’m 60 yrs old and I don’t know much about the Vicks but I was not a sick child growing up. But I did love eating the Vicks cherry cough drops. As a matter of fact my 3 grown adult children was the same as me colds, fevers and all that other stuff it passed our home. But now I have a 2 yr old granddaughter I will remember this video. So far so good she has not had no sniffles or colds since she been born.
I really enjoyed learning how it works with the body and brain. I grew up with our mom using it too for us. As other meds became available it wasn’t used as much. But I’m using Vicks again when needed and getting rid of all those drugs with side effects.Thanks Dr Mandell💐

I have been using Vicks all my life. My mom was a true believer in using Vicks and homemade coconut oil when we little and had a cold.

I would rub garlic on my childrens feet when they were sick and put their socks back on at bedtime. One child complained of the smell and I would tease him with an Italian accent and tell him he was my little pizza. He would then gleefully stick his feet out to be rubbed. By morning it had all absorbed and there was no more smell.
