What's sad is if Fred had been diagnosed just a few years later, he would have benefited from the advanced HIV research that keeps the disease from advancing to a full-on AIDS attack, & it would have added 20 years to his life. (Fred's partner Jim Hutton lived at least another 15 years due to the advanced research). I lost more than 1 family member to the disease (we lost many here in NYC) with just missing that window of the HIV meds that can keep the disease undectable & not advancing to AIDS. Such a shame: because it's people like FM that contributed quiet donations to AIDS research that helped to fund research for these simply miraculous medications that he knew would affect future victims. We must remember, that people from all walks of life & contracting it in different ways, were affected by & benefited from these drug trials that are now medical staples. Thank you FM for thinking of the future even beyond your own lifespan.
It's a horrible disease 😞 one of my friends has it he was infected in the 90s . He is considered clean. The drugs he takes keeps it under control. Not detected in his blood anymore 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤❤ If only Freddie could have held on a little more. ❤
