Though it may be partially talent related but also how determined you are about the language and how much you actually engage with the language. I saw the Julian Bam Video and You got a great feeling for the german language and how the words are constructed. You analysed those words amazingly good. Like Schlitt-schuh-laufen. You pronounced them very very good. Speaking is one thing but to read those words is very different and it happend sometimes in school that people stick those connected words in a different way so that the pronunciation sounds totally off.
But you learned it the right way like a child learns to speak. First just repeat what you hear and have later a look for the translation and then much later how it is written. In school you do those things all at the same time and it becomes difficult to speak the language, because you are so focused on the right writings not on the pronunciation.

James, it didn't look like a real bakery in the video though, looked like a supermarket bread counter or one of the fast chain bread counters. A real bakery is a small institution where you often (if not attached to a supermarket) go into an extra store. Then in the counter in front there are sweet and savory pastries and behind the counter there are breads and rolls. And one is served by a saleswoman or salesman, sometimes also the baker himself and does not take independently the baked goods from the counter, shelf or basket. Likewise, the bread is cut for one when asked. Likewise, many bakeries sometimes have a café attached to it, where you can also have breakfast, for example. That is, if that does not come in one of your next videos, you must go absolutely also with the next Germany attendance into a genuine bakery. The same goes for a brewery, if you haven't been to one yet on this trip.

Quarkbällchen are just OP. Need to get me some tomorrow.
It's so much fun to watch your experience.
You missed two beers: Jever (from Northern Germany, it might be the most bitter one) and Altbier (top-fermented from Düsseldorf, there's some kind of beef between Cologne and Düsseldorf, so they will tell you it's terrible, but maybe try a Füchschen Alt, it's a mild one or an Ureige Alt, which is stronger.)

You have to be aware that all the "Kölsch" Beers you were forced to drink are really very specifically a cultural "Köln" thing. Most Germans think they are way inferior to a regular "Pils" Beer. With "Kölsch" and "Helles" you only drank specific kinds of Beers (even though "Helles" is waaaay better than Kölsch) - most Beers are "Pils". The "Veltins" was one ;)

Now in summer we also drink "Berliner mit Schuss", which is light beer and raspberry (red version) or with woodruff (green version). If you come to germany in autuum or winter it is possible to buy, but not the same feeling. Anyway I am looking forward to your next video.
