Energise yourself with this Power Chendol! | Jin Jin Dessert (津津甜品) | Singapore Hawker Food

Run by Calvin and Ewan, former insurance agent and DJ respectively, they decided to venture into the dessert business, a step out into the unknown. They visited many countries, in search of dessert recipes that inspired them to create original tastes.
Right now, Jin Jin Dessert has constant long queues, keeping the two owners busy tending to customers. As we talked to them, they mentioned how they enjoyed making desserts and serving customers. To them, it was not just a source of income, but also a source of joy!
Known for its signatures Power Chendol and Gangster Ice, the stall attracts its regulars with the wide-ranging old and cold desserts. At least 40 varieties are on the menu, just the cold desserts alone. Power Chendol consists of a compacted ice heap with red bean, pandan jelly, attap seeds, drizzled with gula melaka.
Why is the dessert named Gangster Ice? The dessert has diced mango (芒果 máng guǒ) and a scoop of durian (榴莲 liú lián) piled on top of shaved ice. Gangster in Mandarin is 流氓 (liú máng), a combination of mango and durian in Chinese!
Given Singapore's tropical climate, desserts are an essential throughout the year. Jin Jin Dessert is an excellent place to visit if you are in for something cooling. Get yourself energised after a bowl of Power Chendol!
