How the family keeps a 47-year-old handmade fishcake legacy alive | Ah Boon Handmade Fish Cake

Known for their handmade fishcakes, the family-run hawker stall Ah Boon Handmade Fish Cake (亞文手工鱼饼) has established its ground since 1975. They have 2 stalls, one in the market selling raw Yong Tau Foo, and another in the food centre offering fried fishcakes and Yong Tau Foo.
As early as 1am, the family has already started their long busy day preparing fish paste for making Yong Tau Foo, fishballs, fishcakes, Tau Kee rolls, and many others at their market stall - Ah Boon Fish Ball Yong Tou Fu (亚文鱼圆酿豆腐). Yellow Tail fish is used for fishcakes, and each one is skilfully moulded by hand. When made, the products are trolleyed over to the hawker stall to be fried and served.
Run by the 3rd generation, Mr Terence Teo sticks closely to his grandma's recipe and together with his family, keeps the near half-a-century-old legacy alive.
