As an Australian Aboriginal we need more beautiful peoples to keep coming to our beautiful land…..we have so many people from across the earth….from every lands and countries and including the U.S….we have our fair share of little minded peoples…..but they are less and less….and we have our struggles, but more great people helping to continue to build and make our country better than the best….which is ourselves!!!….God bless the Judith and the rest of the band….God continue to bless this country and those that keep coming to share with us and DramaSydE…cheers champion 🙏🏼✨👍🏾
Love from the Sunshine Coast.
Well said mate, everyone is welcome to our beautiful country
I agree 100% . Come and visit us in the Pilbara , IN WINTER !
I’m a white Australian woman but it makes me so sad that our government continues to fail our indigenous people. It’s infuriating. I mean how can a few rich politicians who’ve most likely all gone through private schools even pretend to understand the regular Australian? Let alone tackle indigenous issues? We need more everyday people in politics.
@@daniellesymons1569 Have you ever heard the old saying
“ Give people enough rope and they’ll
hang themselves ?”
Guess what happens to a whole generation that receives a constant supply of free money , and not have to lift a finger to support themselves ?
Another wise old saying that’s relevant ;
“ The devil finds work for idle hands .”
I'm 58, and still can't listen to this song without it bringing a tear to the eye - All Aussies cop the feels when we hear this - it's our red earth soul's that does it
R.I. P Judith, I hope you are resting well our lovely lady
❤
Yup, I can't help but sing along in my croaky baritone (as long as no one else can hear!)
@@ArpisRoh Oh I think this song has made us all closet shower singers at some stage or another m8, whether others can hear our cat brutalising voices or not lol
@@roslynjonsson2383 The first lines of the chorus came to Bruce when he was in shower, so it fits.
I'm 64, and I'm the same. Good tears! Judith had such an absolutely beautiful voice. I remember listening to The Seekers with my family. So many good memories.😭😭
Yes. Judith will be sadly missed. This song makes me tear up, and not just for its lines, but also at Judith Durham's incredible voice. The fact she was recovering from a stroke makes this even more incredible.
Judith was recovering from a stroke when she sang this, that is why she was seated during the performance. A beautiful lady with an angelic voice who also spent much of her time raising funds for charity. Sadly missed. RIP.
🥺💔
Those were the days of the ability to be giving. So glad I learned at very early age. Great memories..
I'm afraid I can not imagine anyone singing something similar about England anymore. Loved The Seekers for decades. Wonderful roll models. I guess I'm one of millions of guys in love with the late Judith Durham. Her voice was magic coupled with a lovely personality.
The reason we’re moved by this song is because it is a song for humanity.
As many other Australians feel - I feel more of this song than our current national anthem - I feel this should be our national anthem - we all get a little teary and proud when this is sung.
We all know the best verse of our current National Anthem is the one we never sing.
Yes, as an Aussie it makes me misty-eyed everytime I hear it. Sometimes it is sung without the verse about the convict ships, but that is a strong part of our history.... many were "political" prisoners, especially the Irish. Anyway, it is history and cannot be covered up. Also very emotional to recognise the First Australians - the indigenous Aboriginal nations people.
Hey Big Man, thank you for being open-minded enough to accept and appreciate what our beloved artists have offered to us during our lifetime. Too often they have been ignored, only to be "discovered" by a wider audience like precious relics buried by the sands of time. Today, you are Australian. Good onya mate.
🙏🏾
Hey, Big Mockingbird, thank you for being non-mock-minded for once and instead a sentimental silly. Today, you are a folkatoo. But are you authorised to just give away Australian citizenship to people who have not passed the citizen requirements? Did money exchange hands under the table? Are you mocking the value of being a bone fide citizen of Australia? These questions need to be asked and answered before you react to any more reactors to anything Australian, because if so, and this pattern continues, you'll probably end up selling the whole country. Then thanks to you the rest of us will end up in Sh!ts Creek (wherever that is ) sadly sitting on a branch with you and giving you death stares.
@@barnowl5774 Barney, if you like Barnsey, Farnsey and The Seekers you have just passed the citizenship test. The Big Guy is in. No money has changed hands but I am open to offers - and that goes for a perch on my special branch where death stares are a requirement.
Welcome 🌄👏❤️
The Seekers were another great Australian folk pop band from the 60's. Judith Durham had such a beautiful voice. She just passed away recently. They had so many great hits including "I'll Never Find Another You", "Georgy Girl", "The Carnival Is Over", "A World Of Our Own", "Morningtown Ride", "Someday, One Day" etc. They have beautiful voices & harmonies. They don't make nostalgic music like this anymore. Reminds me of a simpler time.
The Georgy Girl term became very cozy. Those were the days. I became " Wendy Girl" from that Era. Fifth Deminsions..THANK YOU for you re knowledge and dedication.
The fellow singing the verses with Judith wrote that song. I get emotional every time I hear it. I am Australian and grew up with The Seekers as my father loved them. Great reaction.
An American, I can't get enough of this song, especially the phenomenally evocative opening with didgeridoo playing!! Judith's vocals are so gorgeous, too. Thanks for letting this play straight through, Brother!
The Carnival Is Over is a fantastic song in itself but also a fitting tribute to Judith & the other band members after Judith's passing.
If you are on the journey You Are IN the Club! Thanks for reminding the rest of us that I Am, You Are, We Are Music Lovers!
from an aussie ,i respectfully thank you for your contribution to making the world a better place .
Great Reaction. Thank You and that comes from an Englishman who is Australia's greatest Cricket Sporting Rival :)
I've heard that this song is being considered to be Australia's new National Anthem.
If only 👏 🙏
Judith was a treasure, a kind humble beautiful woman with a pure heavenly voice she is very missed. Thank you for bringing wonderful music perhaps no longer heard commercially to us. 🌸🙂
ANY AND EVERY AUSTRALIAN WHO KNOWS THIS SONG sings along just like i do when i watch people react to this song, it has a lot of Australian words in it like bushie and battler, a bushie is someone raised outside of cities in small towns, and a battler is someone blue collar who works hard for their money, i am a bushie and a battler, i was raised in small towns, and work hard for the money i make.. any australian who knows this song cant help but sing with pride when we hear this song
What an anthem to belong to! It tells a great story. There was something in this that stirs the soul.
Dramasyde, I understand that feeling of missing out. Thank you to the Australian friends here in the vibe tribe for continuing to share greatness like this with us!
So true Charlotte. National anthems stir us, yet THIS IS ONE NOTHING MORE than honest pride in it s country, it s people and freedom it represents. Miraculous work, Micheal. She (Ms. Durham)..feels like a true sister, mother friend, which is so wonderful in Australia and especially the 60 s 70 s. Tnx agian
Gday! Many Aussies consider this to be our unofficial national anthem!! (It represents us better than our national anthem) ☮️💞🇦🇺
Judith singing Danny Boy in her youth is something to behold!
Good enough to knock both Elvis and The Beatles off the number one spot in the charts when the arrived and performed in England and still hold the largest crowd attendance in Australia on their return of 200,000 plus at the music bowl in Melbourne Australia
This is my favourite but Morningtown Ride is a beautiful lullaby my mother sang to my daughter, now I get to sing it to my grandchildren, they think I'm a baby whisperer, no, it's the song and tears come thinking of my mother.
When I find an artist after they have passed, I feel like my life has been robbed of something beautiful. I pray you are doing better.😊❤🙏
One of the great Aussie bands. They were amazing musicians with a wonderful sound. Judith was ill during this performance but still managed a superb performance. They kept the Beatles from number 1 here and were the first Aussie band to reach number 1 in the USA with "Georgie Girl". Well worth the rabbit hole you are about to traverse!
Judith died a few months back. What a voice. May she Rest in Peace.
Beautiful reaction and comments, it is a beautiful and meaningful song. So often here, people throw around the term 'the unofficial National Anthem', it is said about a lot songs that are great and everyone knows and loves, but in all honesty couldn't really be a 'National Anthem', I think that's because the one we have, doesn't really hit the mark for most of us, it just doesn't stir the emotion that it should. This song however, really could be a National Anthem, it's inclusive, emotional, and very uplifting, probably a bit long though. I don't know, but we do need a new one. ❤
"We are one , but We are many and from ALL the lands on earth We come" Of course you don't have to be from any particular place to love, respect and be a part of Aussie music and culture ! I've only recently found your channel and I'm gonna stay if you don't mind ! Love the content
Mate I can't hear this song without crying. Such a beautiful song - it should be our anthem. It covers all of us - and all that come! X
We mourned last year, our beautiful Judith Durham and Olivia. We also lost another of our greats, Renee Geyer, who was an amazing singer, in a different way. Listen to Judith and the Seekers singing Georgie Girl, or the Carnival is Over. Watch Renee Geyer sing Heading in the Right Direction. Wonderful singers all and sadly missed.
From my youth I remember George Girl and I’ll Never Find Another You by The Seekers. Not music I ever gravitated to but it’s very sad that Judith has passed. A very beautiful voice indeed, and another reminder to us all that our musical heroes of the 60’s & 70’s should be cherished because the years are catching up to them and to us as well. Nice heartfelt comments Michael and condolences to all the Vibe Tribers down under. 🙏

@@DramaSydETV Great Reaction. Thank You and that comes from an Englishman who are Australia's greatest Cricket Sporting Rivals:)
God I love my country. This Aussie has a tear in her eye. ☮️🇦🇺
RIP Beautiful Judith Durham. 🕊️
the carnival is over please give that a listen thank you
Will do
Good choice - one of my old time fav's as well m8
My favourite Seekers song as a child. ‘The Carnival is Over’ was the first album I ever owned. I was about 4 years old ❤️🇦🇺
I was lucky enough to have gone to Many The Seekers concerts in the 2000s and 2010s. I became a fan after seeing the closing ceremony of the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games on TV and loved the immediately. I was 17 at the time. I went to as many concerts as I could afford, even travelling to different states here in Australia. Judith was always so nice to her fans when meeting her at the stage door. I remember one time she even took us just inside the venue as it was cold. I miss her a lot.
Beautiful, thoughtful reaction to our beloved Seekers and their Iconic song.
She had a beautiful voice. Nailed it right up to the end.
Fourth time in a row I’ve listened to this song in reaction videos and it never gets old, still get goosebumps. 🇦🇺Proud😊👍. Love your work mate, keep it up 👍
I'm British born and came here as an 11yr old and raised family and will be 83 in a few weeks. I love Australia
We all agree this should be our national anthem.
Well there you go. I'm an Aussie and never realised this was sung by The Seekers. Just thought it was a random Qantas ad many years ago. Always gives me tears as a proud Aussie.
I wish that we in the USA could have this attitude.
Amen
That's strange Wayne. As an Aussie I've always thought Americans are a lot more patriotic than us Aussies. Especially our younger ones. They don't realise how lucky we are to be born here, myself included until I travelled the world.
@@carolinelane9599 Patriotic in a different way to us Aussies, we quietly praise our land and our people..IMO Americans shout it out loudly but don’t practice it.
I'm not Australian and this song reduces me to tears. I've always been a massive fan of The Seekers. Great to see you back Drama. I've missed you and your reactions. Belated Happy New YEAR and wishing you a healthier one.
The Seekers were wonderful 💕💕
You can join the Aussie club!!!! I just found you and you instantly have another fan!!! This song is considered by many to be one unofficial national anthem!! ☮️💞🇦🇺
🙏🏾
I'll second this motion
Really miss our Judith 🥺. Luckily we have youtube, Spotify and my old cds to satisfy my craving for her perfect voice 👌❤️
Judith could have blown the rest off the stage but she saw the band as the whole and would blend seamlessly
Glad to see you back ❤. Judith’s voice is like the clearest richest bell
Living in a place where "crown thy good with brotherhood" is still a distant goal with seemingly less and less meaning, I am envious of the spirit in this beautiful song.
It may be of interest, back in 1967 the Seekers held an outdoor concert, an estimated 200,000 people attended. I am unsure if the record still stands. You will love the performance. I have posted a link below. Thx for your reactions, most enjoyable.
I should be honest and admit, that I felt so emotional watching this review, almost cried.
It's never too late to join the club!
I was in high school and college in the US in the 1960s, when our music was about change for the better and hope for the future. I wish we could sing this song about America now- "we are one, but we are many, and from all the lands on earth we come, we share a dream and sing with one voice- I am, you are, WE are... " all Americans. It makes me want to cry.
We also heard the Seekers back then. The joy of "Georgie Girl!"
First male singer was the writer of song An inspiring song from a wonderful world famous Australian group from the 60's her name was pronounced like Durrum not D er-ham Sad loss of talent when she passed away and was given a City funeral in Melbourne pronounced Melbin Not Mel Bawn Glad that you enjoyed it
This performance never fails to bring a tear to my eyes. Love Judith Durham's pure angelic voice and their harmonies!
Fairly emotional song and proud to be Australian
I remember in school I was told that Australia was filled with convicts. When I started learning more about the true history I learned the truth. The prisoners were, for the most part, prisoners because of religious, and political differences with The British Empire.
Thank you Michael for reacting to this beautiful performance. Great reaction!
They were mostly sent here for minor crimes such as stealing a loaf of bread 😔 it wasn't really about politics or religion.
My State, South Australia, was a Free State (no Convicts). For the first 10 years you couldnt even be an ex-convict. We had the first Library is Australia and the second place in the World to give Women the Vote..
My first ancestors sent to were convicts my Great Great Grandfather was from Cape Colony, southern Africa 1819 and his wife from England 1825.. He was sent to Van Dieman's Land ( Tasmania )
Proud Aussie right here
I love your interest in Australian music. Respect brother 🙏
Thank You for your Reaction to our Wonderful Seekers! Warm Wishes from Australia🦘💜
Worth knowing that Judith Durham had just come off a massive stroke to perform in this farewell concert. She might look like a frail old woman in this clip, but her voice never left her
Hi mate, from Adelaide, South Australia (in the middle, down the bottom!) Subscribed, cant wait to see more..
Georgy Girl and I'll Never Find Another You are two of the great songs from the Seekers that became part of many personal soundtracks from the 60s on.
It always makes me feel so proud.
National treasures judith smiled the whole time , what a beautiful lady.
Thank you, we love to hear this. It is a song of Australian history and a guide for our future. We look forward to someone adapting the song to better suit as a national anthem (two verses and chorus.) Not a big deal, but just that Australians emphasise the second syllable of a polysyllabic word, compared to American emphasis of the first syllable. So it is Judith Duh-rum.
Listen to their song The Carnival is Over, plus I found a gem called Emerald City they do to the tune of a Beethoven piece with visuals from the movie, The Wizard of Oz, a great example of Judith’s voice ❤️
Hi I've watched quite a few reactions to this classic Aussie track and I have to say yours is one of the best. Talking of great Aussie artists who have passed, I should refer you to Doc Neeson who was the lead singer of my favourite Aussie band - The Angels. They were huge in Australia in the 70s, 80s and early 90s. They have a great catalogue oh Australian hits..so take your pick and react to No Secrets, Marseilles, We Got To Get Out of This Place...and many more!
Loved this reaction so much❤️❣️🇦🇺
You should have a look at When the Stars Begin to Fall video they did on the Fairsky on their way to England in 1964.
As always, your comments are spot on and heartfelt. ❤
Always brings a tear to my eye
I loved your synopsis Michael. Watch you a lot mate and really enjoy your reactions.
Thank you
I so admire your reviews and your thoughtful words. You may have noticed Judith was sitting on a stool as she was recovering from a mild stroke. As the crowd applause got louder the guy's helped her stand and walk to the end of the stage to receive the love from the audience. I'm still wiping away a tear or two, as this is as you said a beautiful song and means so much. Thanks again and much love from Australia. Ps if you have a chance I'd love to hear your reaction to Guy Sebastian. A singer/songwriter who writes from the heart about real life situations.
I have one tap for you tomorrow
@@DramaSydETV Oh thanks so much 💖
Thank you for a nice reaction, that was actually soothing, their voices went really well together.
Would love to see you react to Paul Kelly from little things big things grow. Brilliant story teller it's about indigenous land rights.
If you like the late Judith Durham's voice, watch the you tube video "When the stars begin to fall". It was recorded in the 60s when Judith was just 21. It will blow your mind.
Thankyou for a lovely reaction for a wonderful song and an amazing group.
Well that brought me to tears. I AM Australian
Honoured that I was born in Australia. I would never live anywhere else.
Thank you for this reaction. Beautiful rendition of this song, always brings a lump to my throat, my mum is a huge Seekers fan and I love Judith’s voice and the harmonies they create ❤
Speaking of amazing Australian artists, I know Guy Sebastian has been mentioned below but I don’t know if you’ve heard of Matt Corby? Another hugely talented Aus artist, his track Brother (live for jjj like a version) is sublime 😁
PS thanks for the Tool reactions too, love your work 😊👍🏻
Thank you 🙏🏾
I love you DramaSyde….you nail it every time ❤️
Thank you!
Her voice beautiful
Ausie here mate. You like our music so consider yourself in our club OK
Thank you 🙏🏾❤️
I like your approach to what you react to, there is no failure in not being aware what is out there; life is a journey of discovery, and it makes no difference when you find something new(to you), just appreciate it for what it is. We only come this way but once.
Amen
That was a live performance It open the footy season I believe and test She had an amazing voice
Appreciating something despite not being from that country is (in a way) the point of the song. "From all the lands on earth we come" but we choose/chose to be/stay/live Australian. You might also like "I still call Australia home" if you haven't reacted to it.
Trent resnor wrote that song its a Nin original, this is one that got him inducted in to the rocknroll hall of fame. After he did this song and Trent resnor heard it he gave Johnny cash the song. He said it's his song now! Johnny Cash died not long after this video was made. His wife dies just before it released I believe.
Love my Country
Nice reaction Syd, I'll check out some of your other Aussie reactions 👍
Thank you for sharing.
G'day, So so many referances that you will not appreciate who/what the are singing about. There are so many Aussie songs that have deeper meanings to Aussies.
As an example, In the song they mention a "Digger". That is refering to an Australian soldier. I beieve the term originated in France during WW1 as the Aussies were involved with the trench warfare and tunnels under the German forces. They would pack explosives into the tunnels to try and blow up the enemy.
i like this song there not many reactions to Hunters & collectors great Australin band
Please do yourself a favour and listen to more of the seekers,Judith had the most amazing voice I’ve ever heard,I have been a fan since they began.and yes of course I am Australian
I don't know if anyone alse has said this but really, it should be our national anthem. Unfortunately the rights are not for sale or the government don't want to pay it. I'm not sure which is true.
I am new to your channel , your words truely represent who you are .
Australia ❤
If you want to learn more about this wonderful place, read 'My Country', an amazing poem by Dorothea Mackellar.
The Seekers had some Beautiful Songs in the 1960s. Check it out. You won't be disappointed. 🇬🇧🇭🇲🇬🇸🇺🇲☮️
Should be our national anthem
It's a great song as it speaks about how the country has evolved over the centuries to present time
This is our history in a song cheers mate for your respect
Yes we have amazing singer writers
You need to be good as a small population so to make a living from it you need to appeal to most demographics
This is why they are as good live and multi talented and blend to most genre's
But if your good and win the people's hearts they will be the most loyal fans anyone can have
But if you get out of line they'll bring you down quicker then your rise to fame hence why most are humble
As they've worked hard to get the privilege to do something they love for a living and don't take it for granted
Because most start from the bottom as working class people to the fame they get it's not a easy gig 🦘🇦🇺👍
A beautiful reaction mate,cheers.
Great review, thank you 🙏

My favourite Judith Durham solo, is her live rendition of the old classic 'Oh Danny Boy'.
It's perfection!
