Loving your reaction and loving this: ... "you have to have instruments worthy of his voice" ... John gives 110% every time. His passion and energy are palpable - he involves himself with the audience - loves them. His concerts always feature superb musicians and he usually has little "solo" features for them and always acknowledges them. Many of the musicians and his back up singers have been with him since the 80s. John never disappoints. He likes to fling the microphone around too - not sure if he's ever hit one of the band members!!! He is the real deal. As a matter of interest ... this song was John's break-back song in the mid-80s after the Aussie music industry basically shunned him. Well, the fans never shunned him - we love him to bits because he commits that voice of his to every lyric, every note and in between songs gives us some laughs. Thanks for showing John the respect he has earned over 6 decades of singing his heart out.

@@cgkennedy Sadly - there always comes a time when the circle of life has to be completed. I have to tell you that at one month off 80, and with my children grown and flown with their own families, I am now on my own - I'm not lonely, plenty of people to see, still driving so fully independent - so far. But - I fully discovered John about 12 months ago and since then have been viewing videos on CZcams of his concerts, interviews and documentaries, and learning about his world class backing singers and band members . John sings and I am energised - his singing grips my heart and soul, and I'm feeling about 40 years younger! If I'm having a bothersome day I bring up You're the Voice, or Long Way to the Top, for serenity I go to Touch of Paradise - such beautiful lyrics - and Burn for You. And the slow, heartwrenching version of Help? I was never a Beatles fan but I love this version - it's in a class all on its own. Every day is Farnham day here, it's my pleasure to enjoy every one of his songs That can't be bad, can it? 8.1.24. UK. E❤

Having lived in Australia for many years, I came to realise that John Farnham is the greatest singer ever, and this song is the ultimate anthem to define what peace on a world scale means. 'We're all someone's daughter, we're all someone's son, how long can we look at each other, down the barrel of a gun'. No other song or singer has ever said it better or with more conviction.

dramasydETv, your reactions to our John at the greatest. Please keep them coming brother.
As an Aussie born in the late 70’s, he has been the anthem of my life, now living in the UK and not a day I don’t listen to him at least once.

Tina Arena is another Australian artist of the highest caliber. Her voice is magnificent like John's and for me Tina is up there close to the greatest voice in Ella Fitzgerald. When Ella sings you know that God exists. Thanks for sharing.

His own band with the MLB symphony orchestra. The orchestra had ball as it's a terrific change from Mozart, Beethoven, & the clasics.
He holds the mike a long way out sometimes coz his voice is so powerful. Mike might explode 🤣🤣

The Man The Legend, beautiful voice power and passion. This is not a song its an Anthem. The unofficial Australian National Anthem that more than just an entire Country know all the words to. I am Canadian and I will stand for this man singing this song. Much RESPECT!!!!!!

I have been fortunate enough in my life to see him in concert many times, in small and large venues this man conquers all. I have been a devoted fan since I was 8 years old.🥰

  • @maximummilitiaimmaculataem883

My friend used to go to school with hes son and he’s stories of going around to Johnnys house playing pool and having Johnny just sing over the games room bar was just a common thing for him growing up as he was just so happy & willing to engage & entertain & hang out with hes son & he’s mates.
I was in grade 5 when this song came out in 1986 and we kids instantly picked it as our closing song to our end of year play performance. Great memories as it brings a tear of joy & pride of this great Aussie & message in the performance - which is so relevant to today’s chaos & confusion in response to the growing totalitarian global control

Yes sir you are 100% correct John is known here in Australia as 'The Voice' I loved your analysis and reaction to this awesome performance. If you do more of John please do a 'live' performance as in the early days 'videos' were not so great lol. More from this particular concert is a must... try a Beatles classic 'Help' which John takes to another level. (mind blown) 'Long Way to The Top if you wanna Rock N Roll' and so many more. Been a long time subscriber and so glad you're visiting my country Australia and checking out this legend.

That’s why Farnsey is called “The VOICE “, he’s even better than when you’re sitting in that audience and listening to him live. I had that privilege ten times! Us Aussies 💗💗💗💗💗him. Wait when you get to know his Comedic side!😂you’re going to have so much fun going through his amazing catalogue of songs!

Thanks for the reaction to "The Voice". I absolutely agree with you with your frustration at performers who can't reproduce the same quality in a live setting. It's so disappointing!! You will find most Australian artists have to cut their teeth on being able to perform live before they get any major appreciation from audiences here let alone if they want to make it overseas. Great to hear you will be doing more of John - he has a huge catalogue of music that you can't go wrong with.
Here's another one from the same concert if you get a chance - "Playing to Win" czcams.com/video/tDSh8ADBVHA/video.html

This is ours 🇦🇺, we learn it for school concerts, 99.9% of Australians know every word. He's not well at moment, maybe never sing again, sad but we love John and wish him & family everything. 🇦🇺
