My mother said Vinny Barbarono was the most popular not Horshack.....sorry mom 😔
Vinny Babarino was definitely the most popular character. John Travolta had that character down to a tee. I am sure everyone wanted Ron to do Horshack’s trademark laugh every time they saw him.
Vinny was the man, lol
Yo Mama was right.
@@trumancapote9097 yep she was!👍
Horseshack was one of the main & originals characters...but was not by far the popular one..."vinnie barbarino ,Washington " then horseshack
I was working in an Edmonton, Canada tv station/ ITV in 1978 in the studio when "Horshak" showed up for an interview on the Barb Kelly Show. He told the interviewer that his first love was serious stage acting and that he was doing some Shakespeare. The interviewer offered to have us shoot him doing Shakespeare. So immediatley he went ahead and did some Shakespeare. we turned down the lights and put a camera right on him in a pool of light in the middle of the studio. He proceeded to do some pretty good Shakespeare and when he finished he was so happy and shook all our hands and thanked us for taking him seriously. real moving moments.
Wow!!! What a wonderful memory you will always have of Ron!
It wasn't "Welcome Back CARTER". It was "Welcome Back KOTTER".
😂😂😂😂😂😂
karter
Adam West was resentful about being unable to get other acting jobs. He then embraced his Batman fame and made a good living doing voice over work and doing tons of comic book conventions. He was happy to talk to fans and meet their kids who loved Batman too. His Batman DVD's of the show are still selling well. He was well loved for his humor and kindness to fans. It doesn't have to be so hard to dump the past. Like you said, make it work. Thanks, Lamont.
He got laid a lot during his Batman days
BS
I feel old. Where the heck did our youth go? I just watched, "Welcome Back Kotter" like yesterday when I got home from school! (6th grade). Wow.
RIP Ronald Gabriel Palillo (April 2, 1949 - August 14, 2012)(aged 63) you will truly be missed, and thank you for entertaining us.
You always wonder what ever happened to certain people on shows that you grow up watching and the next thing you know, your telling their story and visiting their head stone, how short life really is and yet some people make it so difficult for themselves and others. I never knew like so many others you've done, that he passed away. R.I.P. Horse shack and thank you for another informative Vlog as always Lemont.
Q
Horshack
Agreed
Even though Ron's acting career didn't turn out the way he wanted, he left us with one of the most endearing characters of the 1970's.
Thank you Ron, you may be gone from this earth but you will live on in our memories and hearts. 💕
One of the nicest cemeteries you've shown us! The yellow autumn leaves are fabulous! RIP Ron! Thank you Lamont!
Also is not lonely as some others
Welcome Back Kotter was my fave for a long time. I met my best friend in 8th grade in the 70s because she laughed just like him and the whole class use to make her laugh hard just to hear it. Thanks for sharing his life with us.
i remember this show = wow am i old rolmao
I used to love that weird laugh of Horshack's and Vinnie was my boy
You're right the show did go down after John Travolta left. John Travolta did not leave because of creative differences, he left because his career started taking off. Saturday night fever catapulted John's career to another level. In actuality John Travolta was the binder in this series.
I'm an old Star Trek fan. I seem to remember that Leonard Nimoy had the same struggle. First he tried to distance himself from Spock, then he embraced Spock.
I'd like to embrace Lt. Uhura
Yeah, it was interesting how he went from writing a book called - 'I AM NOT SPOCK' to writing another book called - 'I AM SPOCK.'
@@joeambrose3260 I got to literally embrace Lt. Uhura. Nichelle Nichols invited me to sit at her table at a party in 1998 in Pasadena, CA.
@@richardlee2120 Please post positive proof pronto. Pics preferred
@@joeambrose3260 I have a great picture of us but can't upload stills.
WOW look at that those beautiful Fall colors 😍 RIP Ron. Peace out Lamont
RIP Ron 🙏🏼
Stay safe out there Lamont ❤️🙏🏼❤️
He was the OWNER of that role. Nobody else could come close imho. Rest easy, sir.
Agree
I never knew he passed away 😔 what a great actor and tribute
Same i had no idea what a great show that was!
I guess you guys were living in the Bio - sphere
@@joeambrose3260 I normally work 10 hour days so I'm just happy I know where I'm at most days 🙃
. U got me. I'm a career couch potato. U go girl !
I never knew he passed away either and nearly tens years ago on that.
The most popular character on WBK was Travolta's Vinnie. Remember that celebrity boxing match when Ron fought Screech from SBTB? Now they're both gone.
So sad he had such a chip on his shoulder for the remainder of his life..I hope he found peace in his life..he died long before he should have!! I LOVED "Welcome Back Kotter!!" xo
LMAO.. He did NOT have a chip on his shoulder
Loved Welcome Back Kotter, and the whole cast. When John Travolta and Gabe Kaplan left. It was never the same. But Horshack was super funny!
I didn't know he had passed
One of the usual best scenes of Welcome Back , Kotter is when Horshack would get freaking excited as he raised his hand as he exclaiming :. Oo , oo , oo , oo , oo , oo ,oo !!!
watched that show when i was a kid ,still can hear the opening song , "welcome back ,welcome back, welcome back"
Oh,oh,oh...Mistah Kaaataaah! I know!
I just said that out loud! 😂
Welcome Back,Kottter was awesome. Horshack carried a Planet of The Apes lunchbox.
I didn't remember about the lunch box...I had a friend who went to Gstar school in west palm beach where mr.pallilo taught before he died she said he wasn't a very nice person in real life...thats a shame...I never knew he was gay til after he died ...not that it matters....
I remember him being interviewed by my local radio station 96.5 in Rochester NY back in the (guessing) late 80s. Before he came on, the DJ'S made a point to tell us they are purposely NOT going to ask him about Horshack because he gets pissed. They they totally avoid it and then Paolillo brought it up like he was upset they didn't ask him about it.
I thought it was cold that Lamont didn't bring up the fact that Ron Paolillo was gay or that he died of a heart attack until I read that. So in other words, he found out he was boring af and then he acted as though it was the fault of the DJ's who had to dwell in eternal rust only to have it get worse once Kodak left. Maybe I need a Snickers or something, but how did he get the idea that he should've known what Kim Basinger's tonsils tasted like?
Eric V....Cold ?....i think it's just a matter of respect and irrelivant...
@@blueforest2927 totally agree 👍
Yeah it like you want to be a opera singer but your a dam good clown, that show was such a hit with all the kids in the whole country .
He loved playing Horshack and ANYBODY saying otherwise like Lamont is RIDICULOUS
Loved that show! Those were the best shows ever, in the 70,s. Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back! Never will forget those shows! Thanks 😊 Lamont for remembering this show! R.I.P. Ron.
Crazy how some rich famous people go for the simplest funerals with headstones , Brings it home that we are all the same , Excellent video
This will be my favorite grave you’ve visited so far. I love Welcome Back Kotter, I own the complete series box set on DVD I’m about to start on season 3 the opening episode is a Christmas episode.
Man, he sure was funny in that character, the way he made that sound with his nose. When he laughed everybody laughed 😂
Another great video!! A suggestion of a grave to visit: Mary Ann Ganser of the 60's girl group, The Shangri-Las, is buried in St. Charles Cemetery, in East Farmingdale, NY. She died of a drug overdose in 1970, at the age of 22. Some of her twin sister's ashes (her twin sister was Marge, and was also in the group) are buried with her. Just a suggestion. Keep making those videos.
Now I know Lamont said he would never sugarcoat anything once upon a time, but I think 100k views might change his mind, Obviously, I can only be speaking of the late, the great, the man of the breakfast hour and the man too sweet to be sour, ladies and gentlemen, Lamont must bring you the grave of Count Chocula!
Oh, and if Lamont's down Houston way and can avoid the stray bullets, football fans would like to pay their respects to Bum Phillips. Hey, his glutes are in God's hands now.
Thanks for the bedtime story. It's gonna work great
Shadow Morton was a spooky record producer. The Shangri-Las were doomed because of him.
I agree 👍
Welcome Back Kotter was such a wonderful show! RIP, Ron.
Would love to see Chico and the man! Their resting places! Thanks 😊 Lamont.
I loved it when the line "Mr. Cot T A" was used for Kotter !! Classic show that I love to watch in reruns !!
Thanks Lamont for taking us to Ron's grave. I loved Welcome back Kotter. RIP Horshack!
Thanks for sharing. This was such a beautiful cemetery. Especially with all of the trees changing for fall. 😊
That cemetery is stunningly beautiful. Perfect time of the year for filming it.
Gilda Radner is buried in Connecticut also
He was a lovely man. Talked to him often on Facebook. He was sad sometimes and always tired to cheer him up. The depression was deeper than he let on. No one wanted to hire him because of his roll on wbk.
Yes i cried when he passed
So sad
Horrible loss for him and us. 😭
Isolation 2021 Movie Comin' Soon **Sneak Preview**czcams.com/video/qR_Jatdfw4Q/video.html ..........
@Adolf Hitler everyone was jealous of John Travolta 😉
I loved watching Welcome Back Kotter. Thank you for sharing this video!! Many blessings❤❤👍
This is the classic line I remember from the show - "Up your nose with a rubber hose."
Growing up here in Australia in the late 1970s I use to run home from school just to watch welcome back Kotter and YES Arnold Horseshack was MY favourite character in the show as In the school class way back then I'd use to imitate Horseshack in class and the trouble I'd get into........ Thanks Arnold..........RIP Mr Ron Patillo
I love getting a glimpse into all your travels..
'75-'79 took me through High School. Really enjoyed the show and all the characters
What about Wolfman Jack, he is buried in North Carolina...
I love Wolfman jack. ❤
Beautiful autumn colors. Loved that show.
He died from a heart attack
Thanks for that info Brenda - I wondered what he died of ? I was looking back on the video , thought I missed the cause of death some where .
Loved welcome back Kotter & the whole cast.RIP Horshack❤🙏
Wow I enjoyed him on the show, but I didn't know he left this life, GOD Bless His Soul Cares All Passed Home At Last Forever To Rejoice He Is At Peace 🕊️🕊️🕊️
That’s sad. To go from a wildly-popular star to a lonely grave with nothing on it.
Thanks Lamont ! He is buried in West Haven Ct. not West Hartford ct. 😀 on Forest Rd. I know because I live right down the street and went to visit his grave in 2014 On another note I heard a disembodied voice say “yeah, all them died” at the 5 min. 34 sec. mark on vid. That graveyard is a very well known haunted one. Next time you are here go to the big cemetery in New Haven Ct. that has the famous “MIDNIGHT MARY” grave.
.
I thought I heard a whisper while watching and after reading this I went back and you are right!
Wow clearly said
Yeah I heard that too. Went back and heard with the sound all the way up (I’m on an iPhone). Usually when people comment about stuff like that I don’t hear it.
Hear it. Too wow
That was Lamont making that noise
“Very impressive, Mr. Kott-errrrrr”
I just read that in Horshack’s voice 😂
A really great show Lemont ! I always watch you show when it comes on !
Thanks so much !!!
Yes I remember when he passed he definitely was a serious actor and great on welcome back cotter I miss those shows when you really saw the true art of talented actors and Ron was one of them rip Ron .
Right after having a nose job, Ron Paolillo went on Celebrity Boxing to have a match with Screech from Saved By The Bell. Paolillo told him to take it easy and Screech still messed up his nose because he could only pull punches so much. After that, Paolillo said, "I never want to see you again" in the hopes that'd blackball his career. I don't know who does that, but that's usually the trademark of actors other actors hate because they're trying to create villains out of nothing at all because they suck. Sorry. It had to be said.
Rest in Peace Ron Palillo. I watched the series faithfully and Horskack was definitely one of my favourite characters. I knew that he was a serious actor and it's too bad that Hollywood and fans typecast these people.
You were a great actor Ron and hilarious also.
R.I.P Ron. 🙏🌍✌️
I haven't watched welcome back kotter in years thank you so much for what you do on finding graves and telling history you get right to the point I have subscribed your page I'll be looking forward for more of your incredible adventures thank you 👍
Loving this new Channel, Lamont! You even sound happier Thanks so much!!!!
He was teaching in Florida when he passed, wow. Giving back to future actors in a way. Neat he did that, bet his students have great memories of him too. Thanks for sharing this story.
I can still hear the “Welcome back Carter” Theme song in my head. Funny show! Great video as always Lamont!
Thanks for covering this man's life and for visiting his grave. That autumn scenery is just beautiful in Connecticut. Enjoy you your Chinese meal !
LOVE how You give Detailed History of the person You're bringing to Us!!!!! ❤❤❤👍👍👍
Thank you, so much, for sharing this! Loved "Welcome Back, Kotter" & "Arnold Horshack" ("Ooooh, Ooooh, Mr. Kotter! Mr. Kotter!")
I loved this show!!! Thank you for visiting his grave. 🕊🕊🕊RIP Ron
Loved Welcome Back Kotter ... RIP Ron ... One of the best shows ever ...
Agreed on the Chinese food bro.
Oh oh oh I can remember him saying while raising his hand in class. RIP 💙
Hi Lamont, hope your well, some beautiful grave stones out there, RIP Ron, I’m sure you won’t be forgotten, all the best Lamont. Don’t eat too much Chinese, xxx
Lamont, great video. Kitty Genovese’s grave is in Connecticut. That case has always fascinated me.
Eat enough Chinese food for me
That brought back soooooo many memories. Thanks alot!!!
Welcome back

Welcome back, welcome back
Welcome back
We always could spot a friend
Welcome back
And I smile when I think how you must have been
And I know what a scene
You were learnin' in
Was there somethin' that
Made you come back again?
And what could ever lead you
(What could ever lead you)
Back here where we need you?

Yeah, we tease him a lot
'Cause we got him on the spot
Welcome back
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back

You were learnin' in
Was there somethin' that
Made you come back again?
And what could ever lead you

Yeah, we tease him a lot
'Cause we got him on the spot
Welcome back
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back
Welcome back, welcome back
Yeah, we tease him a lot
(Welcome back, welcome back)
'Cause we got him on the spot
(Welcome back, welcome back)
Yeah, we tease him a lot
'Cause we got him on the spot
Welcome back
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome baaaaaaaaaack.
Thank you! I remember singing that! Couldn't stand Travolta in it though! Such a sad grave for him though! Thanks...
@@passivitysmith5314 me too. Yw.
Well done! Great theme song.
LOVED that theme song! I sing along with it every time I watch reruns.
I want to thank you for traveling to the cemeteries along with you I pay my respects too. Have you ever thought of visiting some presidents graves? George Washington, Abe Lincoln, teddy Roosevelt! The older graves.
Lamont, if you are ever in North Carolina, please consider doing a video on the Lawson family tragedy. Their gravesite is in Germanton North Carolina. Charlie Lawson murdered his entire family, including himself, on Christmas day. Fascinating stuff. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Charlie Lawson killed his family except for his oldest son, who he sent to town to buy bullets that day. While son was in town, he murdered his entire family. The son died in a car accident years later. My husband is kin to the Lawson family and can give more family details the family knows. There as a local book, that was published, White Christmas, Bloody Christmas years later. This happened on Christmas Day. The whole family is buried in Germanton.
Great actor. Thanks for sharing, Lamont.
He was also in Friday the 13th part 6, he got killed by Jason at the beginning of the movie...He was Tommy's friend!🌹😃 I watched Kotter on reruns in the 80's very funny!👍
Greasy Chinese food is awesome! I don’t need that food either but you only live once!
Great video and once again you captured some beautiful fall colors that I don't see anymore relocating to Florida. Also I like my Chinese food same way.
Thanks for this Lamont.Awesome show
love you lamont!!!❤ he's missed, thanks for remembering ron p. rip!! 🤗👐🤗👐🤗 and ✌☮🕊🏳♥❤✌ out.
I remember him.May he Rip"
I LOVED this show as a kid. Thanks for covering this.
This channel has definitely caught my attention. Please keep up the good work.
Lamont always bringing the good stuff!👍
I think John Travolto and Gabe Kaplin were the stars, not Horschak.
I just saw on a video with cops trying to I'd you for no reason !! I'd no your voice anywhere.Keep up the great work Lamont
Always a pleasure Lamont ❤
I went to a convention in East Moline, Illinois called Midwest Monster Fest and they had a reunion for Friday The 13th Part VI. Jason Lives and the cast that worked on that film spoke about Ron Paolillo. He had a small role in the film and killed off in the cemetary by Jason Vorhees. The cast talked about how bitter Mr. Paolillo was and that like you said a serious actor. I am friends with the cast that worked with Mr. Paolillo on Facebook. I even remember Mr. Paolillo also making an appearance in the pilot episode of The A-TEAM as a reporter working for the paper that Amy Baker worked at.
Another gravesite to consider visiting is that of one of the most beautiful Hollywood stars ever, Ava Gardner. She was married to Frank Sinatra but the marriage didn’t last long, probably because both had very tempestuous tempers. Ava is buried in a cemetery in her hometown of Smithfield, NC which is in the eastern part of the state. She has a modest gravestone which reflects her small town roots in the city of Smithfield.
She was unbelievably good looking.
Vinnie Barbarino was the character I remember most. I was born in 70 & remember growing up to Welcome Back Kotter. Classic show.
Thank you Lamont for this blog. Ron P was a very talented actor. RIP in peace DEAR HEART
It's so sad how many of the cast of Welcome Back Kotter have passed away now. I loved that show the first season, then of course every episode just turned into waiting for a character to say his or her stupid tag line. I guess people like repetition and predictability (or the screenwriters think we do). I used to like Epstein's character a lot too. Horshak definitely reminded me of some of the wierd kids in school.
John Travolta still alive isn't he? 🤵🏍🕴🏻💃🏻🕺
I loved him. Ooh ooh, Mr Kotter✋
Wonderful work Lamont. This was my.fav t.v. show growing up !!!! It's "KOT TER""""
What a crazy interesting niche you have...and research to back it up!. Good job.
I loved Horseshack
A really funny Kotter !
May He be in Heaven.
With that laugh let Him
Be at Peace.
Since you're Lamont and you just opened the door for old sitcoms, you reminded me of Sanford and Sons.
I've never seen this show, gotta check it out. Great content as always!
Hi Lamont ,
Love your Channel and I appreciate your Work about your Videos ♥️
I have now a hard Time and you helps me a lot.
Greetings from Germany 👍
I'd love you to visit Jane/John Doe's who got their identity back after years. Failing that can you research Freddie J Jenkins. A young boy 13 turning 14 who was found hanging by his mother's scarf when dressed in her clothes. Ruled suicide until they discovered he'd bruising to his abdominal region. And 2 puncture wounds in his neck. Find a grave has him noted
I do not know it other people who do this kind of entertainment have referred your work I have to say it but, many are jealous of you, I can understand why, you are simple and you present your information so well , I really enjoy your style.
Love this one! Thanks Lamont! ♥️
Hi Lamont. I’m a new subscriber. I used to watch Wecome Back Carter with my grandma when I was a kid. I loved that show! I live in CT today and not too far from this cemetery. I had no idea Ron was born in CT and he also went to the university of Connecticut! I went there too. Super cool! Hope you enjoyed the Chinese food! 😊
Perhaps the worst example of being typecast was with George Reeves playing the TV Superman. He became Superman to world. He never could get acting work after that and he started to work behind the camera directing though his premature death kept him from getting far with that.
