My husband and 9year old daughter were killed in an accident with a Mack truck in 1999. My son was in our van as well, but he lived. The driver of the MACK truck was at fault but the family had money so it was covered up. I live in Pennsylvania. I put two small crosses at their accident site but PENDOT in all their wisdom took them down. The loss of your family in an accident never leaves you.
So much sadness at my 21 yr olds daughter grave too. She was murdered by a "friend". I also lost another girl at birth. When a young person dies, it is the worst pain. Many in my family have not lived that long either. I just can't mourn an older person who has passed because they lived their lives. I just don't feel the same when an older person in my family dies. You are right, we are not interested in those stories. BTW, the dog/cat pic is sweet. I have my daughter with her dog and her cat separately on her headstone.
I feel totally the opposite. When an old person passes, they take a whole history book with them. Stories of things, events that the young will never experience. I lost my mum 12 years ago and the pain is always in me, as strong as ever, it never stops.

That's why they tell them to you, so that you can repeat the stories. To lose a young person, especially a child would be the most unbearable thing that can happen. I lost my 35 year old brother to cancer in 2018. He never smoked, did drugs or anything. I can't imagine losing one of my children or grandchildren. I understand losing a parent is difficult. My mother died 3 months after my brother. She was battling her own cancer when he came down with it. She took care of him night and day, as did the rest of the family. She gave up after losing her baby. I knew she would. He was special needs and was adopted with them knowing it. She was my rock. But losing a young person, you have that "what could have been" that will follow you. Knowing they will never marry or have children would be devastating with the loss.

I have cancer and I am just hoping I have a little more time than the only 20% that make it to five years from date of diagnosis. I do look forward to the peace though!

I love that you tell people's stories. My grandma always said that a headstone is proof that someone walked this Earth. Also, I do care about your weight loss. I am about halfway myself! We all assume that everyone has a happy n rich life. We're all mistaken. As you say , we all have sad lives behind us . Not everyone is going to tell you their sad side of their lives. 😢they don't want us to feel sorry for them. We do feel sympathy (I do)n sadness for them. Lamont you are so right ! I was 23 years old when my father was killed on La hwy.39 in Chalmette , La. October 1989. The absolute Worst Day of my life. My dad was only 57 , same age I am now. Today if he were alive he'd be 92. :(
Always interesting content in all your videos, Lamont. I was looking at a video the other day on YT where someone back around 1905 had filmed a day in New York City. Fascinating, and then it struck me that every single person in that video walking around or going their daily routine is now long gone. So, I do enjoy when you go back and talk about the life and times of someone from way back when. You Have the most interesting and concise stories, plus showing us where when and how these stories took place we can put ourselves in the position of the victims and their family members with only the bare minimum of closure, in regards to their tragic losses. Many families never receive no ease up of their grief. You visiting at their graves shows me / us, the true reality and finality Of death; gives one cause to shudder, and catch our breath . Lamont you are so right ! I was 23 years old when my father was killed on La hwy.39 in Chalmette , La. October 1989. The absolute Worst Day of my life. My dad was only 57 , same age I am now. Today if he were alive he'd be 92. :(
Always interesting content in all your videos, Lamont. I was looking at a video the other day on YT where someone back around 1905 had filmed a day in New York City. Fascinating, and then it struck me that every single person in that video walking around or going their daily routine is now long gone. So, I do enjoy when you go back and talk about the life and times of someone from way back when. The guy that took the radium was really interesting, but what a terrible decision he made to take that stuff. Keep up the good work, we appreciate you.

I also love visiting cemeteries here in England the old graves fascinate me they seemed to put a lot more artistic work into the headstones.
