AE TIP #1: Animate a Screenshot

We're starting a new series: Quick Tips in Adobe After Effects! In today's After Effects Tip, Brandon shows you how to easily pull things out of a screenshot.
- Duplicate a layer
- Draw a mask
- Lock the mask (this prevents accidently changing it)
- Use an anchor point mover tool to set it to the middle (see below)
- Drop some scale keyframes
- Duplicate those keyframes and then reverse them (Right click / Keyframe Assistant / Time-Reverse Keyframes)
- Easy ease them
- Add some effects to the background layer & keyframe them (Tint / Levels / Blur)
- Add & keyframe drop shadow to foreground layer

Another tip: If you don't have an anchor point mover tool, you can use: cmd/ctrl + double click on the pan behind (anchor point) button on your toolbar.
Thanks to u/Responsible_Guess_71 on Reddit for pointing this out. That being said, I would recommend adding an anchor point mover script to your AE toolbelt because its something that is always handy to have!
