  • This video is the second installation of my build-through series on this heavily field-modified StuG III, in which I construct the engine deck and the fenders. In this series I'll show all my tips, tricks, and suggestions for assembling Dragon/Cyberhobby 1:35 StuG III kits!

      +Armour Empire Thanks mark! These Dragon Smart Kits are the best! You should have done one rather than that older MLRS it sounded like a massive pain in the ass lol but still you did an epic job on it :D

    Those bars you put in the spare wheels are spare track pins. Great build , looking forward to watching the rest of it.

    I'm going to have to remember that trick with the tow cables.

      +Forbes Hutton Glad my tips are useful! I find this way I don't have to fight with the cables as much

    use a set of tin snips to cut the metal tow cables, they cut easily & leave a nice smooth edge. Does not mess the braiding. The metal tow cables in the newer Dragon kits are thinner.

    Great Video Panzermeister.. lots of useful tips and tricks.. I had not thought to cement in the tow cable ends first then fit and bend the wire cable.. that would certainly be a lot easier and will give it a try on my Skoda Lt 35 under construction.

      @Panzermeister36  Před 9 lety

      +Harry Houdini Thanks Harry! I've done these tow cables many times and yes this method is the easiest for me as I don't have to fight it all the way. Glad my video was helpful to you buddy :)

    Nice video....those pins on the rear deck inside the wheels were to hold the spare wheels in place on the "later" stugs. Another simplification to speed production....

    I normally do wingy kits and have moved over to armor and the best tool I have that I've applied to both type kits is a flex-I-File. They are awesome for round edges etc.

    • @Panzermeister36
      @Panzermeister36  Před 9 lety

      +amishhitman Thanks for the tip man i'll check it out! I'm hoping to try out some wingy things too sometime; they look awesome and in fact planes are my first love, then tanks second. But all the clear bits and alignment and everything scares me a little, but I'd better just give it a go!

    The only gripe I have is the time you spend demonstrating the snipping, filing, and sanding of the various parts, otherwise, BravoZulu.

    • @Panzermeister36
      @Panzermeister36  Před 7 lety

      Thanks man. I'll try to limit that in my next video. I'm doing another build like that soon so I'll only show filling the tricky bits like the barrel and tiny details. Seeing the bits go together with some advice is really all you need since cutting and filling is basic stuff! Again, thanks for the input.

    The only quirk i have with ya is you need to learn to cut AWAY from you it only takes one wrong time and youll see why. I learned the hard way lol exactl knifes willmdo some major damage.

    Hello Evan first let me say that you're doing a beautiful job. The kit you are building . What brand is it and how is it possible to buy . However Yours sincerely, Bjarne . From Denmark

    • @Panzermeister36
      @Panzermeister36  Před 8 lety

      +Bjarne Andersen Thanks Bjarne! This kit is a Dragon "Smart kit" (It's actually a Cyberhobby kit, but Cyberhobby is a company within Dragon). I don't know where you could buy this kit; I live in Canada so I don't think you could come over to my local shop where I got it. You might be able to get this kit, or one very similar to it online though.
      Here is a review I did of the kit here: czcams.com/video/mhbu6RK_7Is/video.html.
      As I was saying before, Cyberhobby is a sort of company within Dragon. Cyberhobby mainly produces specialized versions of Dragon's kits, such as this one which is a normal Dragon StuG III Ausf.G mid production. Cyberhobby added the late type of gun mantlet and the extra tracks for armour and those unique fuel canisters on the back to represent a photo of this one StuG that existed.
      Unless you are interested in this exact kit, other Dragon StuG III kits should be much easier to find while being nearly exactly the same. These kits are very good and I like them a lot...I have made 5!
