Cooking together with your kids is such a fun way to give them confidence and improve their counting skills- I have such fond memories from my childhood, helping Mom in the kitchen-
Bonnie- I saw that your egg carton had emptied shells in it when you opened it. Highly recommend that you get rid of the shells once emptied. They are a petri dish for bacteria once they are opened. This bacteria can then be spread each time the carton is open. It can be any bacteria that is floating around the kitchen at the time- With as many ear infections and sickness you all have had, this may help-

Boston and Lincoln melt my heart
You know when my daughter decided to give up her paci? When she was 4 and a half!!! That child was obsessed with that thing!! You know what made her finally give it up? The dentist asked her what her favorite toy was. She said Barbie dolls. He told her if she brought him all her pacifiers that he would go on a shopping spree for her and buy her all kinds of Barbie stuff. The next day she turned in all of those pacifiers and he gave her a whole pile of Barbie stuff. It was like Christmas. Best dentist ever!!!

Bonnie, my mom was watching the food network channel the other day and they were making a chocolate ganache with white chocolate icing and chocolate shavings on top of the cake. When they went to put the icing on they used orange marmalade as a base so there weren't any cake crumbs in the icing while icing the cake. It was an England show on T.V. it was beautiful.
Another tip to prevent getting cake crumbs in your icing is to dip your knife, or spreader, in a glass of water before you pick up the icing and spread. The icing will literally go on smooth as butter.
That sounds yummy though. I just want to get this right... they 'iced' the cake in marmalade and then put the icing overtop of it? I bet it was beautiful and also I'm sure it tasted amazing... my mouth is watering just thinking about it!
