Brilliant, thank you! Playing this right is actually incredibly difficult. The chords and notes might be easy for proficient guitar players, but the more I listen, the more I realized reggae rhythms, percussive style, slurs etc are super sophisticated and unique. I've been playing Bob Marley songs "ok" but basically wrong for 20 years. Raised on blues and rock, it's really hard to play this wonderful music the way the real reggae guys play it. I'm still working on it, but huge respect and thanks for the teaching. Reggae might just be the #1 most underrated and overlooked guitar genre, with so much to offer, and so much much finesse and groove required to get it right.

I empathize; it's difficult especially for us not growing up in Jamaica.. same for myself, and I play upside down lefty so even more so. The thing for all the instruments playing in the reggae style is to more focus on the rhythm of it, the feel, imo

No apologies needed! Very helpful lesson beyond just the sound. The tone, the strumming technique, to lay off and not play too loud or hard, all gems!
    Thank you.

Great musicians can take a common progression and build it out, into a great song, similarly to how classical music was typically a lot of movement, on top of a simple progression. The Bob's music never gets old, because of all of the subtle aspects, as well as the spiritual core, which can never truely be quantified or qualified - there is a mystical beauty, like great soul singers: you might learn the notes, but it's hard to capture the feel. Great job

Come back for another refresher lesson how to Strum guitar for stir it up.
Lastly, I took my twelve year old Foster son to ONE LOVE Bob Marley movie and twenty minutes into the movie , he turns to me and grabs my arm and said, "Hey dad, I think this is my newest favourite movie!"
And I was waiting for him to say, "because the music is great!", but he didn't say that, so I said why with a happy smile on my face (Hardcore Marley music fan since 1977) Michael says to me, "Because everyone's black like me!"

I have seen many people playing the Rhythm and the bass to Stir up correctly, But I never seen anyone playing the guitar solo accurately, like Peter Tosh does in Grey Whistle Test video. Can you do video lesson showing how to play Marley Stir it Up guitar solo parts , step by step the way Peter Tosh played it in the Grey Whistle Test video? Do you think you can challenge this solo?
