  • Using only three chords, Bob Marley's "Stir It Up," is a quintessential reggae anthem and one of his most cherished songs. First written and composed by Bob Marley in 1967, it was released as a single by the original Wailers (Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, and Bunny Wailer) that year. This version was closer to the ska and rocksteady genres that predated Reggae, and only consisted of two chords. Later, after Bob Marley had split from Tosh and Bunny, the song was re-recorded for release on his 1973 album “Catch A Fire.”
According to Rita Marley’s memoir No Woman, No Cry: My Life With Bob Marley, this song was written as a reflection of her life with Bob Marley. The pair had been married since 1966, and stayed together right up until Marley’s succumbing to cancer in 1981. Despite its modest initial chart performance, "Stir It Up" has grown to be one of Bob Marley's most popular songs, celebrated for its smooth reggae rhythms and enduring appeal.
This backing track is in the style of the 1973 version from “Catch A Fire” and is in the key of A.

This has always been one of the best mixed and mastered studio tracks of all time. Your photo somewhat symbolizes the movie which is much more of a cartoon version of the real man.
