    Always looking for ways to speed the process! Make sure you’ve gone to the bathroom before you arrive re-loading! Pack a lunchbox, water and snacks, like you’re going to a real job. Phone charger, of course. Bring a fat, black Sharpie pen to mark boxes. I’m experimenting with marking them alphabetically, rather than addresses, putting a large first letter of the last name on the corner of each box, then dividing the stack between 2 back side doors and hatchback of my suv. S, I ca see a whole stack with the letters all facing me. Envelopes go in a laundry basket a-z, like files in my passenger seat.

    I train drivers to ring the bell AFTER they finish taking the pic and swiping. Ring bell and walk away. The drivers are NOT hired to greet the customer. I myself don't want to drop what I'm doing in my house to find a driver standing there handing me a package. Waste of driver's time to stand there and wait.

      I agree with everything your saying but I know the Amazon official training videos before a new driver can deliver packages, they train the driver to ring the bell and wait with package in the hand and smiling. Then to hand the customer the package put in app handed to customer or the household members name. I worked for Amazon as a seasonal driver out Fresno ca delivery station. I help lunched that delivery station off the ground. My van was the first van to leave the station with packags, I think it's called DF2. But unless they changed their training because this was back in 2018. I know a isuee with that station was drivers would ring the bell and wait too long. Even some driver thought it was rude to ring bell and leave package with out waiting for the customer to greet the driver and receive the package in person.

    Thank you for the first tip, I never thought of writing the numbers on the boxes, this will save me time.

    • @drivehardearnhard6574
      @drivehardearnhard6574  Před 3 lety +3

      Yeah, it help alot. I don't write the full address just the numbers. For example if the house is 800 Miller way st. I will just write 800. But once you found your package just double check its the right address because theirs been few times where two stops will have the same numbers but different streets. Thanks for watching my video

    • @drivehardearnhard6574
      @drivehardearnhard6574  Před 3 lety +2

      @@michele18schmidt I'm glad to hear you were able to get your delivers done faster. As far as the envelopes go, yeah i agree they can be hard to find at times. I usually just keep them in the passager seat in the front next me so they dont get mixed up with boxs in the back but even doing this they can still be hard to find at times but least doing it like this you dont have to worry about pulling boxes out of your car to find a envelope under it. I hope this helps .

    I never ring doorbell to hand deliver to a person unless the directions instruct me to do so. Rarely rarely do I ever see that. I'm guessing that 95% of my packages get placed at the front door and picture taken. I will often go ahead and ring the bell just to alert them that there's a package.
    I've been flexing since Nov 2019 and I can remember only a couple times I EVER went over my block time. Customarily I complete a 3 hope route in 1-1/2 to 2 hours. I just finished a 3-1/2 hour route in 2-1/4 hours.

      I worked for Amazon as a seasonal employee during the holidays as a delivery driver. Part of their official training is they tell their driver to ring the bell and wait for customers to come out and hand the package to them personally. So I seen many many drivers who wait extremely long times for customers to come out. This ends up hurting them because they wait to long. I been on rides longs with others drivers and have done what they call "rescues" I seen this as was a common issue at my delivery office.

    All the wear and tear on one's car. Gas is not paid, long hours for nothing. This is what happens when an employer is abusing people. Get unionized, and conditions will change.

      @drivehardearnhard6574  Před rokem

      I'm not exactly sure because pay rate is different depending on the location. But I'm guessing any where from 120 to 160. I think the best thing to do is to try it out and see if you like it. Also this will give you idea of how much you will make in your area. You will be able to find out if it is worth it or not.

    Dont you waste more time writing the addresses??

    • @drivehardearnhard6574
      @drivehardearnhard6574  Před rokem

      Just write the numbers only, for example address is 1512 orange st. Then just write 1512. Then stack the boxes in your car where it's the first thing you see. Like I would stack them in my back seat. So when I opened the back door all the numbers will be facing me. So I would just instantly grab the box that I needed. This eliminates time wasted searching for a box that can be difficult to find at times or coming back to a house you skipped because you ended up finding the box that you thought went missing. Try it out and see if it works for you. If doesn't then you do whatever you think works best for you.

    • @drivehardearnhard6574
      @drivehardearnhard6574  Před rokem

      I forgot to mention occasionally you will run into places that have the same address number but different streets. For example one address might be 6736 orange st and another might be 6736 apple st. this is something you have be careful with when writing just the numbers. So just double check the label to be sure you have the right package. This is very rare that this happened but it does happen.

    Marking on any and all mail constitutes as mail tampering which is illegal. Read up on the the governance in commerce. You cannot mark on mail parcels and mailpieces and packages without giving someone a reason to sue you because times are tough and they "need this lawsuit" (monetary win) if they learn this law then you're screwed.
