We had snow free in germany a few times. But that was like 10-15 years ago. After that snow rarely shows up outside of high mountains.
Pretty sure Alabama reacts the same way to snow as Texas, but snow days were still never really a thing since it doesn't bloody snow where I grew up to begin with.

5:14 iirc, in my personal experience it's only if there's an *excessive* number of snow days that school gets extended into June - there's probably extra days scheduled to account for cancellations, and maybe they'd make a day that had been planned as early-release into a full day to make up for lost class time. The absolute latest day I can recall going to school on was May 30 and even then that was the optional 20-min day to pick up paper report cards (I didn't even need to do that myself, I just wanted to go to school on my birthday lol)
Also in my experience this only seems to apply to elementary thru high school; in january 2019 they cancelled basically an entire *week* of college classes bc weather and there was no extension of the year. Maybe if 2 or more full weeks were missed the year would be extended but idk.
This could all be peculiarities of where I'm from (NW IL, so snow isn't uncommon at all lol), maybe even down to just my hometown having those policies. I did K-12 all in one district so idk about how other places do it.

About the sportsmanship: The Netherlands had been taunting us for like the entire time before and during the match, adding to the fact that Van Gall (the Netherlands trainer) was someone who hated Latin Americans and the referee was awful (it looked as if he wanted attention) and yet everyone criticized us because we "bought the cup' (with what money?), Messi's handball (the play was stopped for a previous fault), the ball kicked out to the Netherlands bench (it was to kick it out, hell it wasn't that hard of a kick) or the end of the penalties (literally the Netherlands were harassing our players, what did you expect?)
All in all, it was an awful match, but it should be noted that we will play like you play. If you play with respect we play with respect, but if you don't then don't expect us to play with respect because you lost our respect.
