Actually, game against France was the best we've played in this tournament, in the first half we looked like we could win. Also, Canada did not do terrible, considering the sport not being popular there, they held their ground in every game. They were better than anyone would anticipate.

@@lormiy7959 Copernicus was Prussian, had little polish ancestry and barely spoke a word of Polish. He wrote publications and letters in German, Latin, French and Italian. He was neither "mostly Polish" nor "half Polish", his mother Barbara Watzenrode is said to have Polish relatives, but it's not entirely clear or proven. Also Copernicus did not swear any loyalty to the Polish crown, in fact he was very well connected with German lords, royalty and church representatives, some of whom funded his research.
The only pro-Polish loyalty in his life was his father (of the same name), who was an ethnic German merchant and politician, who supported Poland against the Teutonic order, but that decision was merely political, because Poland promised the fathers region more autonomy, whilst the Teutonic Order wanted to annex and control it. So the fathers pro-Polish stance had nothing to do with nationality or loyalty, it was a self serving calculus as usual at the time of late medieval politicking, his father thought he would have more influence and power siding with Poland at the time.
Nicolaus Copernicus himself, as is documented in his own writing, when outside of Poland or Prussia and asked for his nationality, he said he was German. So Poland may claim Copernicus as Polish, but Copernicus described himself as German, and he spoke German as his first language. The only real claim Poland has is a few distant relatives and that he lived on what is today Polish territory. So maybe one could claim he was "part Polish" or "German Polish" / "Polish German" or something, but saying he is "fully" or "mostly" Polish is probably wrong by almost any metric, and even "half" Polish is stretching it (i am a fan of compromise though, so wouldn't mind if it were the case). To be fair, in that region most people even today (in terms of their genetic fabric) are a mix of German and Polish ethnicity, which are already extremely similar on a purely genetic level. Most dna tests can't tell a western Pole from an eastern German.
Even though even a cursory research into his life makes it clear, that one can not really claim "Copernicus is Polish", and he certainly would not have thought of himself that way, just the fact many people in Poland seemingly want to believe it keeps the myth alive. Sorry to rain on your parade, my Polish friends. Don't worry, you still have Marie Curie.
