Strathmore Colored Pencil Paper 6x8 400 Series White

I adore my PrismaColor Premier colored pencils. When you work with colored pencils, you quickly realize that the type of paper you use has an enormous impact on how well your pencils transfer, how well they blend, and a variety of other things. It could be that you simply can't get the results you want if you use cheap printer paper to draw on. The paper simply doesn't have the "nooks and crannies" necessary to hold the pencil's color.
I love Strathmore's colored pencil paper. The 400 series provides a nice amount of texture to it, to gather up the colors you're using, so that you can layer and blend them to get the results you're after. I know there are different sizes suitable for different types of projects. For me, I really like this 6 inch by 8 inch size. It's perfect for taking out with me on location to do sketches of buildings and landscapes.
Also, for gift-giving, if I give someone a 6x8 image they can easily prop it up on a desk or hang it in a nook. It's not as "pressure-involved" as giving them a large image that they then feel required to "put on display" somewhere in the house. So I do quite a lot of the smaller sized images for family and friends (and for selling!) and less often create the larger sizes.
