The song was written to be the entrisong for the Klitschko brothers, very famous and accomplished boxers but was rejected by their management for being too hard. The counting reperesents the counting of the rev when someone goes down and other lyrics like the sun shines from my fists and such hint on that too. More Rammstein please they are so good

I'm going to have to disagree with you. If all metal was sung in German it would take away from songs like this and make Rammstein bland and ruin other music. I will say that many other songs need s German cover though 😉
Nah no way, need variety. Metal in English can sound real brutal and even other languages like Japanese metal pull off some unique sounds.

The story in the song has more to do with the Brothers Grimm tale than Disney's interpretation. When the Prince saw Snow White lying in the glass coffin, he wanted to take her away (for whatever reason). One of the dwarfs says he can't, because she is "our sun" after all.
Snow White woke up when the dwarfs stumbled with the glass coffin and she spit out the poisoned apple.
The song was originally written as a ring music for boxer Vitali Klitschko, the lyrics paraphrase the beating of the fists and the count of the referee. But Klitschko declined the song, he found it too hard. The music video was made after that had happened so they had to come up with something else instead which is why you can see another possible interpretation of the lyrics here even though it was not the intended one. So basically you got it right: Snow White is the sun (you can also see that the mine and the workers are all black and white and when she comes in she brings the colors with her yellow dress and red lips) and the dwarfes work for her. And even though she treats them bad (like a boxer his opponent) they always come back for her. I don't think that the apple waking her has a deeper meaning. Just that she returns to her tyranny and they go back to the mine. It's just a classic Rammstein video in which they take classic motives and put them in a dark and twisted perspective.
Wow. That makes a lot of sense with the duality of the lyrics. They both fit the music video narrative and boxer song narrative really well. I think this is the first time I have seen the music video with subtitles as well since I have tried to learn their native language I can see that I was a bit wrong at some points but not completely off. Tnx for that insight

Yeah, if you ever see something fantastical from German artists, there's often a decent chance it's related to the original Grimm fairy tales, which have generally been disney-fied for North American audiences (at the least).

Dunno if anybody has commented this before but in German, "Sun" is a female word, and that makes a huge difference with any possible interpretations of the lyrics.
Operatic singing, all done by keyboard. Best to watch this song performed live by these guys to witness the true greatness of it. Still that being said, amazing video clip for the song and one of their most popular

Those operatic vocals in the chorus are all sampled, Rammstein keyboardist Christian "Flake" Lorenz has famously used an Ensoniq ASR-10, which is a sampling keyboard/workstation in just about everything the band has done
Honestly rammstein completely blew my mind when I first heard them, I've heard all their albums and they got fire everywhere. Haven't seen them yet, but they r absolutely insane live. Pyromanics is too light. Term 🤣 love the reaction like always

I have the LICHTSPIELHAUS DVD!!! When I was living in Montreal, a good friend lend it to me for about 3 weeks. I didn't ask him to borrow it. He just wanted me to watch it. I played it everyday for those 3 weeks! It was sad when I had to give it back, but I finally found a copy for myself! The live stuff on it is amazing! MORE RAMMSTEIN PLEASE!!!

Sonne is that favourite song of mine right after Mein Herz Brennt,and this song often is best while reacting to the music video for some reason. And by that i mean that the light female vocals (smurfy/almost chipmunk sounding) comes through best through the music video,that also goes for the rest of the atmosphere with this song. Usually i do recommend people reacting to theyr live versions of theyr songs,but you did the right thing here by doing the music video. The live version of this isnt bad in any way,but the complete experience is best with the music video. Imagine if the Klitsjko brothers actually entered to this song? I know especially Vladimir aka "Dr.Steelhammer" had a stoneface like no other,and his punches were hard as steel. If you got hit with a 100% dedicated fist,it was goodnight! So imagine the mindgames seeing him walking in,staring into your soul with this song? I would be like "Hell no,i`ll fight another day....im not ready for this!" 🤣

This is my favorite video of all time. I love that these giant, ripped German men are the tiny Dwarves. Snow White, who is classically pure and kind, is a gold drug-addicted tyrant. The woman singing in the background really hearkens back to the way Snow White sang in the original animated film. I just fucking love this song and video SO SO much.

As others have mentioned, the song was originally written for a boxer's entrance. That said, the video in question seems to depict the 7 Dwarves viewing Snow White as the brightest thing in their lives, hence, "Here comes the Sun".
Even though she abuses them and uses them to her own ends, she's still the most beautiful thing they've ever witnessed, and they will endure torment to see her happy.

My very first concert 2001 had four huge band's. Mudvayne, Rammstein, System of the Down, Slipknot. Rammstein was so 🔥🔥🔥.
When it comes to theatrical shows with special effects, I'll give you KISS, Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie. The first two especially. KISS had the lights, pyro, wires, blood, and smoking guitar. Alice had guillotines, dancers, and was more theatrical. Always a plus in watching people reacting to Rammstein.

It was after the show and she was clearly tired (she’s a dancer in his shows for anyone who doesn’t know)… but still gracious enough to take pics 😊
Meeting Rob was fun too… he jumped out from behind a curtain and was RIGHT in front of my face haha. I said “oh, hi Rob Zombie” 😆

It was first produced as an intro song for Klitschko. After rejection it was then redone with change of lyrics to be about nuclear bombing. "Here comes the sun" "the sun in my fist" "comes down hot on your face" and so on.

When it comes to over the top live shows, you've got Rammstein, Kiss, AC/DC, ZZ Top, and Slipknot. Most people call Rammstein industrial, but in Germany they were a part of a movement called 'new German hardness', which settled into being called dance metal, or in German, tanzmetalle.
When i was a kid and this came on TV i found a blank VHS and waited for over an hour for it to come back around so i could record it.
Rammstein is great live but the most insane show I’ve ever been to is Gwar! INSANE! Also, I’ve never had the chance and never will get to see the whole Pink Floyd live but they did some crazy stuff too like the wall and flying pig, ya know?

OZZY back in the day of Blizzard of Oz and Diary of a Madman was pretty entertaining too, And old school Iron Maiden with all those Eddie's was pretty good lol. Snow white and the 7 dwarfs (orginal Schneewittchen und die sieben zwerge) is from the grimm brothers. They collected tales from different villages in Germany. These tales were often very dark and brutal. So the Grimm brothers changed the tales a little.
Fun fact. They toured with Korn limp Bizkit ice cube and orgy back in 97 98 I think. So I always considered them a German nu metal industrial band.

I actually got into metal through Rammstein because I like hearing music in other languages probably the first after Metallica that started my metal journey.
Kaso knows. Klitschko brothers' father was an officer in the Svoiet military and they lived near Chernobyl... when it melted down, their father was on the reactor building trying to seal it with cement... as children they would see the trucks come back from the reactor site and be washed. Their father eventually got cancer. The Klitschko brothers both were heavyweight boxers, and also had PhDs... "Sonne" is the word for Sun in German. The song was written initially for Vladimir K to enter the ring to... and I'm pretty sure he did use it once. Rammstein were condsiderably more controversial at the time, the band members were East Germans before the wall came down, so they were raised as Soviets, as were the Klitschko brothers, who were from Ukraine. The older brother eventually was in government in Kiev, but they bot have left the country since Russia claimed Crimea... they both speak Russian, German, and English. They are very close, each brother was a corner man for the other during boxing matches. The younger brother also was in a relationship with actress Hayden Paniterre, who he had a child with. She left and left their baby with him... both brothers have retired from boxing and currently live in Germany. There is an HBO documentary about them, and footage of their fights shows they were very large guys and heavy hitters. The Rammstein video doesn't show them, it shows the Seven dwarves keeping a mean Snow White supplied with gold (weiss gelt = white gold, cocaine). She apparently overdoses and they put her in a glass coffin because (just like in the fairytale) she's too beautiful to bury. In the original story, she is given a poisoned apple and gets a piece of it stuck in her throat ... old Brothers Grimm fairytales are some of the scariest , ghoulish stories ever written ! Till Lindemann's father wrote children's books, and the lyrics for the song have nothing to do with Snow White , but in the video the poor dwarves are down in the mine finding gold for their "Sun", she being a cruel addict who spanks them... at the end of the video the apple on the tree falls and wakes her up from her gold OD. You guys are so fun to watch ! Rammstein's video for Auslander is really great, and you should check it out... colonialism run amuck. XOXO

Slipknot and rammstein put on amazing shows. But I have to admit, the best live show I've seen, and they use a lot of pyrotechnics is KISS.
Their last American summer 2022 tour they flew their set over on 9 military cargo planes and had 70+ semi’s to transport their set from city to city.

The actual pronunciation of the band name is “Rham-schtein” (Rom-shh-tine). Most muricans say it “Ram stine” though so I get it. Would love to see you watch their original for “Mein Teil”. Think you may have done the live version before.
This is a bit confusing to someone who is used to american / english pronunciation of words and the alphabet. It is neither "rham-schtein" nor "Rom-shh-tine" in german or english. But "Rum-shtine" would be pretty close.
The original was from a couple of German brothers called Brothers Grimm. They're basically tales in falklaur handed down generations. For example in cinderella the evil stepsister has their toes and heels cut off to fit in the golden shoe an birds to peck out their eyes as punishment. The stories are the originals before Disney made the all farting rainbows. Little Mermaid, Snow White, Cinderella, Hansel and Gerttle, rapunzel. Definitely need to check them out.

you guys know there are websites that specifially translate rammsteins lyrics and even provide alternative meanings to the parts that can be interpreted in more than one way, right?
The album version is slightly different than this version. The section with the operatic singer is replaced with another verse (bridge), which I feel helps break up the monotony of the lyrics. Either way this song is a banger!
