    You can tell that Mark still has a certain level of anger towards how AB was treated in their early days. And I don’t blame him. It’s been hard as fuck for them as AB to not be criticized as Creed 2.0 in the states

    Nothing against Creed, but Alter Bridge is a much better band. This comes from someone who loved Creed back in the day.

      I still love pretty much all the Creed songs, but when comparing the two you need to remember that Tremonti now has a lot of song writing experience under his belt he didn't back then. And Alter Bridge is a bit more metal than Creed ever was. Scott Stapp can still write great songs too, but has quite a different sound. Still, ABs latest album isn't that far off from Creed imo.

      I agree but I prefer Stapps lyrics and raw grunge sound. Myles has one helluva voice plus guitar skills but I just can’t get into it AB like I did Creed. I met Myles and Tremonti when they first formed the band and did a free concert downtown Raleigh NC. Super nice dudes! It was weird seeing Tremonti play in front of a small crowd versus the huge Creed crowds. Glad to see both bands were/are successful.

      2 sides of the same coin. It’s the same band minus the singer and Tremonti does solos now. That’s about it. Creed had more commercial songs which is why they were so huge. Alter Bridge still has that Creed sound but the songs aren’t as commercial. No doubt Myles Kennedy has better vocal range than Scott Stapp but that distinctive growl can’t be misplaced and was perfect, at the time, for Creed.
      It’s the same band….but not the same band. Yeah…..something like that…..

    Due to the success of Creed Alter Bridge was always presented as Creed 2.0 and that really was sad because they are nothing like creed. I believe mark and the others founded their true style with alter bridge. My luck was that I didn’t even know about Creed because like mark said they were not known in Europe. Pat Ka Scott Stapp has a voice which Myles Kennedy doesn’t come close to. Scott Stapp is an amazing front man! The emotions and the feeling when you watch Creed is completely different than when you watch Alter Bridge not even closeI Miles Kennedy has an good voice but it always sounds the same..What I mean is I use music as a way to heal, work through things and when I listen to Alter Bridge and try to like them Myles Kennedy’s voice is good but it doesn’t do anything for me. Creed and Alter Bridge are completely different bands and Creed in their Hayday touched millions! . Alter Bridge has their own sound. I have tried to like them especially since they are all the members of creed minus the lead singer. There are still many Creed fans out here just like you guys are alter Bridge fans and imagine all of a sudden they broke up and went away. I remember Creed well.. I remember how much their music has helped me..I remember being in the front row of a concert in 2009 and being blown away by this band. In fact I have Mark Tremonti’s pic from the concertI I understand Mark Tremonti’s reason for needing to move on but they left a lot of fans in their dust...And mind you these are the fans that made Creed famous and allowed the members who are no longer in Creed to move on to Alter Bridge and already known. If feels like a slap in the face. I know I’m being selfish but I miss Creed.
      However, since I know what it feels like to love a band I’m happy for Alter Bridge fans

    I prefer Creed, I can't get around Myles voice. Creed has more better songs and you can't deny how Stapp nailed those powerful vocals on 3 records especially in Human Clay album. The only thing about Creed was the absence or less guitar solos, nonetheless the songs are heavy as hell.

    • @way-rp4pi
      @way-rp4pi Před 3 lety +2

      100% agree. Creed was only missing more guitar solos and heavy riffs. A modern Creed record would be amazing as Mark's guitar playing is much better now than the 90's, lot's of heavy riffs and solos. Scott has re discovered some of his old voice so I think on a studio album he would sound much better than 2009. Mark has left Creed fans in the dust. He clearly prefers playing with AB which is a shame. I like AB and they have some great songs but for me they have never come close to Creed for hits or having as big of an impact on the music scene. There was something special about Creed's music that is hard to describe, the songs meant a lot to people. I think Myles for as good of a vocal range he has an is no doubt a better live performer than Stapp (now-Stapp was great in the past), Myles lacks the charisma and stage presence Stapp brings and doesn't have the same energy. I have seen AB play live many times and sadly their fan base has a lot of Creed and Stapp haters, often they are bitter due to AB's lack of commercial success compared to Creed. I actually went to a Tremonti show before and was hated on for being a big Creed fan. Some of AB fanbase are sad people. But I am a proud Creed and Stapp fan and didn't care what they said to me.

    Scott Stapp is starring as Frank Sinatra in the upcoming Reagan biopic. His vocal range is about the same, and he sounds kinda like him- he stopped smoking too so his voice is smoother for the most part- the snail in the throat is gone and he can growl that’s it. I’ve always seen Creed as lyrically and musically better than Alter Bridge more consistently across songs in their albums, but some of Alter Bridge’s songs in their albums just aren’t good AB material, though I like most of their songs. Myles had a struggle with faith like Scott when he was younger- but later became more of an atheist, “Turning Stones to see what I can find” being haunted by the “ghost of shangri-la”(ghost of paradise).
