  • 1st video of this series. This video was made on Sept 10th.
The information in this video was accurate and verified on that day. Since recording this there HAS been a bus stop sign on the corner on 4th street at 4th avenue east that was NOT there the day or recording. It is also NOT a Green GO Line sign nor does it tell us what buses stop there. Things change every day… and that is part of the problem.
The season of road construction here in Duluth, MN has certainly added challenges to rolling out the new Better Bus Blueprint Duluth Transit redesign. Not only changes to most if not all routes, new numbers, lines that are limited stops that used to stop at every block. Often no signage at new bus stops or old bus stops telling you what the new route is and where to catch it…. Along with the information attendants not having accurate information to provide riders with instructions as to where the bus goes so we know where to stand. And where the bus stops... and signs are so that the bus will stop to pick us up….
This, changing to the Better Bus Blueprint plan, has been a VERY stressful situation as a rider. I imagine for the drivers and attendants too. Duluth, we can do better. Riders are at the mercy of the system and information is hard to find. Looking for help, for answers, for solutions so things can be better and successful all the way around. HELP!

During some of the recorded calls and driver interactions, we are masking the voices of the folks who work at the DTA, to try to make incredibly clear that Judy is not trying to call out individuals, but the system as a whole. We have paid special attention to making sure the Closed Captioning are accurate to assist in understanding some of these conversations.. Thank you! Hey Judy. If this happened to me, that would be so frustrating. I can truly relate to the story since I am a bus driver myself I drive for Saint Clair county Alabama public transportation. We would never ever do our riders this way, and not informing them. People rely on us every dayand changing with no information is very aggravating. Sorry this happened to you and hopefully they can get this fixed soon. If I was you, I would call the Director of transportation in your city and talk directly to them and voice your complaint there as well as here.

      Good idea!
They still are having MASSIVE challenges! They eliminate a bus stop due to construction and just tell you the stop is closed. NOT WHERE to go for a stop.
And they have now created the culture where, if you are rushing to the stop... they won't stop unless you are standing properly at the stop.
So... there is still a lot of work to be done.
Thank you for your perspective! You are right... many depend on the bus everyday... so hard to have them not get that... or not care enough to get that. Or care about their power more than serving the community. It really is maddening!

At 7:07 if you'd turned around and walked about halfway to the alley, you'd have seen the bus stop sign that was where you needed to be.

On the day this was recorded that wasn't the case. I did go looking for it. And, again, they could have had the kindness to open the door and let me know. I had waited where they told me to. It, a sign, DID show up later... I'd have to dig for the picture but it was weeks, as I recall, later. I
t wasn't clear what busses stopped there.
Lots of confusion and mixed info.
