  • external battery charging to 100% but internal down to 70% and dropping WTF?
Thought I was heading for the problematic "Code 19" and scooter lockup.
Caught and fixed the problem in time! Beware of this issue if you have external batt pack or plan to put one on.

I have looked for almost a YEAR for info on fixing this and NOTHING was helping me "oh the cord is frayed, your battery is shot" I actually bought another battery and another charging pack to no avail. I finally found your video. Thank you so much! I was scared I was just screwed. Much appreciation and hope others find this video if they have the same problem.

Thanks for sharing this video. I had a code 45. I solved it by following your instructions, charging the inner battery and outer battery separately and then reassembly. Good as new.

Thanks! I was looking for info on how to take the external battery off. Also have an error code 21 likely due to lose pins. Discovered the external battery mounting plate was also lose just like in your video.

So i don't get any type of error on my Ninebot E45 but notice the external battery is 70% and 34% on the Internal battery. I should do the samething you did right. Video was definitely informative

Getting closer. There's definitely a connection issue between my secondary and primary. I directly plug into the primary though, and nothing happens. If I apply pressure to the connection area of the secondary and primary, the display turns on. I'm guessing I have a bad primary battery to deal with.

I love the storage for your ninebots. Would you mind sending me a pic and basic info on how you built it?

i like the way you were able to explain the battery. my external battery gets a red/green light... but with ur video learned how to get the external battery off and now the internal battery is now charging. so my question is how many miles would the battery last just on a internal... i have the ninebot es4. thx

My son now has a error 19. i am hopeful following your steps will solve his problem as well. Anything else you would recommend once you get to a 19?

I had a question. What is the four white lights and red light strip on the external battery no longer display. Is that a sign that the external battery is on its last leg of lifespan? Also, is there away to fix the light problem?

Not sure you addressed this, but for those adding a new fully charged external battery to your scooter. I found that the AC charger will not initially charge the internal battery when the external battery is FULLY charged, probably because the charger stops charging when the external battery is completely charged and is unable to see through to the charge of the internal battery, which may not be full. I let the scooter sit for several hours without the charger connected and found that the external battery automatically charged the internal battery. In other words, DC power flowed from the external to the internal battery. Once this happened, the external battery, which was now partially depleted from charging the internal battery, would accept a charge.
