@@seemaab The weight of the water can cause the bath to drop by a few mm, so if you do it without filling the bath, the first time someone runs a bath the sealant will come away from the strip and cause water ingress.
@@seemaab I don't see why not from a practical standpoint, it will still seal the area, but it all depends on the gap to be filled, for instance I have an old cast Iron bath which is beveled on the edges, so the gap between bath and tile is quite substantial, so just to fill it with silicone won't look good, with the 20mm bead I would need haha.
Very useful and clear instructions, thanks.
Brilliant thank you so much.
Very useful, thank you. 🙇 I bought my sealant strip today, which i shall be installing over the weekend tomorrow.
How are your results?
@@turtlewalzer Fantastic solid, it really works well it's still doing its job today, and it's simple & easy to do.
You are a saver ,god I finally found the best option
you should do it with the bath tub filled with water
Very smart
Why

Stephen Singletary oh makes sense thanks. Can’t we just use silicone with the bath filled instead of using the plastic strip?

why did you not tile down onto the bath?
and why did you not fill the bath with water prior to fitting the bead
Do you fill the bath?
