    Thank you, thank you, thank you! Am just getting interested in this technique and, like everyone else, find CC so expensive. This is a great alternative. I have 2 questions---Would Calcium Carbonate work as well as the baby powder? It is another way to make chalk paint, so I'm just wondering if I make it thicker if it would be the same. Second, you mention a longer drying time than the "real" paste. Is it significantly longer? Thanks so much!

    • @MelissaMakesItDIY
      @MelissaMakesItDIY  Před 3 lety +1

      I think if you adjust the texture and "pastiness" using the calcium carbonate that it would work. I have used it to make chalk paint but didn't think to use it for this. It wasn't a significant difference as far as the drying time, but it did take a bit longer. That's really more in terms of it curing. I hope that helps.

      No problem. Since the paste is thicker it works much better with the screen stencil. Less bleeding. Yes when you use the alcohol the color is brighter. I would wash it off as soon as possible. It washes off fairly easily. It will stain the screen and could potentially get stuck in the screen if you leave it too long.
