The Minis teardown was by fare my favorite one you've done so far and I've watched most, if not all of your videos.
Ok, but the real question is.
Which one is the best to strap to your back and use for a VR Headset?

Been a sub since your channel was very small. It's great to see how well you channel has grown, but what I find to be the best part is that your presence on camera is exponentially better.
Nearly lost my marbles when Dawid said "I don't think becoming intimately acquainted with your devices mortality before powering it up for the first time makes for a good user experience."
Appreciate the honesty. Good hands-on review and comparison 👍
love the simple benchmarks thanks dawid
I dont know what was worse, Verg's PC build or this disassembly.
Easily The Verge's PC build because it was misleading with bad advice and didn't even run the RAM in dual channel mode. It also nearly ruined the presenter's life because he was given a ridiculous deadline to do the video in with almost no information, so sure he looked inept, but it was because of extremely poor editorial control and management. LinusTechTips actually did a co-op "re"-build with him and they talked about how much of a mess it was behind-the-scenes.
Thank you bro these crappier pc series is amazing love that you throw upgrades in them too
Incidentally, it's supposed to be WAY easier to get the board out. Minisforum's ram/ssd installation video shows that they suggest pushing against the lobes of the drive tray while pulling slightly on the case plastic. It just popped right out.
"liquid metal" on the heatsink, actually means they spray tiny droplets of liquid metal all over the motherboard.
Bought HX 90 then added a 27" Samsung TV (monitor) absolutely love it. Had a HP all in one with windows 7 for a long time. Super slow with todays standard. What is nice is the TV has nice speakers built in. All I had to do was Blue tooth mouse and keyboard and was up in running in less than a half hour. Super FAST really pleased.
This was an amazingly timely video. I had completely forgotten about the Top Ton, and preordered an HX90 on the 1st, when their ship date still said mid-September. Well, after checking this video I checked for updates on the HX90... Now the ship dates are available in detail and my order won't ship until the end of October.
So for $8 more than the HX90 config I preordered, I got the i9 variant (I value the cores a bit), and their sure to be slow RAM that I can swap out at my leisure.
Dude cancel that order and get the Top Top
Wait, Dawid got a computer with dual channel RAM! Nothing in this Universe makes any sense to me anymore…
That was the opposite result to what I was expecting. Way to go, TopTop.
iirc Tech Jesus mentioned it's 3200 MHz, but CL22 ??? I think I'd rather buy better ram myself.
I love your humour! It's subtle and hilarious, just bought a Asus g14 and love it but loving your VIDs even more haha
The new studio space is looking great!
I love how Dawid was too lazy to Google what the dimensions would be in metric to better understand the difference of height for his sponsor lmao
Excellent video just discovered your channel and subbed!
Thank you for the video and for your insights. Just ordered the Topton mini pc with the 9750H cpu as you recommended. It's priced now for 585$ (Bareboned) shipped which is a good deal for those specs.

I'm curious if you're able to install a different heatsink to the hx90 and still put it back together. I don't know the size specs of the stock heatsink and if it conforms to an available bracket layout. You can unlock in the bios to 54w and I'd imagine you'd need a little beefier HS to keep it from throttling constantly.
I have an Autonomous desk lamp for painting and crafting and its pretty amazing.
Yes!! Been looking sooo forward to this!! Go Dawid goooo!!!!
Hey,you assemled it back,good for You !!!
Oh hey, I really find your subjective comparisons useful. (Can you tell the difference between refresh rates etc...) and would really like to see more blind tests of audio. I'm stuck half way between being an audiophile and thinking that most of it is BS. I just bought a PC38X to replace a Hyper-X cloud stinger, and I'm really not sure it was worth it.
I have watched many dozens of videos over the last two years regarding mini PCs for gaming. There are always compromises. In the end, all these videos convinced me to buy a pre-built from a boutique gaming company. It cost me a little bit more but I don’t have to deal with building a PC anymore. I gave that up 20 years ago. It now I have a PC sitting next to my television and I can outdo every mini PC I’v see so far.
lol...i actually throughly enjoyed watching this... the puns, and memes were funny.. cool content man
@Dawid Does Tech Stuff you mentioned a thermal fix for the Top Top, had a graphic about System32, but I didn't see you mention it in the video. What was the fix?
You need to find a way to integrate that Zen3 Croe architecture with the Coorel cooling solution for the ultimate PC experience!
lots of hype on those vega iGPU, then it gets monstered by the bottom of the range 1650 running at how many watts? like 45 or something?
I got same config in my dell, but with an oled, rocks
*Mini pc’s are laptops without screens*
Change my mind
Except they are not, because they are custom, not portable, and sometimes have desktop parts. I don’t know what laptops you’ve seen but if there are apparently ones with full size GPUs I’d like to know.
they are laptops without screens... and keyboards and touchpads.
Thermals are usually a bit better than laptops.
I still like them, though. Wish I could buy one.
Couldn't agree more
@@jeyendeoso Ik they’re kinda neat but would still opt for a normal gaming pc or then again it depends on what you’re gonna sue it for :D
Love your vids dawid, shame you dont make them 5 times a day lol. Joking, keep up the good work
4:20 deserves a disclaimer that they claim to used liquid metal but just use normal thermal paste
What's odd, his temperatures are lower than some of the other reviews. Der8auer showed that if liquid metal was used as intended the temps would max out in the 70s instead of the low 90s. They have a premium cooler (twin-heatpipe polished nickel plated copper) designed for liquid metal, I think the assembly process just wasn't ready for it because installing liquid metal is far more involved than squeezing a paste tube.
It's a rough position some idiot at Minisforum put this growing brand into....the HM80 and several others showed promise.
Ya if Minisforum could somehow get a medium grade gpu solution in there it would be a pretty good unit for gaming however then the price would probably almost double & temps would most likely be an issue. Neway thanx for the review. :)
Do you happen to have any updated recommendations on a super fast mini pc with Excellent GPU USB port & multiple hdmi around the same price points.
i sense a video coming with that fan header 👀👀
so it has all of the negative points of a laptop without the display or keyboard
Haha!! Pretty much.
It's intended differently. It has a CPU mostly found in $1500-2500 laptops but does not have the dGPU, screen or battery. It has tons more ports than a laptop, room for three internal SSDs, and a hardwired 2.5GbE networking. It's more for workstation, media PC and/or home server usage. It's definitely not for everyone.
Also right now, there's a lot riding on whether they got the manufacturing sorted out or will shipped product have the wrong thermal paste like the prototypes do.
I love the small form factor but both are bad value since a laptop with an 1650 is around $700 too. Considering that the toptop is basically a laptop motherboard put into a mini pc case.
for 800 USD I've got a 9750H and a 1660Ti. So yea, you're about right. Thankfully that ALSO came with a 144hz display on it. Keyboard was disappointing though since the key rollover is 2 keys...so playing anything requiring WASD movement was unfortunate, so you might find yourself dropping like 50 dollars on an external keyboard with mine.
iirc its a desktop version 1650, if so itll outperform a mobile 1650

Regarding the Topton mini pc. I got today the i7-9850H variant and it thermal throttling really fast (Like 5 seconds into AIDA64 stress test). You've mentioned in your video @0:23 that you've deleted system32 and it fixed your temps, But i Get the thermal throttling even on freshly installed windows 10. What do you meant by fixing your temps ? To what temps does your system get under stress ? It seems from BF V video footage that your 9750H gets to 87 degrees on 3.3ghz which is not very good and prob. throttled by the high temp.I think that the i5-9300H it's a more apropriate cpu for this mini pc casing and cooler structure, In order not to reach those temperature levels. On the other hand, You can use intel XTU the limit cores speed and undervolt and even if you stick to 9300H core speed, You still get 2/4 more core/threads for just extra 63$.
[3:46] I am sorry about your broken tool; I wish you a speedy recovery.
Dawid's favorite phrase... but more on that later ... LOL lOL Cheers from Flint Mi Bud !!! love the content
Im confused which one your recommending, i want to play warzone/ call of duty and just want it to run well. Which one is better for that?
I don't game but just bought the HX90 for video transfer/editing and other basic stuff. So far it's a beast.
When I think of how much I paid for my Canyon Lake NUC w/ an I7-8705G & Vega 6 graphics (over $2000 CDN including 16GB memory and 1TB SSD), and I see prices in the $900 - $1000 range for these two units, I really want to cry.
Now, I DID buy it as a HTPC, not a gaming PC, so I am still happy with the purchase (and it does OK playing Portal at 1080p), but in just over 2 years mini PC's have certainly improved AND plummeted in price.
But mine DOES have programmable skull lighting on the case, so there's that. (of course I shut it off immediately after my intial "oooh")
I believe the newest NUC is amazing in its power and capabilites. It can take a 2 slot desktop graphics card and everything. Im pretty sure it is also very expensive and doesn't come with a graphics card at all, so good luck getting a 3060 or a slim 6700xt to put in there. By the time you are done with it, you will probably have spent $2500 to have a small desktop with worse thermals than a comparable mini itx computer.
Only discovered you a few months ago. Glad that I did.
I love all your videos they are funny as hell
Which one is recommended primarily as a Plex Media Server? Also, how do you think these compare to a Mac Mini 8GB Ram computer?
You do great stuff here.
I have just begun my research into mini PCs, looking to build or buy one that is low power and low heat for use as a gaming dedicated server for game like dayz, valhiam, 7 days to die. Any suggestions would be wonderful.
I got the toptop PC with i7 after watching this video. Absolutely love it.
I thought the case would look tacky but it's actually not too bad.
Price is very reasonable and the portability/space saving is insane.

Does the holes on the motherboard match that of the ATX standard?
If yeah, could it mean it can be attached on some cases maybe ITX? (might have to remove that 2.5" drive bay'ish bracket)
And why would you want to put it in a case?
@@attilathehun79 Could be many reasons, maybe making use of that extra chassis fan header or something.
Maybe years later or in very rare cases where the shroud does get compromised, so you'd want to know if it can have an easy replacement.
But mostly just for the sake of knowing out of curiosity.

Gotta love the base meme
0:23 Ya never got back to that, I don't think. What went wrong with the TopTop?
I'm wondering which one is better for an emulation box (eg. xbox, PS2/3, Dolphin, etc.). Emulators are typically CPU heavy, no? But I feel like if you're going to pay $1000 for a mini PC, you can probably build a Mini-ITX with a Ryzn 5900 + a dedicated gfx card for the same or cheaper.
