My practice is split applying nitrogen in 3 parts. First is at the start of the growing season (end of february), second is at the first node stage and the last one is at the flowering stage which increases protein. This year we had 130bu/ac and 18.7% protein.
Hi Peter! I used the split nitrogen this year. First part Febr 26 rate: 400 kg/ha NAC27 and the second part last week apr 23 Rate 200 kg/ha NAC27. Location in Hungary.
We always pit two applicatioms of N in the spring usally 50 lbs of dry irea in late Feb early March then another 50 in April late this was in Northeast Arkansas looking at early June harvest. We used buggys some depending on weather by Air.
Our N needs on sprinkler irrigated wheat can be very tricky in Texas. We plant our wheat after 240 to 290 bu/ac corn so we go 2/3 + 1/3 split 160 lb N. Hoping for 120 bu/ac. We run a NT drill two times planting 75k seeds each time because we do not have a VT and have a very hard clay loam soil. A virus will take all if it is a dry winter and just no till.
Amaaaazing idea I like this
i just harvested my first crop of winter wheat, im now in the process of threshing it. but i have a question. do you rotate wheat with anything or is it fine to just plant wheat agin come october? does it damage the soil? i mean its a kind of grass so i wouldnt think so but i cant seem to find an answer to be sure on if i should plant something else instead
Into to understand what and what we need to learn and why would have helped tremendously confusion. 'Split nitrogen's?

Why nitrogen split two dose tell me
He did tell us didn`t you pay attention? Plus, if you are using NO3 nitrogen fertilizers then you should know that they are effective for only about 35 days. They act fast but for a short time. Ammonium nitrogen fertilizers last much longer but you have more losses, lodging risks and they lower your soil`s Ph value. Always use NAC nitrogen fertilizers. C stands for Calcium, in CaCO3 form. Calcium will keep your soil in the neutral Ph range. Or think of it this way : is it better for you to eat all your daily food at once or split it into 2-3 doses?
How deep wheat should be cultivate
