    The time in the oven obviously depends on the power of your microwave oven as they ate not all the same. Have to cut one in half every minute to check. It does work well, thank you.

    Works beautifully on walnuts! Less noticeable with pecans, but still not bad. One handful on a salad plate. Three minutes on high in the microwave...YUM!

    For those of us who need it, did you use a 1/4 cup almonds? I want to replicate your process with almonds, before I go to my pecans and walnuts. Thanks for the idea!

    To kick things up a notch, try coating the nuts with a tiny bit of cooking oil before putting them in the microwave

    Since microwave times are dependant on the quantity of food you're cooking, wouldn't you have to zap them for 6 minutes if you doubled the quantity?

      I would test. This isn't a solid block of food. You might have to toast longer, but I wouldn't assume it would necessarily be double the amount of time. Might be, but I'd try 30-second or 1-minute increments to make sure.

    Is this the same as dehydrating nuts to remove phytic acid after soaking and using microwave?

  • @kitchenmom
    @kitchenmom Před 4 lety +2

    Are german ovens so much faster? It doesn't take my oven to heat up 20 minutes, it also doesn't take the nuts to toast 20 minutes. But boy it only takes 10 seconds too long in the microwave to burn all the nuts.
