Some daughters get embarrassed when they feel like their mums are trying to look 20. They could also be resistant to her current lifestyle. She said she changed how she dressed at 40. The daughters may be mourning the woman they grew up with, not realizing that this is who their mum is now.

Notice that all or nearly all clothing is made for 20 year olds who are very slim. They don't ever MEASURE bigger girls, so the dresses tend to look stupid at bigger sizes. I know this b/c I'm both of these, lol

I’ll be 51 when I get married. It’ll be my first marriage and I look younger than my years ( often told I look late 30’s) so I think I can carry off a younger style, but I don’t want anything too over the top either. I’m also getting married in a small Vegas chapel so I think something slightly more non traditional may work

I’d rather dress risqué than wear any of the outfits her entourage had on. This woman is fun, confident and wants that to reflect in the way she dresses. Shame her friends and family wanted her to tone it down; it’s her wedding day, go all out girl!!
But... they didn't tone it down. They didn't have to, since they didn't give her nude dresses, like the trash in the USA. Thought they were supportive and genuinely happy to see her so happy.
True...her entourage came in wearing tents and no make-up. But I don't think they were insulting to her, the loved and supported her as being the glam girl she is.

I'm reading these comments, and I'm thinking, "I need to take this advice to heart myself," because I'm *constantly* forgoing fun, splashy, but not over-the-top clothes because I'm afraid of looking ridiculous. I may be an official senior citizen now, but that doesn't mean I have to dress like a furniture slipcover. I still have long, slender legs and am curvy, but with a distinct waist. Maybe I'll try some fun leggings, plain tunic, dramatic silver jewelry, and flats. Whaddya think?
Edit: I love that, when the bride came out in the third dress, the first words out of her daughter's mouth were, "Look how happy you look in it." She has her priorities *very* straight.

Auntie Gok really is my favourite, he knows how to bring the bride's vision into life and manage to even make it better. With a 3,000 budget they were able to pull off this glorious dress for more than 1,000 less. JUST OVER-ALL AMAZING 💗 So happy for the bride 😊

The dress at the 6 minute mark is one of the prettiest dresses I've seen on this show actually. I think the sleeves look so feminine and elegant...and the bottom of it was also beautiful.

Makeup applied with a putty knife, over dyed hair and very vain about her appearance but can't stop over eating to to point of obesity. Everyone is commenting about how confident she is when she clearly is over compensating about her actual appearance.
Amazing how a smile can breathe life into the right dress. I thought dress #2 looked amazing on her at first but then it felt lifeless because she wasn't smiling in it.
The mom is like a bright ball of sunshine and her family are like frumpy, dowdy rain clouds.

@@angelstar7656 Dress #2 was the most flattering as it cut off at the smallest part of her waist, then flared out, as well as the top accentuating her chest; all in all giving her more of an hourglass figure than the other two dresses, which were body-hugging.
Nothing wrong with her body shape or size, just that she had expressed not wanting to look “large”, so perhaps that’s why Gok tried a dress that gave a slimming illusion. I found it to be the most flattering, but I don’t think it was her style, which is more important!
I’m just glad she went with the one she felt happiest and most comfortable in. She looked lovely in the dress that she picked!

As a seamstress, I love how they do an informal alteration in all the right places rather than just pulling it tight with clips in the back. It gives a better feel of what the dress will actually look like.

I’m such a fan of Gok! His kindness, respect for each bride-to-be and his ability to ‘get inside’ the customer’s head and fulfill their wishes so effortlessly. The video of him dealing with a blind young woman with red hair was incredible and so moving as he described the dress to her and called her a ‘fox in the snow’. A memorable video, for sure! If I lived in the UK, I’d love to meet him.

I liked the 2nd dress better for her shape. They could have added more sparkles. The girls looked amazing on the 2nd dress. Lovely bride.
It gave her a great waist but you could see in her eyes she didn't like it. The sleeves and plain skirt probably made her feel more like mother of the bride than bridal.
Those Essence of Australia dresses are beautifully detailed so I can see why she liked it better.
