"We're average to below average people"- that's me! You're absolutely right about the only failure is the failure to try. I'm learning basic hands on stuff in my 40's and glad for it.

so, to be clear, if the ground were not level (let say it were severely inclined) the laser would start at a single point, pivoting 360* (more or less), then from that "lasered" point, upward, is what causes the actual even leveling?? if so, i like it.

Mine has two bubble levels in it that you use to level the laser, then it can level or plumb what you want.

@@ecoranchusa nope, sorry, my ignorance, still don't understand...

On the laser level, it first must be level itself in order to shoot a line. So one bubble level on it is right left and the other one is front rear. Center those bubbles and you can shoot a line around a room, on a wall, or plumb a wall.

I would have used a skill saw to cut the 4x4's, much more accurate.

Agreed, use a speed square to draw a straight line on all four sides. Then move the speed square to be used as a guide for a circular saw. Wear safety glasses

The Laser is good, the Interlacing is bad ;-)

It's not important what kind of saw(interacting to the comment of Michael Gaudet) u use to cut ur 4x4 the real thing that u did try how to do it and got it level and i know how good feeling it is. Yeah for sure sir.
