    I've been keeping an eye on many electric scooters and have yet to buy one. I really want one to diversify my collection of DIY Esk8 builds. This looks solid enough to take at high speed and yet have my wife enjoy the ride as well. Love your content bro!

      For sure, see if you’re able to get your wife riding a scooter while you board. There’s a bunch of couples here in the Bay Area who do that and it’s a lot of fun. It’s a nice activity that you can do together. (And you can also enjoy the scoot every once in a while when it’s wet/damp outside)

    What I love about electric scooters (in general) is that you can have it in the city. You can live in the flat, and get your scooter home and no problem. Not, like those HUGE mopeds, motorcycles etc. This is major advantage and reason why they will be SUPER popular in near future. You live in the city, you will have one :)

    Cool video! I am also an electric scooter fan and have a few sub-monster class scooters (PassionGadgets Mini-IV, iFreego 10" 48v, Ecoreco L5+, E-Twow Booster). It is great to see your videos cruising around the same areas I would ride around. I never picked up one of the bigger class scooters because I need more portability. I commute to work on them and need to get on and off BART. I also need the scooter to be able to fit in my gym locker and toss inside a shopping cart from time to time. I would have a hard time with any of the monster class scooters. I just picked up an EcoReco L5+ instead of a FalconPEV Falcon 8 or 9. I wanted to support a local company and didn't want air-filled tires so I could avoid flats. I put a lot of miles on my scooters. I have 2 E-Twow Booster scooters and they have 6000 miles between the two of them without one bit of trouble. So far, I have really enjoyed how well the L5+ rides with its suspension and power. It can easily maintain 25mph and is only 40lbs.

      @@RCDevotee that's awesome, you sure do get your value out of those scooters putting on so many miles! Personally I don't commute on the monster scooters because they are so big, but I do know a lot of people who do. I mainly just ride them on the weekends for fun :) Depending on the person's situation they might be able to park the scooters easier than I can at work.

    Awesome video! I am thinking either this Zero 10X or Dualtron Mini. However, Dualtron Mini has a single 1450W motor and Zero 10X has 1000W dual motors. My commute has a lot of hills and if I ask, I'm 100% sure you will recommend me Zero 10X. But I wanted to ask, you think a single 1450W motor can't handle hills? I really like Dualtron Mini but may have to go with Zero 10X :(

    • @AlienRides
      @AlienRides  Před 4 lety +1

      If you're looking to conquer hills, I think you're right, you want a dual motor scooter. The 10x is a great option for sure. Some other options I'd recommend might be the Dualtron Eagle Pro, or Mantis Pro. Good luck with your decision!

  • @oktaviansuryadewangga258
    @oktaviansuryadewangga258 Před 3 lety +1

      I'd say about similar quality compared to Kaabo scooters. They're pretty similar, get whichever one has the most amp hours. Can you get a 24ah?

  • @Shion0Hibiki
    @Shion0Hibiki Před 4 lety +1

    It is very confusing getting a Zero 10x. Each of the site that sale the scooter have different spec. Some say it have 1000w motor other said it have 1200w and most say it is only 800w. Some say it come with hydraulic disc brake, other don't and none will tell you if it come with a charger or not. Looking at stock photo also look different in some site. some have a bit of red on the handle bar, some is fully black. Some come with a key start and some don't. I lived in Australia so they all speed limited to 25km/h but don't tell you if you can remove the limit or not. They all say it can do ~65km/h, but with a big bracket saying it is speed limited to 25km/h. It one of the reason why I'm holding out on buying.

    • @AlienRides
      @AlienRides  Před 4 lety

      They are solid scooters for sure, but the problem is that every dealer customizes it slightly. Are there any dealers that sell them in Australia, or are you going to order direct from FalconPEV? My recommendation would be to contact the dealer to get exact features and specifications for the scooter they sell. Good luck with your purchase!

    • @Shion0Hibiki
      @Shion0Hibiki Před 4 lety +1

      @@AlienRides Thank you for the reply. There is a few that sell them in Australia. But they all 800w motor. May have to order from oversea. Checking from other people review, the 1000w motor with 24ah batteries seems to be the best set up for the scooter.

    • @AlienRides

    I live in urban capital here in Taiwan. The roads are not as well paved in certain areas, so something that can handle bumpy urban rides is what I am looking for. I was looking at Widewheels initially, then both Inokim OX and Zero 10X caught my eyes. From your experience with the Zero 10X, is it easy to maneuver in urban SF traffic? or would you recommend a smaller size scooter? The other concern is a lack of large distributors here locally for after sales service if needed.

    • @AlienRides
      @AlienRides  Před 5 lety

      After sales service should definitely be a concern for any scooter purchase. I do think that the folks at FalconPEV do provide excellent support though, and I'm sure they could ship you things as needed from their base of operations in Singapore. With some tools and simple DIY skills I'm sure you could fix most issues (I haven't had any yet).
      I do think that the Zero 10X is fine here in San Francisco traffic, and we're able to lane split. Personally I'm a fan of a bigger scooter when in traffic so you are more easily seen. I would not go any smaller than the 10X for myself. Cheers and ride safe.

    • @AlienRides
      @AlienRides  Před 5 lety

      I think many scooters could have that problem, but I did not have that problem with typical San Francisco steep hills. Do you mean a steep hill 10km in distance? I don't have one near me, but would be awesome to find one to test on.

    Love the 10x but only thing stopping me from purchasing it would be its weight and I’m afraid it will be illegal to ride one of these without a proper license etc sometime soon in my country (NZ). What are your thoughts on the Zero 10? Would the Zero 10 be powerful enough to climb up most hills with its single 800w motor? As I would love to have that flexibility of being able to climb most hills around the city or my area, without being limited having to push it all the time...including being practical (not being too heavy to carry/lift and can fit easily in the boot of my car)

    • @AlienRides
      @AlienRides  Před 5 lety +1

      I think the Zero 10 would be a good option, but the Zero 8X might be a better option which should be coming out soon. It's more compact, and has dual motors. Might be worth waiting for!

      Freed sells them on the shore if you're in Auckland. If they end up being licenced then it will be a new light EV class. Nothing on the horizon yet though and they too busy banning everything else. Technically it would be "illegal" now but tolerated as long as you're not being an idiot like everyone on Lime.

    • @AlienRides
      @AlienRides  Před 3 lety +1

      I think a lot depends on your conditions too, if you have hills you definitely want a dual motor scooter. If there's no hills, a slower scooter like the emove could work. Hard to say max range as I haven't tested the 60 volt version, but you should be able to get 35-40 miles easily.

      Go with the larger watt hours. You multiply to determine watt hours.
      52v*23ah=1,196

      Personally I'd go with the 60 volt version. It will also have a higher top speed.

    I know it has the disc brakes, but does it have regenerative braking as well? If so, how strong? Is it adjustable? Does it automatically kick in when you release the throttle?

    • @AlienRides
      @AlienRides  Před 4 lety +1

      Yup, I believe this scooter does have regenerative motor braking, which can be set at varying levels of "grabiness". It will only kick in when you engage one of the brake levers, which will trigger an electronic switch. \You can engage the brake lever slightly to only engage the switch and electronic brakes, without using your brake pads. Overall I had no problems with braking on the Zero 10x.

    • @AlienRides
      @AlienRides  Před 5 lety +1

      Haha, I know the feeling. So this is nowhere the speed monster that the Thunder is, for long comfortable cruises you won't beat your Thunder. But if you're going on a short hop to a store or restaurant, or maybe going to a skate park, I think the Zero 10X would be a fantastic way to do that. Perhaps the Zero 10X for me is an Urban warrior. The Ox also looks good, but I haven't ridden one. Would love to get one to do a comparison.

    • @michaeligbokwe6674
      @michaeligbokwe6674 Před 5 lety +1

      The OX is single motor - so will have less torque - it has 45km top speed (ox hero) - its has one of the most comfortable rubber suspensions (patented) I've ever ridden on a scooter. Equitable to gliding on clouds. I would not suggest for stop and go urban traffic because you need more power to get out of sticky situations. It weighs around 28kg. The handlebar can be locked into the rear wing when folded. Making it slightly easier to carry. It has no seat option. The zero 10x has a similar soft suspension I believe and feels almost as smooth as the ox. It has powerful dual motors but won't be as quick off the mark because its 52v. However, in terms of autonomy, you will get more miles than a similar battery size dualtron. Its 35 kg so quite the beast. Sadly the handlebar doesn't lock, nor fold and can be a nuisance when carrying. Finally it doesn't have seat options. Where are you based darcy

Unless you're purposely trying to keep the weight down like the spider(60v 17.5ah). I know price has a lot to do it at all so. I DON"T recommend Turbowheel Lightning (ZERO 10x)! I rode cheap xiaomi for 2 month (575 km) until I got my first flat tire. I got my ZERO 10x on 5 days ago, it’s hasn’t even been one week and I got a back tire flat today on only 60 km! I am shocked to pay almost 2 000 USD and to get such low quality product. For info - I was on a perfect bicycle road when it happened, I wasn’t hitting anything, road was clean - no sharp objects etc. It just started to deflate. At the car service they couldn’t find a puncture, it’s was just deflating from the edges. I don’t feel safe riding this anymore. I wanted to pay extra for premium scooter to not deal with this bs anymore (hello xiaomi) and got pretty much same thing. Imaging going fast on this scooter and hit a flat, wheel becomes uncontrollable, you will die if you fall!

      @AlienRides  Před 5 lety

      Hey, really sorry to hear about your experience with the 10X tire deflating. It can happen to any scooter though, especially ones that don't use tubes. You can definitely fix this though. It's kind of a pain and sucks that it happened, but it's fixable. Safe scooting.

      @@andreymor5201 Actually I'm sorry, the 10X may have an inner tube, right? I review a lot of scooters and forgot the details of this one. If so, have you removed the inner tube? You might need to disassemble the rear assembly and replace the inner tube completely. You should talk to the people you bought it from, they might send you a new inner tube.

      Hi, you can order directly from China for much cheaper maybe like 1000$ using the app Alibaba. I haven't done it yet but I plan on doing so. It's pretty simple you just find a scooter you like you can probably find this exact one press chat now and you can mssg a seller. One thing to make sure of is that it's covered by Alibaba protection. There definitely is scammers on there. Only pay through the app.

    I don't think most are ready for a scooter that goes 30-40 MPH. You are fooling yourself riding around with a bicycle helmet and no protective gear. Chick wearing yoga pants, laughable. Hit the road once and you won't ever crack that throttle wide again. I rode a Bird scooter and that darn thing was dangerous enough under 20 MPH.
