Incase Dots Hardshell Case for M1 MacBook Air

  • Too many cases offered for the new M1 MacBook Air are just residual designs from the 2020 MacBook Air with Intel chips. This means that most cases offered have unnecessary vents on the bottom, when they could easily be sleek and ventless to accommodate the fanless design of the M1 Air.
    Incase took the time and resources to design a sleek case without the unneeded ventilation, and in this video I take a look at that exact case.
    If you are interested in buying this case or a variation of it, they can be found at the links below:

    Finally a video about this.
    It would be even be better if there was a case with no dots, just smooth.

    Is it true hard shell cases can damage the screen or trap dust or cause other damage? I'm getting a lot of mixed information

    I clicked in all the sides, but the left side is clearly bent upwards so I’m worried if I need to apply more force to get it down or if the top piece just isn’t aligned correctly from left to right. Would pushing on the lid hurt the screen?

    This case does not fit the m1 2020 MacBook Air fully. I bought that case and it is not wide enough for both sides to click in properly on the body of the laptop. If you are detail oriented, avoid that case.

    What about the opening? Does this case touches the bottom of the screen while opening more than 90°?
    I had a generic case and at some angle the screen touches at the bottom part of the case near the hinge

  • @IAmHeisenberg

    Your information is not accurate. Previous MacBook air cases DOES NOT FIT new M1 mac. A simple google search reveals that no, they aren't the same size: the A1932 is 1.56 cm thick at its thickest and the A2179 and A2337 are 1.61 cm thick.

    I recently bought a macbook air m1 and I've been trying to look for cases since I don't trust myself without one, but I've been seeing mixed reviews about cases ranging from them being able to potentially damage your macbook over time like straining the hinge or bending it in some way especially with the macbook air since it's way thinner. I just don't want that risk happening with my macbook have any of you experienced these issues? If not what cases should I get for my macbook? specifically the macbook air m1 2020.

    Regardless not having a fan you still to disipate heat, and hence grills have a function.

  • @laurieforsman7820
    @laurieforsman7820 Před 3 lety +3

    What is the opening span now? Some cases prevent the full open angle.

  • @leon963
    @leon963 Před 2 lety +1

    I would argue that the grill is pointless. Macbook air m1 uses passive cooling which means it uses heat transfer between the cpu and the aluminum it is made from. This formula manages to work very very well for most light to medium applications and the laptop won’t get too hot. Once it is put to work, the cpu starts throttling down as soon as the aluminum gets hot. Installing a shell with a grill will lower the endurance performance, installing a shell with no grill will lower the performance even further, acting like an insulator. Look for shells with the most bottom exposure so that your laptop will last longer ( battery will stay healthier if it will not heat up).
