  • Starting on the rebuild of the 657 from the 1995 GTX. The crankshaft in the original motor had an issue with the rotary gear moving position on the crank, causing the inner crank seal to fail under pressure. Stay tuned, more on the way.

Great video. Think this is the issue with my 94 GTX. Have removed plugs and to watch oil shoot out of the cylinders and exhaust when it has sat for a year. I was told the timing moves too. BlueCrew is the name of my boat BTW.

Great content, I didn’t watch the video on Dorian, but I hope everything is good. I just got a SeaDoo SPX from my brother-in-law and it’s got a 657. I can’t find the flush quick connect but the hose coming off of the head by the “Bomardier” is capped off. This was a fresh water ski, but I will be running it in salt water and need to flush it. I’ve looked and I guess I’m just not looking in the right place for this answer. Any help you’ll be appreciated!

Actually you don't need a razor blade, especially on aluminum! All you need is boiling water and it comes right off with a plastic putty knife!

Us a angle grinder with a lite sanding wheel works better taking off the gaskets

Do you have to replace the crank when changing the crank seals ? I’m doing a 657x that needs crank seals and a top end.
