As a Manipuri, this is my first public post on the Manipur issue. Thank you, Deeptiman Tiwary ji for understanding the issue so very well. I was so frustrated with the biased reporting in every other news outlet be it one way or the other way. Wishing for a fast return to normalcy in my state Manipur and wishing Deeptiman ji a long healthy life and many more instances of such astute journalism.
In order to maintain normalcy in Manipur the kukis needs to be given Separate Administration in order to governed themselves.

I can understand that there is deep mistrust between the two communities. My big question is, who will benefit out of this violence. Losers of this violence are the innocent people of both the communities for sure.
Cool heads from both communities should sit together and find a resolution because PEACE is the only way to secure a bright Future for the children of both communities.
Some correction to The thing he don't get right was...
1.Torbung area was not a place where rally took place. Rally took place from Lamka Peace Ground to Ccpur DC office(Tuibong). Torbung was the district border. Peace rally was held in the heart of the town.
2. There was no women raped by Kuki during the whole violence till now...Rape was just a fake news spread among the meitei themselves.

Proof is, the Assam rifles ( Jawans ) shoots only the perpetrators. There are days where the shoot occurs only between the perpetrators and the Assam rifles. It isnât because the Army takes sides. Whoever wants peace, demands president rule. The meitei knows it very well that it is up to them that they can call peace whenever they wish to, that is by ceasing the attack. But this privilege of choice does not exist for the Unau Kuki tribes. Simply because they cannot predict when will the meitei stop attacking .
What he said is that the genesis of the violence is when Kukis started burning Torbung village. Which is đŻ percent correct btw . No one is going to object to peace rallies. But once you start burning houses and temples, you have awakened the sleeping giant.

A Fabulous discussion & interview with Journalist Diptiman Tiwary (a Brilliant investigative Journalist & Wonderful Story Teller). The absolute Aplomb with which he explained the situation and gave a realistic take on the Ground situation is the Best that we have come across so far. We are lucky to have such a Brilliant Journalist in our Midst. In fact an Honest Government would have taken such people into confidence and sought to work out practical solutions. But in any case the Folks themselves are to Blame for their very sad current predicament, as they have voted for the current Dispensation both at the Centre and State, so they very sadly deserve the way things have turned out for them. Army said on June 23 that a large group of women who were part of a mob prevented the movement of additional personnel in areas bordering Kangpokpi and Imphal East districts in Manipur as âarmed miscreantsâ opened fire at villages. Though no one was killed or injured in the incident, Army said a pattern had emerged in the past 20 days where armed miscreants sneak into villages and fire with automatic weapons while women protesters block roads, stopping the movement of security forces.
I believe he is the only one journalist who says only the truth and facts.

Personally i feel the HC decision was utter stupidity. The state government has failed in it's duty at every level. The CM is utterly biased towards his own community. In such a scenario looking at political calculations is stupidity by center. Responsibility has to be set.
And equally importantly PM has to speak. He cannot go being quite for 2 months on such an important issue.
Look at who started the violence...biasedness exist on both sides...the kukis out of Manipur with internet access spreads the same biased reviews as the meiteis in the valley. A major chunk of the problem was instigated by the journalist as well. And the govt took neither side...he became a mute spectator because the root cause (drugs, illegal immigrants, underdevelopment) is where the govt was involved. Sick of all of it.

There are genuine issues. As far as i see, the very idea of giving Meities ST status is wrong. They are rich, have farming land, buisness and have political power, they ruled the state almost continuously.
The state CM had made several statements in support of Meities demand. So ofcourse the Kukis felt insecure. All it took was one push and thet push came from HC decision followed by absolute zero preperation for security of Meities for the so called peace march with massive numbers of Kukis. The disaster was bound to happen.

There is an underlying religious issue as well. They targeted churches and mission schools which cannot be ignored because they are threatened by the percentage of Christians increasing every year.
Before the clash, the BJP leaders were head strong on the mission to reconvert the meitei Christians to Sanamahism threatening the meitei Christians suspending them from their jobs. This will not surface anywhere as this is an internal matter.
So, on all grounds, we cannot ignore the religious issue as well apart from that of the ethnic clash.

How can you say The Centre is serious about the situation?? The home minister visited after a month of violence in the state. The PM is silent. The steps announced were totally toothless. Instead of clearly imposing presidentâs rule and taking responsibility and accountability, they have appointed a central command which is unable to reign in violence bcos Biren Singh still has a say in the running of state troops.

Correction: The Solidarity March was peacefully ended at around 2:00 pm, after the peaceful rally the returnees saw a Meitei miscreants burning Anglo-Kuki War Centenary Gate in Churachandpur, till than, things was not escalated. The counter blocked by the Meiteis at Torbung and Kangvai areas started burning Kuki houses and killed a pastor in the border village of Ccpur and Bishnupur district.

Meitei are minority just 21% of the population, they follow SANAMAHI. First Kuki destroyed Meitei temple at Churchandpur on 3 May 23 followed by arson and other violence. It is not Hindu Temple, PAKHANGBA is worshiped there. It is the Christian community who are giving religious color. Even you don't know the religion of Meitei. Meitei do not consider themself as Hindu, it is you people labelling them as Hindu and giving stereo type religious conflict to demonized others. The houses of Meitei Christians living at Churchandpur are also torched.
