Cacti tend to lean if they are only getting sun from one side. Try rotating the pot one quarter turn every month to get a straight cactus. I learned this the hard way :( I have a weird looking barrel cactus! :D Also re-potting cacti puts the plant into shock - so don't water them for a couple of weeks (or a week if you live somewhere like California). I've found they take to the new pot better if you give the roots chance to reach for the new soil and new nutrients. I've re-potted cacti both ways - the way you show and with paper. I think the paper method works better with larger plants (I've just repotted a 4ft Cholla this way). I never water them first, in the case of the huge Cholla - I wanted the rootball intact as that was how I wanted to do most of the handling as they are particularly vicious. The spines have barbs! :( Happy gardening! :)

Your plant (and all plants) will lean towards the side it feels most comfortable with, be it towards light, or away from too much light. This is called phototropy, the attraction for light that all plants have. And also, your plant has become thin towards the top, its called etiolation. It happens when your plant isn't getting enough light, so it stretches up in hopes to catch more sun.
If you are looking to have cacti inside your house, you should look for plants that are more sensitive to light, so they can get enough sun through your window or whatever.
The bigger cacti will demand full sun sooner or later, it depends on the species, where its originary from, etc.

I reckon, your cactus is suffering etiolation, you have to put it in a sunnier place, that's why isn't growing homogeneous

It may get thicker is kept outside. I use black cinder for drainage and to mix with the soil. If I cant loosen the soil and or remove the plant, I just break the pot

You should never water a cactus after repotting!!! That's a bad advice. The roots are damaged and it could cause your cactus to rot.

Thanks for letting us know! The research we did prior to the video suggested that we water the plant but we will look into this for the future with our other cacti.

Nice cactus, did it grow taller? I usually use dry ground with repotting as it makes the lose soil come off easily and keeps the roots unharmed. Then I keep the soil dry for a week after repotting, so the roots recover. Succulents work differently than other plants which need water right after repotting. Cacti are really prone to rotting right after repotting as the roots are damaged and they stop absorbing water when they are.

Thanks for sharing. I"m not that good with plants, but I'm guessing I could probably do this!

Thank you so much for the well demonstrated video. I hope my Cactus grow tall like yours. Do you keep in in front of a window? & if you fertilize it , what fertilizer do you use?

The editing and video quality is really beautiful, the shot of the storefront was particularly nice! There are some things you should change next time as other people have pointed out but overall nice video. Hope you continue making content.
