Chasing Powder Through The PNW!

The excitement of winter builds through the Fall and holiday season in anyone who loves to ski or ride. We couldn’t wait any longer to ski proper powder with good enough coverage that each turn doesn’t come with the concern of smashing a rock or log beneath the snow. So after another storm fizzled out for Lake Tahoe we packed up and headed north to Washington. Neither of us having skied in Washington and friends lined up to show us around we rallied the 13 hour drive up. We were treated to feet of fresh snow and a couple of bluebird days that are a rare treat in the Pacific Northwest. Most of our time was spent soul skiing and exploring new resorts. A necessity to feel at peace with the world again.
Our one day of shooting was in the backcountry with legendary ski photographer Grant Gunderson, and athlete and friend KC Deane. With concerning avalanche danger for the day we were limited to smaller and mellower slopes. So we gave you a little glimpse at what goes on behind the scenes when shooting photos in the mountains.
